I just got the big container of Simply Apple and there is these nasty looking particles in it. I have had one of the smaller personal ones before and there was nothing like that inside. What is this? Is it safe to drink? Is it normal? (link)

Totally OK.
That is the best part of this style of "fresh squeezed" juice. Simply apple is supposed to look like that, and it tastes wonderful.
Enjoy!

I'm a 14 year old female and my boyfriend and i have been going out for 3 weeks. We were making out and he started taking off my shirt and bra i didn't mind that much so i let him continue and we made out for like 2-3 minutes with my clothes off. I feel like I'm a slut for going that far. He says I'm not but I know he would say that because he wants it to happen again. Am i a slut? (link)

Hi there,
You keep asking this question... Please register an account so you will be sure to know when you get answers.
As for the question, well, 3 weeks seems a little soon, but what is more important is that you are very obviously not ready for this.
Anytime you feel like you are doing something wrong... you probably are.
Here is a promise: You give this boy what he wants, and he will be gone. There are thousands of girls your age on this site that had the exact same thing happen. Guy pressures them for sexual activity, gets it, and moves on to the next girl.
Don't fall for it. Wait until you find a person that respects you enough to wait when you aren't comfortable.

what is up with this? i got a part time job at a retail store that just opened a month ago in my local mall and for the first 2 or 3 weeks i was on the schedule and worked the hours when they needed me, and always showed up on time and did what i was supposed to. every month we get a calendar to write down the hours we can work for every day and what days we cannot work at all. when i went for training for this job, there were not enough copies of the calendar so i never got one.. during the 1st week of june i had my senior class trip and told one of the managers that i would not be able to work for a certain amount of days and she wrote it down on a piece of paper. when i came back from the trip i called them, and she told me that i was not on the schedule for the week. another week went by and i called again and was not on the schedule.. and this week, is the 3rd week i haven't been on it.
i was gonna cover for my friend before but i had an on call shift and they told me i didnt need to go in. i asked about the schedules for next week and she told me to call back when the store is closed because it was really busy. they still owe me a paycheck too.
its summer now and i really need a job..but this is not working out. i dont even know if i have a job there at this point since im never on the schedule, but they never told me if i was fired or anything. what should i do? (link)
|
Hi there,
There is only one way to resolve this:
Go to your manager, in person, and ask them about this. Express your concerns in a calm, mature manner and they will fill you in on what you should do.
Because you didn't fill in this calendar, this becomes kind of a self inflicted wound I am afraid. Yes, they were wrong not to have enough copies on hand, but I assure you that they expected anyone who didn't get one to ask for one asap. Things like this happen more often that you would think.
As for calling in, nothing good ever comes of that. Go see them in person. Trust me on that one.
Please let me know how it works out when you leave feedback.

Hey guys I'm turning 19 on june 30th. And I have no clue what to do. My parents are not doing anything for me they could care less, and all my friends are out of town. So basically I want to do something fun by myself? Or maybe with one of my cousins. And I don't have money.and I don't like clubbing I'm a good girl haha. So yea I know this sucks but I want to make it fun atleast for me. And my parents are horrible they have never cared about me so its not a surprise they won't even remember. I also work but I'm gonna take that day off to do something fun?? Any ideas !! Thanks guys :) (link)
|
I am sorry to hear about the parent situation.
When you say you don't have money, are we talking ZERO cash, or just not a lot?
Here are things for VERY little money:
Picnic with the cousin of your choice. Just have a nice day out at the park, beach or wherever.
I once saw every movie I wanted to on my birthday... just went to the theatre early and saw them back to back. This might be out of reach money wise, but here is an alternate:
Movie night at home with the cousin... or without. 19 isn't too old for an all night sleepover. :-)
If you end up alone... do you have a zoo nearby? They usually don't charge much, and it is easy to spend the day there. No you aren't to big to go into the petting zoo. :-)
If you have enough money for fuel and snacks... birthday road trip to no-place is a great adventure alone or with a cousin. Please be smart about that and don't go anywhere that can get you killed.
That is about all I have for little or no money.
I hope you have an excellent day. Happy early birthday!
Please let me know what you decided when you leave feedback?

