Dear Abercrombie,
The truth. I love Abercrombie and it's sister company Hollister. I would recommend those stores to anyone. I have found that the reason people hate them so much is because Abercrombie/Hollister's prices are so damn high. Most people hate things that they cannot have. Go ahead and go Christmas shopping. I really don't think that anyone will judge you for it. Just plan on dropping a few hundred. Quick tip: Go directly to the back where the sales are. That way you can pick up cheaper/cute items before you handle the most expensive of merchandise. Happy Holidays. ♥ Miss Moo

i know you have a ton of answers, but i thought i'd add my oppion

i personally love the store, to death.
their stuff is a lot, yes. but it lasts for so long.
i've had theses jeans since 5th grade, i am now in 8th. and they are still in one piece. i love them!

i feel why people say they hate it is because they cant afford it, and thats fine.

but i love the store, i dont shop there all the time. but when i find something cute, i'll splurg on it.. like jeans, or a jacket.

i say go for the clothes ♥

not_your_star34 answered Tuesday December 13 2005, 4:35 pm:
Some of their stuff is cute. Not much, though.

For instance, their jeans are insanely expensive, and you can get similar jeans at Kohl's, Target, or wherever, for a LOT cheaper.

Now for the shirts... some of them have sayings that are kind of sexual in nature. If you get a shirt there, make sure that you know exactly what it means. Also, most of their shirts are made of thin material, so you'd have to wear a cami or another shirt under it. Their polos (well, collared shirts) are very expensive as well, and you can get them anywhere! (At A&F, a long sleeve polo-style shirt is $39.50!)
One other thing, too. Many of the shirts just say "Abercrombie and Fitch" in fancy letters, then they slap a $20.00-$30.00 price tag on it.

I wouldn't believe all of the things you hear online, simply because most kids who say something about the store just don't like it because "everyone else wears it."

Basically, they have some cute stuff, but you're paying for the name more so than the quality.

I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

Abercrombie & Fitch is an amazing store, expensive, but it has a lot of cute clothes. Why should you anybody tell you what your style should be? Its what you like its your opinion. but in my opinion I say Yes, because their clothes are comfortable and cute. =)

Abercrombie and Fitch is one of those stores you kind of have to make up your own opinion about. I think that that store is taking cheap clothing labeling it "cool" and then selling it WAY overpriced. Basically what it is is ripped jeans (120$) and tissue paper thin T shirts (35$). If thats the kinda thing your into I say......GO FOR IT! If your like me a cheap laid back thrift shopper it might not be your cup of coffee.
Hope this helps

Mercy_x_Me answered Monday December 12 2005, 7:32 pm:
Here's the lowdown. I find their styles amazingly cute. Different things to layer and dress you up or down. Cute PJ's. But overpriced. Way overpriced. I think you can get equally nice stuff at American Eagle Outfitters for a lot cheaper.

Same quality of clothing, and same type of clothing, only cheaper. American Eagle is no crappy store, trust me. Some of their stuff is pricier when it first comes out but you can get good sales there, and there clothes is worth it.

Sometimes A & F have these paperthin shirts for 50 or 60 bucks...when meanwhile it's see-through and you STILL need to buy another shirt to go under it. It's ridiculous really. Then again, they do have some nice hoodies & ripped jeans. Keep in mind American eagle has that stuff too though & their name is still respectable.

Since it is christmas, I think this of all times would be the best to ask for since you're not paying yourself. Although, if you want to be easy on the people buying gifts for you, you might want to mention American Eagle or ask for one or two specific things at Abercrombie & Fitch, or maybe ask for a gift certificate.

There is a kids version of A & F...just abercrombie. They're a little bit cheaper and their sizes run bigger so you most likely would be able to fit into those clothes too if you want an alternative.

Hope that I've made sense :)

Inbox me if you need to know anything else.

