room
my room is really lame and i hate having friends in it because its not cool. i have basic furniture, tv, computer, but its so boring to be in. any ideas? help!!!

Ask to repaint the room your favorite color. Then do some cool stuff like put stickers on ur TV and put some funky pillows and stuff on the furniture. Buy those really cheap strobe lights ((usually around $18.00 these days)) and put it in your room. put pictures up on the wall and get a black light. Now THAT would be cool. Hope I helped.

I've definately got some ideas!
As i normally do with questions such as these i will list my suggestions!
~Well one good way to liven up a room is lighting... depending on what you like, but sparkley lamps, lava lamps, or any neat, novelty lamps they have in stores. Target is a pretty good store for inresting lighting, but there are a million places where you could look as well.
~Incorporate yourself, your friends and you intrests into your room
~Make a photo colluge on your wall of you and yur friends, to make it more intresting add quotes or something you and your friends share.. also if you have or can get a poster that has just one giant thing on it.. cut out that thing, and fill in the shape with pictures of your friends.
~Make a colluge of anything that you like on your wall. a colluge of cats, or dogs, or even shoe ads. My friend has a very cool wall where it is half pink ads, and half blue ads.
~Another friend of mine has a wall and she has dedicated it to be a wall that she and her friends can doodle on, or write random stuff!
~There is something called magnetic paint... if it intrests you, see if your parents will let you buy it and paint a wall of your room with it.... the wall will become like one giant magnetic board. (the paint only comes in grey, so be prepared to paint another color over it)
~If you like to draw, put your drawings on the walls, if you write poetry, write it on your wall (or at least hang a poem up) etc....
~If you know how to sew at all, get some intresting fabric and stuffing, then make some pillows! If you are a more experienced seamstress, take an outfit that you love, but no longer fits, and make pillows out of them!
~An important element in a teen's room is seating! get cool and intresting chairs from pottery barn, or even target has some neat ones. Bean bag chairs are always a good soultion. If this might be your kind of thing, have a floor seating area, with a bunch of low to the ground chairs, a neat rug, and lots of pillows!
~To change up your room just a little, try rearranging the furniture. This can put a whole new perpspective on your room.
~Ask your parents if you can paint your room, one color, or even several. A neat thing to do is paint one wall a very intense color, then the rest, lighter shades of that same color.
~Accessorize! It's one of the best ways to add intrest to your room. Potted Plants or Flowers in vases, posters, pillows, rugs, blankets, room accessories, or anything like that! Make sure to use plenty of color!

You could possibly buy little knick knacks that make you room unique or paint it a color that will stand out. You can also make things to put on your walls to make the room different.

1. you could go extreme and paint it funky colors and like beaded dorways and stuff
2. Go to hobby lobby and get some simple fabric, beads, glitter glue, w/e just so like decorate exactly h0w YOU want it.
3. ask those frendz to help you decorate your furnuture and computor top with glitter and fabrix, then glue pictures of them on to it.

Hey i HAD the same problem...my room is getting renewed this week cause i had the same idea of my room. It's not that expensive to change your room, its just how you organize it. I just bought a couple of buckets of cute pink paint (fav color) lol and i just organized my furniture different and i THINK it will look cute. But idno whatever turns out turns out lol. you can paint it.. put posters or articles or pictures up. buy more exotic/creative furniture.. decorate your stuff with glow in the dark stars or cut outs from stuff.. umm on my closet doors (my room's kinda bare too) i use to have nothing but like pictures of my friends and signs and stuff they've made me. you can decorate the bed by like putting stuffed animals on it. go out and buy funky/creative stuff from like marshalls or eurway.

yo. my room is boring too. so don't feel bad. oh yeah and here's an idea. when you have some spare time, look in like a funiture magazine. they have some good ideas! another idea is to make your room "techno". like maybe get a disco ball, a funky bed, paint your room funky colors. hope i helped! oh yeah, and about the friend in the room thing, just go everywhere BUT your room when you have a friend over! lol

get some magazines and cut out little says from a whole bunch of magazines and tape them on your walls and get pcitures of your friends and put them up every where. and get a new comforter and some cute lights and cute stuff to put up all over your room . hope i helped

