is it possible?
ok, my friend did this project in health class, and she used this article (i think it came from the newspaper). It was a 5 year old and she was pregnant! Is that possible or is it just a lie? (but newspapers dont really lie..so??)

i doubt that's true:-/ the 5 year old would have to be a VERY early bloomer!! bc the only way you can get pregnat is if you're ovulating. n most 5 year olds dont ovulate at that age. plus she would have to have sex! and unless she was raped i'm sure she wouldn't go out and find a guy to have sex with. so i highly doubt that story was true...

ok, it's possible for her to get pregnant, because there have been cases of babies getting periods. But who would do a 5 years old. Anywyas ... it is possible for a year old to become pregnant if she has her period, but not for her to have the baby. Her body couldn't take it.

no the news papers were lyin, a 5 yr old cant get pregnant, unless they have there period, and im pretty sure a 5 yr old cant get there period yet. hope i helped

no..thats not possible for a 5 year old to get pregnant! girls have to get their period first before they have a baby..and 5 year olds don't get their periods that early in life. what i'm thinkin is that it was a typo! maybe it was suppose to say 15! that makes more sense! =)

well its hard to see that as the truth....cuz u cant have a baby if u didnt get ur period or if u didnt "do it". enless the 5 year old had both sex and her peride, i doubt she was pregnant...sometimes people pretend there kids are "strange" just to get publisity

It most likely came from the National Inquirer, which, pretty much means it was once upon a time based on something real and then stretched and changed into a shocking story. This "newspaper" uses words that allow for the story to be changed without blatantly 'lieing' to the public.
So, most likely, this isn't possible, because I doubt a 5 year old would be fertile. And if it is true, thats just messed up.
Do some research on google and try typing in 'pregnant 5 year old', or something to that effect. You might be able to find either the article itself, or web pages that expose the truth or how the story is not real.

yeah..i heard about that the 5 year old pregent...but im not sure..i think it aint possible becasue you need to have your period to have a baby..theres no other way..unless the 5 year old did have its period that young...doubt that..lol...well in my opion it cant happen.at least i dont think,,,so hope i helped take care..need any more jus drop in the box

She proably got it out of the Enquire (all lies and scandels!) so its not true. In order to get pregnant you have to have already started your period (which happens at puberty!) and there is no way a 5 year old is capable od that!! :D -*-Sonnie-*-

I don't think that's possible. In order to get pregnant you have to get your period. And I honestly don't think a 5 year old would get they're period at that young. Maybe she made up the whole thing. Which I think she did. Good Luck! <3

It's very true actually. It happened years ago and there hasn't been a case since, so if it's a recent article your friend used then it's a lie.

it is not possible. In order to get pregnant you have to been having your period first. and at the age of five. it is clearily nto possible to have your period at that young of an age. Newspapers do lie, but maybe not intentionally. So yes it is possible that the newspapers lied about it. -amber-

That sounds quite impossible to me. What news paper was it from? The Star or some other trashy tabloid newspaper?
