How necessary a protein shakes for weight loss & toning up?

Hi, I'm a 20 year old female, currently on a journey to lose 50lbs and tone up. I'm eating healthy, about 1.100-1.400 calories a day and working out 3-4 times a week.
I've heard that protein shakes are good for females trying to lose weight & gain some muscle definition but I don't know how true this is.
Is there anyone who has experience with this and can give me some basic information? This is for research purposes. I will of course speak to my doctor before changing anything but I would love to have some information or insight on this.

So something is wrong with me...girls rate me pretty high in looks and as a person i can't really say im bad.. but for some reason i always get rejected! Hii... 14\F I really like this guy , I dream of him and think of him 24\7. I tried but I just can't get over him. he is turning 19. My iPad isnt responding after ios 7 update

Okay so I have got an Ipad 2 with 32 GB
I updated the ios 7 on it and after that I turned it on and there was just the apple sign. But it didnt turn on at all. I thought this was part of the update so I waited 2 days but Its still in the same situation. Every now and then the apple sign goes away and theres just the black scren. Then there was this iTunes sign that I should plug it in with iTunes. So i did that, and i updated the latest verion of iTunes, then plugged the cable in to my ipad but iTunes couldnt find my device. What could I do? Thanks!

hi, we've been together for almost 3 years. he's got a daughter with his ex girlfriend. but when we argue he says, 'they're no threat to you.' what's that exactly mean? and also whenever i mention them to him he's says he doesn't want to hear or talk about them. why? he's quite defensive of them as well. why? help please. thanks

So my boyfriend and i just got into a fight and he told me that the reason he stopped giving as muh effort in the relationship is because i changed him into someone hes not. I need ideas for a book

I am thirteen years old, and I've decided I want to write a new book. I wrote my first book when I was nine or ten, and it was a completely made up, and all that. Now I want to write another little story, but I just can't decide what the title should be. I want something I can really build on, like about 200-300 pages like my other book. If you have any suggestions I'd like to hear them, because I'm kind of stuck right now.

Computer is in safe mode... What should I do?

So, several months ago (Like in April or May maybe) I was just on the internet, and all of a sudden my computer just shut down. I tried restarting it several times, but it would just get on desktop for like three seconds, and then it would shut down again. It only works in safe mode now, and when I try going into regular mode, it like has this "loading files into crash dump" thing, and it restarts itself again. Any ideas? We don't have the money to buy a new computer right now, and I'd really like to fix whatever's happening. Any advice is really appreciated, please help!

Vanity/dresser/ desk

I'm 13 and I just moved into a new house. I have a dresser and it came with a mirror, then my aunt gave me a vanity and it also has a mirror. But the thing is is they can't fit my whole body so I will probably need a full length mirror. But although I love looking at myself when I have friends over it will be too many mirrors. What should I do?
Extra info: I don't wear makeup, I love doing my nails, I really need a desk, I was thinking of turning the vanity into a desk, idk how to turn my vanity into a desk (if I decided to do that)

So, today my 7-month-old cat, Jimmy, was trying to catch a wasp near our window, and he got it in his mouth, but then spit it back out. We think it might have stung him. Is this something that we should talk to the vet about? Is it no big deal? Could he be allergic? Please help us!

Where to move from rural KY?

I live in rural KY. I am a registered nurse. I really want to get out of this area but have no idea where to go. I am a single mother of a 7 year old little girl. I would like to move to the outside of some city..I would like it to be a walkable city that has tons of things to do for my daughter. I would like safe schools and not terrible high cost of living. I need to stay within 6 hours or so of western KY. ANyone have any ideas where to go. I really want to move somewhere coastal but with my daughter needing to see her father that is not an option at the moment.