I have an interesting scenario. I am applying to work at Best Buy.
My first interview was with HR, I think, and the second interview was with the Department Manager (who is also the General Manager). During the 2nd interview, the GM asked me if I had retail sales experience, and I told him I didn't, but I have customer service experience.
My third interview is later this week and it will be with the Computer Specialist or the Computer Department Head (or someone of that nature, I can't remember).
I originally applied for an $8.00/hour job as a sales associate, and at my second interview, they told me they may consider me for a part-time computer sales position at $8.50.
Will my third interview be a general interview or will it be a technical interview? I am very confused, as the third interview is usually with the GM.
Also, do you think I got the job since this will be my third interview and I've met with the Department Manager/GM?
Please help :S it's this Tuesday morning (June 29th). (link)

Hi there,
Just a couple notes on your progress here:
There is NO "usually" with anything above the fast food level.
I have personally interviewed people seven or eight times before final decisions were made. This is rare, but four or five times is very common.
Sounds from here as though they were happy with you on the second interview, but thought of another slot where you would make a better addition to the company.
If they like you there, you may speak to someone over that person before you talk to the hiring manager, which is, in this case, probably the GM.
These may both happen in the same day, or they may call you back in again.
From here, it sounds like you are on track for a job.
As someone else mentioned... relax. These things take time.
Frankly, finding any job at all in an economy like this is getting to be a real challenge, but people forget that it is a challenge for the employers as well.
How? Well, most places are drowning in resumes and the people applying are desperate. This means they are willing to work what they can get.
Every manager hopes that someone with 10 years experience will walk through the door, and now it happens every day. This is why you are fortunate to find an entry level job at all. Most are being filled by people who wouldn't have dreamed of working them only a year or two ago.
An astrophysicist once took my order at McDonald's after General Dynamics closed unexpectedly... ponder that one for a sec.
Anyway, long story short: Everything sounds good.
The interview coming up is likely to be both technical and general knowledge... just to see where you fit in on the tech scale.
Relax. Be yourself. Don't try to be more tech savvy than you are. You will either look stupid (if the person knows what they are doing) or you will get hired for a job that you don't have any idea how to do (if the person hiring is fooled.)
I have interviewed a truly frightening number of people and if I could tell them just one thing before they came in it would be this:
Jobs are very often more about how you fit into the team than what you know, so be yourself.
If you fit in, then you will get the job. If not, then trust me... you didn't want to work in a place you would clash with others anyway.
The rest of your life, please remember that info and it will serve you well.
Please let me know what happens at your interview when you leave feedback.
Hope you like how you look in blue and yellow. :-)

I am a 23 year old female and I was raised Christian in a very religious family. As I grew up and started to form my own opinion I decided to not refer to myself as a Christian. I have not been to church since I turned 18 and moved out. I believe in God 100% but I do not believe in Christianity. I feel as if apart of me doesn't believe in religion. I'm trying to decide if maybe I just haven't been exposed to the right religion. Or maybe I shouldn't classify myself as one religion. Maybe I should just love God, live right, and treat people good and not study one religion. What should I do? (link)
|
You know, there is one thing that nobody mentioned yet and that is that most people who call themselves Christians are either deceived or flatly lying.
I understand right where you are coming from. I had the good fortune to stumble into this:
Click here, then the listen link:
http://www.livingwaters.com/learn/hellsbestkeptsecret.htm
... this changed my life.
Once you realize that Christ said EXACTLY what he expected of his followers, and somehow almost nobody these days does any of these things... you start asking questions.
Those questions lead me here:
https://www.heavensfamily.org/ss/false_grace_gospel
... and that was the thing that really drove the point home: People can call themselves whatever they like, but unless they meet the qualifications for the title they gave themselves, they aren't what they say.
So here I was realizing that I was deciding Christians were full of it... when I didn't even know what it really was to be a Christian.
I promise if you listen to the first link you will want to read the second, and no matter what you decide you will be smarter about this so that if anyone ever challenges your decisions you will be able to give exact reasons for your choices.
People who make decisions they can't explain reasons for come across as idiots. Been there, done that. ;-)
Please let me know what you think after you have listened to to the first link and hopefully read the second.
I would LOVE to hear your feedback on either or both. Why? Because I have been right there with you.
I found myself going God just can't be like the people I know from Churches. So Christians must be false, and church is bogus. Turns out those people that turned me off to Christ didn't know the first thing about being a Christian.
What a joke!
Take care and I look forward to hearing from you.

