okay im thirteen and i want to learn japanese and my father said he would buy me rosetta stone and i wanted to know if learning japanese is really hard to do. doyou recomend rosseta stone or anything else

Japanese consists of learning the language in two different forms: the actual spoken language and the symbols of the language, if that makes sense.

I've had a lot of people tell me it's easy and a lot of people tell me it's hard. It really depends on how you look at it and how much you're willing to put into learning it. If you put a lot into learning, it might be easier. If you just are whatever about it, it might be harder. Dedication is key with learning a new language.

I know nothing about Rosetta Stone, but it seems like it could work, based on online reviews.

Think of it this way, if the guy you liked was really the right guy for you, he wouldn't take something as small as a bad haircut as something SO horrible that he just couldn't associate with you.

Most likely, guys ignore that type of stuff, so I honestly wouldn't worry about it to much. If someone gives you crap about it- tell them to shove it.

We all get bad haircuts, it's normal. But in a few weeks, you won't even remember it.

Step 1

Some guys are really attracted to Asian girls, and I'm not really sure why. Maybe because some are actually very beautiful, and most of them are skinny [excuse me if I'm generalizing]. Sometimes guys just go for foreigners.

Personally, I'm not that attracted to them. I go more for Caucasian girls myself xD.

Okay. So I don't know what to do as far as organization for school this year. Last year I used a separate binder for each subject, as I did the year before. I was organized, but bringnig that many books home was always a hassle, and my shoulder was strained every day from carring my bookbag home everyday.

I'm going to be a junior this year... and I don't know what to do! I was thinking about getting a notebook for each subject (each about 500 pages) and then 2 of those portfolio-like things that have 5 different folders (i don't know how to explain them, i hope you know what im talking about ) to put worksheets & whatever else in them.
Does that sound like a good idea? If not, any other suggestions?

Definitely do not mix folders for classes- you'll lose things within the first couple of weeks, I promise you that.

See what your teachers suggest, as in, only a few of them might suggest you get a three-ring binder for their class. Some might only suggest a thin folder and some may suggest nothing.

Ask your teachers if you should get the 5-folder portfolio notebook [I know what you're talking about, I use one for Calc]. Really those are more for note-taking classes, so try to figure out which are like that.

If you don't want to carry all of your folders home, maybe leave some in your locker and only take the homework sheet that you need and any notes from that day that may help you complete the homework. That's what I did for Chemistry a lot last year because I just couldn't carry everything.

Leave some things at home, and if you know what you'll need for the next day, take that to school and leave the rest of the folder at home. It's no use carrying everything around if you don't have to =].

Now, I'm not trying to stereotype here so please don't assume that.
But, I was just wondering:
Would a teenage guy's friends really make fun of him if he was in love with his girlfriend? What I mean is, would his friends mock him for being in love?
I just seem to see it all the time in the media. And yes, I know, you shouldn't believe all that the media tells you. I just wanted to know really if this happens.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm just curious that's all.

Normally it isn't as bad as the movies depict it. Yes, guys are brought up to not show emotion, but I wasn't brought up like that. I would never make fun of a friend because they were in a relationship, and I don't surround myself with the type of people that would. It really depends on the guy, but mostly they won't pick on the relationship because they have more maturity than they let on.

This is sort of a rare question. You see my father died in August of last year, and now it's just me and my older brother living in the house for now. My mom moved, and I am the only daughter of my dads, therefore half of the house is mine. Anyways at first I was paying all the bills up until 4 months ago. Now I only give so much and my brother is paying mostly everything. The thing is he has ALOT of friends that come over all hours of the day and night. shower,eat,party etc. And I feel it has gotten out of hand because he's a nice guy and they take advantage of that. I was not comfortable in my own house. So I asked him if he could tone it down. Do I have that right? He agreed but I feel like I have some nerve. I just don't want to lose the house or end up in jail. I am 39 and hes 46. Still very popular

I know nothing about the legality behind this situation, but I think since the house is half yours, I don't think it was wrong of you to ask him. I mean since it's your house AND his house, if something is happening in the house that both of you aren't in agreement with, then there should be some compromise, naturally. So asking him to tone it down isn't rude, and I don't think he will take it as rude. If he does, just let him know that's not how you meant it.

There's this guy that I just met [well, not really "met", but I knew who he was but then I got to know him] maybe like, 2 weeks ago and we've been talking almost every day since last week and I've kind of started to like him. We just went to the movies together the other day, but it wasn't a "date", we mutually agreed to go together and my friend tagged along, but she didn't sit with us. However, on the phone, we talked and he kept saying we were just "good friends" who are going to the movies together and how he didn't understand why my friend kept thinking we were more or something.

It seems like he likes me though because we just talk SO MUCH and I don't know a lot of guys that talk that much. And we talk at night until like, 1AM. What do you think?

I think, since he talks to you on the phone a lot, there definitely is a slight attraction, and likely a crush, too ;]. Guys have a hard time getting close to a girl and not falling for her for at least a little while.