If you like the clothes, wear them! Personally, I think that people only shop there for the brand name and their clothes are bad quality. SOmetimes, you can find a cute shirt and their jeans are FREAKING AMAZING!! i love their jeans. Don't let anyone else tell you what your style should be or what it has to be.

I'm all for dressing uniquely and having personal style, but that's ME, not YOU. Don't let other people tell you how to dress. Wear what you like! Our opinions shouldn't matter. If you think something at Abercrombie is cute, wear it. If you think wearing a huge fuscia fedora is cute, wear it. No one else matters.

Juicygirl answered Monday December 12 2005, 6:45 pm:
I like A&F, it's easy to get casual things from there. My usual spree is sweatshirts, minis, and the softer polos and shirts from there but it has expanded into jeans now since their new embellished denim came out. Fitch is a hot spot for Xmas gifts and from my shopping experience the smaller sizes run out fast.

Another store that I heard was a branch off of Abercrombie is Ruehl. Their stuff is gorgeous layered and OUTRAGEOUSLY comfortable in more easy on the eyes tones. Be sure to check them out too. ;)

DanceTheNightAway answered Monday December 12 2005, 6:32 pm:
Um, I'm personally not a fan since i don't really like the whole polo look and stuff that seems to be really popular now. But as someone mentioned earlier, Abercrombie kids and Hot Topc kids hate each other it seems. I'm a hot topic kid, I love the band T-shirt look, but it all depends on what you're comfortable in, I guess. My best friend is one of those "I love Abercombie" kids, but I deal, and vice versa with my Hot Topic.

Now onto shoes, where do you get yours? I get mine at Journey's by the way, hahaha punk rock shoes and other shit.

It sounds liek you wnated a guy's opinion but w/w lol! First off, it shouldn't matter what people think, but this is the real world and depending on the people you go to school with, you might get labeled as prep or bitch. But really you should care less, because if you like the clothes then who gives a s**t what your peers think? Some people don't like it b/c it's too preppy, but that's just their style so don't worry about it. And some people don't like it b/c it's so expensive, like me for ex. I love their clothes, but they're really expensive so I shop at Hollister instead which is the same company..but way cheaper and with a bird as their logo instead of a moose! Big deal! And really guys could care less what your wearing as long as you look good. Seriously, guys don't pay attention to that kind of stuff..they can't tell the difference between Abercrombie and goodwill so don't even worry about them! Bottom line, if you liek the clothes you should get them! Hope this helped! ♥ caitie

Usually people that hate it are ones that can't afford to shop there or that don't like the whole preppy look. Just like most preps don't like Hot Topic. That store really creeps me out. And then there are people that say they like Hollister but not Abercrombie. But, it's the came company so I don't get that at all. That might have to do with the prices but it's not a reason to hate a clothing store. There are bands that are a hell lot more expensive. Sorry I started rambling..haha

Personally, I hate that store with a passion. They are too preppy, and slutty. Their clothes are cheap quality, and extremely over priced. One pair of pants is like... 100 bucks in that store. A polo you could get at Wal*Mart for 7 bucks is 50 there. Only difference, there's a moose on the Abercrombie one.

I don't care what anyone wears, I choose not to wear their clothing. I like my Marshalls clothes just fine thank you =)

Karen answered Monday December 12 2005, 5:42 pm:
It's a great store, it's just the price of their clothing is the reason why so many people tend to stay away from this store. Don't get me wrong, A&F's clothes are very cute, but I would rather purchase a couple pair of destroyed jeans at Hollister than spend around $100 for one pair of jeans at Abercrombie. If you like the stores clothing, then get them for Christmas. There are other similar stores that you could shop at that are less expensive. That's what I think.

you know what? it doesn't even matter what people think. if you like the clothes, get them. the people who don't like it are people who are anti-preppy. i think labelling all together is stupid.

it's known for being expensive, so if you've got the money, go for it! or even just treat yourself to a couple things. and always make sure you check clearance cause you can get some really cute clothes for a way smaller price.
