Is being shy really that big of a deal?

I need to vent, I am SO tired of hearing from every single person that i meet that I'm sooo shy and quiet-yes i think i know myself by now thanks. Seriously why is it such a huge deal that everyone has to comment on it? Yes, im quiet and shy, but it's usually only around people that i dont know. When I'm around friends and family im pretty outgoing and I talk...but when i meet new people, I just cant help it, im a quiet person. I just want to snap when someone says it, its like yes i know im quiet lol, not everyone is extremely bubbly and loud! Is being shy and quiet really that big of a deal to people? Some people say "well maybe you should be more outgoing", but thats not how i am naturally, im quiet!

paranoid about everything

Hi so ok i've noticed for a while now i've been paranoid. when i was in elementary, middle, and high school i was bullied. in middle school these girls would prank call my house, and even know when the phone rings i get paranoid that it might be someone bad. and in high school i always thought people were talking about me. i even confronted them and i ended up getting bullied. i've been seeing a therapist and i always tell her i am paranoid about people talking about me and she thinks nothing is wrong and i haven't told her about the phone calls i am so paranoid about. i get paranoid about the phone calls when my parents around. today this boy and girl that sit behind me were laughing when i was about to sit down and i thought they were lau...

My friend's sister is really annoying sometimes

I have this really good friend, we're both girls and in 9th grade and her little sister, a few grades lower, thinks we're also close friends. I like her and all but she's always inviting herself over and keeps asking when I say no or hang on or I don't know, and when she does come over she eats my food, bullies my brother and doesn't listen to my parents. She also argues with her sister when they're over and doesn't listen to us. I don't want to hurt her feelings because she's kinda my friend but what should I do?

What the guy I like thinks of me?

I have a problem. See, I really like this guy but I have no clue what he thinks of me. Sometimes, I find excuses to talk to him in a group when I have the chance to make a comment. But, no actual conversation has occured. At least twice I have caught him stare at me for a long period of time. Today, I looked over and he was staring. I can't even explain the look. It's like the world runs normal around everyone else because he is his usual goofy self. He never seems like he could be shy. He seems so confident. Okay, well to start off my boy friend and I have been together for a year now, and this person has became so close to me, and I care for him very much. I'd do anything for him.
He doesn't have a family who is really there for him, his mother lives in Alabama and he doesn't know who his father is, so he lives with his grandmother, and great great grandmother. His mother was into drugs and all that :/

He has been acting different again. He's pushing me away again. The thing is, I was supposed to call him around 12 last night to go to sleep on the phone. The reason why I say 12, that was because he gets out of class around 9:50, so I thought he wanted some time to study. But I was exhausted, I did only 3 subjects of homework 5 hours straight, so I was tired. I tried to keep myself awake while I was waiting. 11 PM, I fell asleep, I woke up and I was panicking because it was 2:45 AM. :( I called him right away and he didn't seem happy at all. He didn't say, "i love you" or anything, and went straight to sleep.

Why am i still cutting?

well i'm a 22 f and i started cutting at about 16. it started due to the death of my mother and then the remarriage of my father to a total control freak who for some reason hated me from day one. but now i don't know why i'm still cutting i've delt with alot but most is better now. i was in a really abusive relationship but now the guy i'm with now treats me great and we've talked about marriage and everything. i get along with my dad and step mom and have my own place and a job and great friends. whats wrong with me i still cut even though nothing is bad. have i become dependant on how it makes me feel better. ps i was on antidepressants but they made it worse so i was taken off the at 18. what can i do? please help

My cousin is treating me like crap

I'm a 15 yr. old girl. My cousin is also 15. He has been fighting with me a lot lately and he's gotten closer to our 16 yr. old girl cousin. I feel a little left out because she and I were close at one point. Now my boy cousin is treating me like crap for no reason. He told me he wants nothing to do with me but when I ignore him he gets mad. I have asked him what the problem is and he tells me he doesn't know. I am in one of the best relationships I have ever been in. I am 43 yrs old and finally found the one guys that i have so much in common with. I'm a junior in college and freshman year I met this kid Mike. We talked/saw each other out at parties every once & a while first semester. Then one day over the summer after freshman year I was at the beach and he came over to say hi and we talked a bit more. Sophomore year we talked when we saw each other, but I never saw him out. Now it's junior year and we've pretty much lost all connection. Whenever I see him neither of us say hello or anything, but we always make eye contact. Would it be weird to say hey this coming semester when I see him? I know we haven't spoke in awhile, but I think it's kinda impossible for him to competely forget who I am. I'm just nervous that is the case haha. Any advice would help, thanks!

My boyfriend keeps looking for an argument to break-up and once we do hes gone for a few weeks then he appears again like nothing happened or it was my fault he says Im to stubborn and I never call or text him first but when I do he always says hes busy and will get back to me later...He calls me once in a while during the day then he tells me his phone died or hes gonna go sleep and he will talk to me later. He texts me random messages and is always texting even when hes out with me but he claims he loves me and only me and he told his whole family about me and says he wants to marry me when we end things he says hes not going to chase after me anymore but re-appears in my life again just when im adjusting to the idea of being without him....