I had the same exact problem as you!!This may sound lame, but it works, go to the dollar store and by like decorative stuff and little plastic gems to decorate your t.v. If you take mardi gras beads and cut them up and decorate things in your room. Just be creative! I hoped i helped you!!

here's the 411 well what i would do is get your parents to paint your room if it isn't already painted or cut designs out that you like and paste them on your walls that way your room would look some what cool or get magazines and cut pictures out from there and post them on your walls maybe organize the furniture in your room design your room the way you feel the way your personality is. hope i helped sunshine

Get People and Seventeen magazines and cut out cool pics, like of hott guys or bands or something, and tape them on your door(s) or walls. You could also go to like Z Gallerie or Pottery Barn and get some colorful stuff to decorate your room, like candles and lamps. And you could tape pics of you and your friends around your room.

My room was the same as your's! Why don't you paint your room a different color, put up pictures of your friends or posters, remodel your room so that everything is located in a different place not as before, get a new bed spread, and so many other things that you can do to your room! Just think of anything that you could do! Hope I helped :)

I just redid my room, and I was in the same boat. I started looking through PBTeen catalogs. They have so many styles in there, there has to be something you like! Even if you just add some cool storage on the walls, and paint your walls a funky color, it would be a lot cooler! My room was white and had basic furniture too. I painted the walls blue, and added shelving that are these colors: pink, green, purple, and blue. They all work together, and now I have much more room for cooler things! I also added pillows in one corner of the room, so I could just lounge around if I wanted to. It's so great, and I'm very happy with it. Paint the walls your favorite color to spice things up! sweet... i just redid my room... yellow! just think about your personality and paint your room the color that you think you ar emost like! (e.g. balck-gothic... etc) i painted my room yellow n i have blue n white for accent colors... and if you cant paint your walls, cover them up!!! buy posters n put up bulletin boards with pix of you n your friends! if you dont wanna pay for new stuff, then just paint it! paint your furniture a new color or maybe buy some cheap stuff at a yard sale... just buy crappy furniture and paint it... itll look like new! just throw stuff you like all over your walls... posters, pictures, collages, whatever you want! color is key! well good luck! hope this helps!

If you have a dry ice around you try going there. They have a lot of cool stuff. Or paint your room a bright color. Maybe put candels and smelly stuff around that always is cool. I hope I helped!

Paint your room with your fave color. My sister did something really cool. She took a double brush and painted it like the ocean. It looks really cool. Put posters of your fave celebs on the wall. Go to your local mall. Find a store that sells cute accesories and buy what you like. You could put beaded curtains on your door. I put all my stuffed animals on my bed or in a fish net in the corner of the room. Get one of those fuzzy rugs and put it by your door. They are really cool and feel awesome. Decorate your room to he style you like. That way when people come in, they'll know what you're like. If your room is more spiced up you will feel more relaxed going in there. Be unique, creative, and have fun! =)

Get a cute comfritor-or how ever you spell it-lol- that is like hot pink or red or something bright to make your room stand out. Then you could get a blue or purple or plum colored rug to make your floor look less plain. Maybe get a few pictures and a few new pillows and maybe some little cute accesories.

Oh there is so much you can do to your room! What you want to accomlish is making your room very personalized, adding your chracter to it to make it very unique. First step, step back in your doorway and look at your room and try to figure out a way to move ALL the furniture in your room around the way that you like it, plus to make it different. 2nd thing, Initals are soooo in this year, Put your Initial on your wall or cover the whole back of your door with your intital. You could buy some blacklights to go in, {depending on your financial resources lol} posters, anything that you like. Pictures out of magazines, buy a white posterboard and cut out magazine pictures and cute sayings and make a collage to put on your wall, there are tons of ideas I could think of. well.. if your a grl.. paint it pink.. oMg!! i knoe thys one grl who painted her room orange.. then layed paper over the floors.. and we splattered blue paint everywhere.. and yeah.. so.. get a color.. then get thyngs to go with it around the room.. and if your a guy.. put up posters and stuff and like..l pics of ur grls.. l0l.. well.. i thynk thats cute!