Here are other signs that a guy might like you:

1. They don't call you "sexy". They call you "beautiful", "gorgeous", "amazing", etc.

2. They make an effort to hug you. They might high-5 instead, but it really depends on the guy in question.

3. They DO find any reason to touch you in some way. Mostly it ISN'T in a sexual way. Its more of just an excuse to remember what you feel like, I guess. Its hard to explain...

4. He is always smiling around you. If you're feeling bad and he's around- he'll be smiling because he knows that he's there to help you- and that's like brownie points for a guy if they can help a girl out. That, like the above, is hard to explain.

5. He'll tell you things about himself that he normally wouldn't tell everyone. He opens up to you. Guys don't get a chance to do that when pressured to "be manly".

6. If you have a feeling that a guy likes you- you're probably right. Guys aren't the best at hiding it- and girls are even better at figuring these type of things out.




Guys will say they don't like you when they actually do. It's quite common, and I know that because I do it, too ;].

Okay, i went to a party a couple weeks ago and this guy thought i was cute and i thought he was cute to. We exchanged numbers through our friends and started texting and talking to eachother and so now we are "talking." We onlysaw eachother from like 10 or 15 ft away so he might not of seen my facial features. The only bad thing is that i don't get very many boyfriends and this popular cute guy thinks i'm cute and i think once he sees me up close that he won't think i'm pretty anymore. I mean why would a cute guy like him fall for a girl like me? I mean i'm not the prettiest girl in the world but i don't think i am the ugliest either. What do i do?

The fact that you're still talking, even through texting, means that he has some interest in you. And because he didn't really see you, the "friendship" isn't really based on looks, unless he did see you. But since texting doesn't involve looking at each other, the chances of that are low.

I say try hanging out with him in person and see what he's like. If he stops talking to you because he thinks you're ugly, well then he's not the type of guy to be with. If it doesn't phase him [and I'm sure you're not ugly; ugly is a state-of-mind. I personally think everyone is beautiful in their own way. I know, cheesy, right? ;],] then he could be a really good guy to be with.

okay so first things first, don't preach to me about how i shouldn't be doing bad things blahh blahh, just answer the question. so about a month ago i got caught with a lighter, and a shot glass, kcool. everything was back to normal with my family in a matter of hours. then, like a week after my mom found my pipe and rolling papers, everything was back to normal and i was allowed to go out again that weekend. but, the day i went out, i got brought home by the police at like 4am. my family's acting normal again like nothing happened, but i'm afraid to ask to go out anymore, do you think they'll let me do stuff anytime soon?

To answer your question, if they've been lenient in the past, I don't see why they wouldn't be now. Maybe they let you go out all the time because the still trust you. I guess that's a good thing, but I would talk to them about it all, and see how they feel about your behavior. If they approve of it, well then that's their decision; if they are disappointed but are just afraid to punish you for it, well then that's when you should start cleaning up your act, that is, IF that's what you want. I'm not telling you what to do, because I think you already know it's wrong.

Something was left on my door, like an official piece of cardboard paper. It says it's from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management Federal Investigative Services. The note on it says, "It is necessary that I speak with you regarding an individual who is being considered for a position of trust with the U.S. Government. Your comments regarding this individual's fitness and suitability would be greatly appreciated." It also has the name and phone number of an investigator on it.

Does anyone know what this is about?

I guess the government wants to talk to you about someone who may be looking for a job with the government. They are doing this so that they can decide if this person is "fit" and "suitable" for their job.

If you don't know of any friends who were applying for a job with the government, then I guess I would say pretend like it never came.

If you want to see what it's about, maybe call the number and ask.

Unless they said something like "It's imperative that you respond", then I'm sure it's alright if if you didn't call or anything.

I have never had a boyfriend before. I am thinking of asking a guy out soon. I know this is well-removed, but you didn't get many answers.

Well, there are 2 major options you can go about to solve this problem:


1. Be blunt about it.
2. Be shy about it.


I highly suggest being blunt about it, and either asking him if he's into you too, or simply asking him out yourself. Guys like when girls show confidence, and there's no better way to show you're confident than walking up to a guy and asking him out!


Or, you can go the other route and be shy about it, possibly doing nothing to show him you're interested in him. Sometimes, people who use this method drop subtle hints such as smiling [which is common in girls and doesn't always show you're into a guy] or having a friend ask if he's into you [this only shows that you're too shy to do it yourself]. This option is really kind of stupid, and is used all too much...


As I always say:
Life is WAY too short to not take chances and risks once in a while. Why sit around wondering what could've been, what would've been and what should've been, when you can answer all of those questions and then some by being honest and telling a boy how you really feel about him?

Generally, yes. But the thing is, just because it's safe on an animal, it doesn't mean it's 100% safe on a human. Humans and animals have different chemistries and biologies than each other. But generally, the answer to your question is yes.
