ok heres the situation..my parents said i can only get a cat if i can find a place for the litter box so my puppy wont get into it when nobodys home. i cant think of anyplace to put it, any suggestions?
ananas answered Wednesday September 7 2005, 1:27 pm: If you get a cat tower, you could put it on the top. If not, a dresser, or another area that the cat can climb but the dog can't, would work. [ ananas's advice column | Ask ananas A Question ]
mystical_breeze answered Friday August 19 2005, 6:57 pm: You can put it in a closet that no one uses really (like in the laundry room, bathroom, etc.) and only keep the closet door open a little so the cat can get it and use it. When you leave the house, close the door (make sure the cat isn't in the closet though!) so the dog won't get in. Then, when you get back home, open the door again. Alexandria answered Monday August 15 2005, 9:38 pm: Put it on a shelf or whil you r gone you can put it in and the kitty in a big room and close the door that way the dog will not be able to get to it! I hope this works out!
LifesNoStoryBook answered Sunday August 14 2005, 12:39 pm: If you have a screened backporch, you can put it there. Thats what we did with my two cats because my dog kept trying to eat the crap. Haha. Put it some place high up or in a laundry room.

DangerWench answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:31 pm: If your only worry is the puppy getting into it, you could always try an open top "dog proof" litter box like this one:
ncblondie answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:07 pm: Put the litter box and the cat in a room with lots of windows and shut the door to keep the dog out. Another option is to keep the litter box in the bathroom but put up a baby gate to block the puppy from getting in. The cat will still be able to jump over the fence to get to the litter box. M3GHANBUCHERvllybll answered Thursday August 11 2005, 4:42 pm: we keep ours in the basement. i'm not sure if you have a basement or if you do if your dog is trained not to go down there but if that doesn't help, you can put it in your laundry room. mostly my dog doesn't go in there. she also doesn't like bathrooms b/c she doesn't like baths so if your serious about cleaning it out a lot (so it won't smell) you could put it in a bathroom! i hope this helps! if not you can leave one in my inbox about where else to put it!
askmex3 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 2:23 pm: try a laundry room, a bathroom, garage, or a place in your room (if you dont mind the smell)..if your dog can get into these places then try putting putting it somewhere up top! for example on top of the washer or dryer? this way your cat can still reach it but you dont have to worry about your dog getting into it! hope i helped ♥ good luck [ askmex3's advice column | Ask askmex3 A Question ]
CheerChick69 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 2:09 pm: When we had a cat we put ours in our basment. Remember, Cats can climb but puppys cant so maybe it could sit higher and hae a cat climbing thing next to it? Gooodluck! Doesnt need to be too high though.. and if not you can justmake sure you let the dog if it does go in the litter that you mean buissness! lmbo byebye [ CheerChick69's advice column | Ask CheerChick69 A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Thursday August 11 2005, 1:18 pm: my aunt and uncle has 2 dogs, and like 5 cats, so i know what you mean. they keep their litterboxes in the basement and keep the doors open when the dogs are in diff areas of the house where they can see them. but when the cats go down shut the door so the dogs dont follow them. also when they go away they leave the cats in the basement w/ the litterbox and keep the dogs upstairs.
funkymunky817 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 1:15 pm: my dog does the same thing...so what my mom did was get an old desk from a thrif store and put my cats food and litter box up there so that way my cat can jump up there and my dog cant.
and that way you can put it anywhere.
Teza answered Thursday August 11 2005, 1:11 pm: Depends how big your house is and where your puppy is staying. Maybe you could put it in your room if it isnt too small? If you keep it clean it wont smell or anything. You could try to find some room in the basement. I mean the litter box doesnt take that much room so I`m sure you will find something. But you're lucky that you're getting a kitty! I wanted one my whole life! Lol.. good luck though. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
