Does everybody do drugs? Feeling like an outcast...
I have a friend that has been drinking and stuff. I've told her not to but i know she doesn't care. And now everybody is all like yeah i drink a lot and i've gotten drunk and smoked that. It seems like everybody smokes and drinks! it's crazy we're all still young! I don't do that kind of stuff and I feel weird like ppl think it's no big deal drinking and i say it's wrong and they think i'm weird. I'm so confused! does everybody do the drugs? i'm not going to start doing them but should i still speak up and say they're wrong?

Wow I feel the same way as you do. Whatever you do, don't try them. But people i know started smoking even in the 6th grade and it is terrible I agree. They are most likely doing this because of peer pressure or because they have some issues they need to work out. What I don't understand is the fascination of it. They know they will ruin their lives, but that is their choice. You are doing the absolute right thing by not joining in with them and I give you major props for that!

No don't even think about taking drugs that stuff can kill you and the worst part about it is that once you start taking it you can't stop its like you stuck in glue, speak your voice no matter how hard it takes. Its better to do nothing because one day your friend is going to get hurt badly! Let me know if this helps.

I don't do drugs, drink or sleep around. I don't want/need that kind of reputation and I know people with that kind of reputation and it has hurt them. I think that drugs and drinking are terrible (I may reconsider drinking when it's legal). I think that sex when I'm 13 is slutty and if i have premarital sex, I am definitely not going to have it with some 13 year old boy. Enough about me. not everyone does drugs, i hang out with alot of people that do stuff that i def. don't do!!! keep telling them how you feel, in the long run they will thank you for it...

hell no, not everyone does drugs, morons do drugs, i have a lot of really close friends and the only drug they do, is smoke and i don't mean weed. i think that you should start hanging outwith people who don't do drugs, you'll feel more comfortable around those people and less pressured

Leave them to it, seriously, they probably are doing it because they think it's the cool thing to do when it's not. It's just making it blaintly obvious that they're doing it to look cool.
Don't get trapped up in all the peer pressure stuff, just keep beliving in what you belive in and stay well away from drugs and no, not all people do drugs but like I said some people think it's the cool thing to do. Well it's not.

Not EVERYBODY does drugs. Its very popular among young kids, but i guarantee not everyone does it. If you don`t feel comfortable drinking or smoking, don`t. It`s as simple as that. Everyone makes their own decisions. They`re not wrong for it, just because you don`t agree ya know? you`re not weird or anything like that. If you truly believe they`re wrong, then yes..continue to not use them. You can`t pressure other people to not do them though. Everyone makes their own decisions in life.

heyy .. no not everyone does drugs and you are not an outcast and yes still tell them that it is wrong and if they ever try to pressure you into doing drugs or smoking say no because someday they will die for an overdose or get shot by a drug dealer because they owe them money or something doing with drinking and smoking and you will never die from those kinds of things

Yes I think you should i think you should show them what smoking can do for the lungs and what it can cause. Also, you should do the same thing with the drinking! But don't get pressured in to doing it! Hope i helped!

yes you should say that they are wrong! most of the people that say that they smoke or drink dont. they just say it so that they can look good. because they are afraid to speak out against it. i know it seems like everyone does it but the truth is not that many kids in middle school and highschool do it. they are just talking it so they can look good in the crowd that does it. speak your mind and hold strong on it!

Here's the thing. Your friends KNOW they shouldn't do drugs or drink. You don't need to tell them anything. They know and do it anyway, you'll just come off as a prude. However, not everyone does drugs and drinks. It's a matter of personal choice. You make good choices, they make bad choices. You can't protect your friends from the concequences, but you can prevent yourself from following them. I've been lucky in my life that the friends I've had that do drugs and drink too much have always respected my choice not to do either. People that try to push you into something you feel will be harmful and don't want to do are not your friends. You are right that this is a big deal. The choices made now will effect you for the rest of your life. Good luck!

well i dont know how old you are but i am 14 and none of my good friends or i do drugs or drink. it is a HORRIBLE waste of time and doesn't do anything good for you. and YES SPEAK UP. if they dont listen i would recommend trying to get to know other people who are straight egde (dont do drugs). However, i do hope these people listen to you because you could be saving their lives.

