what do you burn in this and what is it called..

i painted this glass thing n its like small n hollow with a hole to put a candle in it then theres a dish on top. i need to figure out what it is called and what you can burn on it.. but i have noo idea what to even type in on the computer to look for it because i dont know what its called any ideas? could it be to burn powdered insence or candle or..?

what are some good/cheap ways to decorate for halloween? like my front yard, steps leading upstairs to my home, driveway even inside my home

planning for party in a week

i feel rly stupid for putting this question in this category but w/e... 16/m ....so on oct. 17th my parents will be out of town and im having a little party after this thing at my school. I only plan on having like 10ppl or so not rly a party but w/e. and i just want some ideas of what i should do to not make it boring, like last year i planned for this huge halloween party so it was easy cuz i just set up the whole house for a party and bought a lot of beer. but this year its basically just to like chill out and stuff, but i dont want to make it boring either... ill accept any suggestions

House Building Resources?

I will be getting about 5 acres of land from my parents' subdivision (they're selling the farm and moving out) and I would like to put a house on it. I have already applied for a road access permit so I can build a road. However, while I'm waiting for that to go through, I was wondering if anyone has ideas for resources or tips on building a rural home that would be sustainable?

Personalizing & re-doing my room

I really want to make my room more "me", but I don't really know where to start. I don't like a single thing in it. I'm all about peace, so I want my room to somehow reflect that. I was going to paint the walls green or blue. I was thinking of putting up a bunch of posters too, but I'm not sure where I'd find them. I have carpet so I can't really get any rugs or anything. I don't know. What all can I do to make it more personal?

college dorm

Okay so i'm going to print out a bunch of my pictures this weekend and i want to put them on my wall in a cool way..not just in like a big square. Last year i spelt out 'life' with them, but i want to do something new. Any ideas for words, shapes, or designs? thanks

Dark Dorm

My one and only window in my dorm faces south and is surrounded by trees and I get really minimal natural light even at high noon. I have a table lamp but thats just my warm glow type of light that I use at night and then I have an overhead florescent light that mind as well not be there because its the most terrible light I've ever seen and it doesn't do anything. Oh and the walls are a dingy mossy green. I really need ways to brighten the place up because its so dark and depressing. All of my sheets and accessories are white and I obviously can't paint.
Help!! Its a dungeon!

Is it early for fall decorations?

My favorite time of the season is fall. I love it so much that everytime I go to the store I always buy some little something to add to my decorations, all of which are being stored in a box in my attic. My question is, today Sepetember 1st, is it too early to decorate for the fall season? My family and I just moved in this neighborhood less than a month ago and I don't want them thinking we're odd balls lol. I really want to go ahead and decorate, the inside of my home is already FALLtastic lol, but just not sure if it would be weird. Thanks for any help I can get.

Need decorating ideas!!!

My kitchen and my living room are in the same room. The kitchen is about 13 feet, and the living room is right next to it and is about the same measurement. We are redoing our kitchen so its a lot nicer looking. The dilemma i am having is decorating. Since there is no wall separating the kitchen and the living room, i have to do the same color theme for each room. We are putting wood floorig through out the entire house too. I want to give the area a really fresh, and polished look.
So if anyone has any ideas on how to decorate my kitchen/living room (color themes, furniture, etc) please help me out!!! Thank You!

A) What was your favorite thing about your dorm room?
B) What do you wish you had brought?

Ideas for new bedroom

I am moving house and I need ideas for decorating my new bedroom!
I am open to suggestions. I have nooo idea about what colours etc to do, the only thing I know is that I'm having a double bed, big wardrobe, timber floors and I am getting a big photo frame to hang on my wall with black and white photos of my family, friends and boyfriend.
Does anyone have any amazing ideas?

Pillowcase Design!

so every year for a trip i make a new pillow case.
i take a white pillow case and draw on it with sharpie, they come out really cool. i put all these love quotes on it with my name in the middle last year. and the year before that, i put song lyrics on it.
any ideas?!

Apartment

I'm looking for an apartment and I don't really know much about them. There's no adult in my life that can help much either. I'm just curious as to the size of an apartment. It doesn't need to be big at all, but it needs to accommodate three people semi-comfortably. Is 615 sq. feet extremely small? If so, what would be a good size (in sq. feet) for an apartment if three people are going to be staying there?
As I said, we're not looking for anything huge. We can't afford it (ha). But we want it to be big enough to where we don't have to sit on each other's laps.

backyard

hi!we had an addition put on 38,000.00 master bedroom in the back of the house.they dug up the whole back yard just about.there was a yard full of grass and now there is non.it doesn't say anything in the contract about fixing the back yard.should they b held responsable to make it like it was?

bedding for new room

hey i'm 16/f. my mom just bought a new house, and i absolutly love music, so i'm doing a music theme to my room. i have some really cool ideas, but i only have one problem. i can't find good bedding to go with it. i've been looking on wakeupfrankie, pb teen, jc penny, and all those but i can't find anything good. my room (not my choice) is this really weird green color. kinda hard to explain, so the bedding would need to be like black or lightish blue. i just want something simple, like with music notes or a guitar or something on it, but still cute so it doesn't old ladieish haha. ok so thanks!!!

My Area! Yoga Room! Relaxing Room!

My sister just moved out. Her room was in the basement, and used to be a kitchen so there are cabinets and a sink and a stove. the owner refuses to take it down. I want to make this MY AREA! i plan to put in a futon, tv, maybe my computer and just have it be my "extra" room. The walls are white and the bottom half is light wood. I am not renovating, just redecorating/painting. I want some tips on what color I should paint the top half, the bottom is light stained wood. i want a relaxing but bright tone. It is in the basement with no window! What color do you suggest. Remember warm, inviting color that still brightens up the room?

Burnt carpet?