You need to say it in a concerned friend way, not just like : YOUR WRONG IM RIgHT STOP! because they DEFINITELY wont listen then.. but you really DO need to say something, you could make a difference in someones life

They think it's no big deal now but just wait until they kill someone because they were DUI,or someone kills them. Hard things to live with I'd imagine...better not to. Good for you! :)

it does seem like everyone smokes and drinks, but not everyone does. i probably know more people who dont than do. but i think it seems like theres more people smoking and drinking just ecause of what it is (if that makes sense, its kinda confusing) but its cool that you dont do any of that, never do. its messes things up, trust me.

Not everybody drinks and take drugs and all vices. It'll just ruin lives and lives. Try talking to them again the bad effects it'll do to their lives. Don't follow them. Feeling like an outcast is better than ruining one's life and regretting it but can't change it anymore. Nevertheless you can just stay away from them. They'll just influence you in doing vices but if you can save your friend. Save her. Being a true friend means caring for your friend. But if she doesn't listen no matter what. Just let it go. At least you tried.

no, not everybody does drugs...dont believe it. because your part of everybody and you dont. that counts as something. just dont listen to everybody, listen to yourself, you dont think they do any good, only bad. thats ok. tell your friends that you dont think its for you and that you wont every do that stuff. if they try to pressure you tell them specific reasons why you dont do it, (bad breath, cough, teeth, addicted, make you do bad stuff, addiction, cancer, asthma, death, w/e the reason may be) but what i do is i just say no and act cool about it, i dont make such a big deal b/c thats what they want to do, its their life, if they want to screw it, then let them. they will learn with time. if your friend is really worrying though i would have a one on one talk with her, and tell her what your thinking....dont tell her what to do though, tell her what you think is right. say what you want girl...dont hold back...

Sure. If you believe that they're wrong, speak up and say what you believe in. Everyone doesn't do drugs. I don't. None of my friends do.

Sadly, sadly, most kids in high school do drink, smoke, and experiment with drugs. It isn't normal to refrain from them, but it IS healthy. I think it's great that you're not getting involved in that stuff, and I encourage you not to.
However, that's not your question. Your question is about what you should do about it outside of refraining. While it's importnat that you make your opinions about it relatively well-known, you have to be careful. Don't condemn it as immoral or stupid, or you will alienate your peers. On the other hand, don't condone it either.
I would recommend that you do what I do--instead of fretting about getting involved in it, just try to get your friends to be safe and responsible. Encourage them to have designated drivers, use moderation, be careful, etc. If you end up at a party with them, watch their drink if they have to leave for the bathroom or something, so no one can tamper with them. If one of them has an addiction, be there for them. If theyt ask you about your stance on the debauchery, go ahead and tell them that you don't think it's a good idea, but add that that's your opinion.
I know it seems stupid, like you're selling out. But not really. You're just putting yourself in a position to help them deal with it. You can't stop them, so just try to get them to be safe.

I'm very opinionated in this type of thing. Yes, true everyone IS doing drugs now-a-days. It's sad because they don't know what they can do to you. One puff of a joint could very well kill you. Who knows, what if you're acutally allergic to the chemicals in the joint. It'd kill you. It's sad how the kids who get involved in that stuff don't realize what they are doing to themselves and how it's harming their bodies. You could give them a shotgun and they could kill themselves faster. You should speak up, but most likely no body will listen because no body sees that it is wrong. It's become a part of our daily lives and everybody sees it as normal. Kind of like sex at the age of 14 or 15, it's becomeing <strong>normal</strong>. I applaud you for being willing to speak up and out of the crowd.

Doing drugs/drinking is a really bad decision and its a pathetic way to get some ass. People do it so they can have an excuse for their actions they wanted to do when they were sober. i guess theyre all like omg i got so stoned last night man..because...well i dont know..its "fun", and trust me youre not an outcast. theres even people out there that pretend that they do it and say they do everyweekend, but when someone passes them a joint they choke up and dont know what to do, its pretty idiotic. i support your decision not do do anything and its pretty mature, besides people who do that shit now are more likely to do alot of more shit when they get older like coke..or severe alcoholism, and that fucks up A LOT of future things. good choice and good luck!