ok my question envolves 4 people. i was with my ex bf for 2 years. about a year in the realtionship i slept with a ex co worker of his which was our friend. and stayed sleepin with him through the rest of the relationship. to this day i still am. so for a year i cheated, but hey i enjoyed it. after a month of cheating i began to gain feelings for this guy. this guy also has a girlfriend that he has had for 6 years. so for 14 months we both cheated with eachother. i had my bf and he had his gf. neigther one of our partners kno whats goin on. i feel that i now have loved him for a while, he tells me he loves me also. he says he gets jealous when i talk to another guy. i kno i want to be with him but his gf is blockin that from happening. oh by the way i am 22 and the guy is 37. i believe he really cares about me but i cant seem to win him over. he is only with the gf because she has insurance for his 2 kids. like i said i love him and i kno i do and i cant just give up on him. not after a year of this has been goin on. my question is do you think i should give up when i kno there is a chance of winnin him over or should i keep up with my heart? he is all i think about, i have been singel for 6 months now (other than him) and everyone i talk to.. its not the same and when he finds out it hurts him. i cant really get involve with anyone because when i talk to someone or hold someone i see him not the new person. but like i asked what should i do? stay with him or give up? (link)
|
You know, I wouldn't wish what is coming on anyone, but it really is hard not to say that you two deserve each other.
Let me ask you this: He is cheating on you, with another girl... his girlfriend. Does this bother you?
If he does ever leave her, which he probably will not, then when you are "the girlfriend" he WILL be cheating on you. How can I know this? Well, because he knows you are a cheater, he has zero respect for you and I can prove it.
If he had any respect for you, he would choose one way or the other. You or the the person he chose to take care of his children. If he thought you would be a better mom, he would have already left her for you.
He doesn't pick, because he KNOWS that as long as any time you go out with another guy all he has to do is act hurt and he can keep sexing you, the girl he wants taking care of his kids, and probably a couple more girls you don't even know about yet.
You know, I don't have anything against you and I mean this from the best possible place: Please wise up before you end up in your 50s still waiting for some guy who is just using you. Please.
In ten years, you are probably going to look back on this as the single worst thing you have done in your life, and wonder what in the WORLD you were thinking. I would say anything to spare you that, but I don't know anything else to say except for something that doesn't sound very nice:
Please have some respect for yourself. If you don't have respect for yourself, I promise you that nobody else you are with is going to respect you either.
Please think about your life in 10 years if you keep cheating and encouraging someone else to cheat on you... It isn't pretty. Please don't end up there.
Please?
|
Sorry, "mental health" was the closest category i could find, haha :D
AH so this is an odd question, i'll try to make it sound serious though...
So, it's never really bothered me before...
But I realized lately that i find WEIRD things...attractive. like, sexy, whatever you want to call it.
Like, I don't know how to describe it really. I just find things that people normally dont care for, really sexy. only with guys, by the way, and its a bunch of different, random things...its always the little tiny details i focus on, though.
haha this question sounds so stupid...it's very frusturating that i can't explain it.
ok so here are a few examples off the top of my head...
-when guys adjust their ties(or look nervous in general, really)
-the way the joker slowly turns around/slowly lifts his head up... (in the dark knight)
-little facial twitches guys make (again, being nervous, also being suprised or angry)
-small, quick noises some singers make while..singing. cant describe that too well.
-aang the avatar when hes ...powerfully bending...HAHA wow...im a loser...on the other hand...PRINCE ZUKO when hes really pissed and/or...powerfully bending fire. haha what is WRONG with me
-on tv shows/movies, when a guy will say something really little, like one word, where they'll say it in a husky tone, or their voice will waver or something like that...and i just replay that one second of them saying the little thing over and over because i love how it sounds...
-im 15, and it seems as though i tend to find older men attractive...like, much older men. i usually, ahem, CRUSH, on guys anywhere from their late twenties (such as heath ledger) to their early 50s (such as alec baldwin). i really never like teenage celebrities or guys in their earlier 20s...i would prefer Michael C. Hall to taylor laughtner ANY DAY! ;)
-i dont really find guys' bodies that attractive...i mean...DONT get me wrong, a tan guy with a sixpack is great, but i dont seem to obsess over them as much as a lot of my friends...for example, most of the conversations between us while talking about guys go like:
friend- OH MY GOD he has such a gorgeous BODY!!!!!!
me- yeah i guess...he has a weird face though...
hahaha wow this is really pathetic..but dont worry people, i can laugh at myself.
but..ultimately, i was just wondering if anyone else finds themself doing anything similar to this? or am i just a complete freak? haha.
oh, this isnt some weird fetish or something, right? that would suck...
thanks! (link)
|
Razhie is right... you are way ahead of the curve in the honesty department, but light years ahead in the ability to verbalize your likes and dislikes.
I am guessing you are fairly mature for your age in general?
Anywho, there is just no way to explain some of the things each of us find attractive in others. Some are really obvious, but some are just flatly without explanation. Example: Myself and a whole slew of other guys think freckles are wonderful things.
I met a woman in her 40s who had been covering, or trying to cover her freckles since she could remember. This conversation started over something I can't recall, but of all the guys sitting in this truck stop that morning... not one had anything but positive things to say about freckles. Many times I wondered if that had any impact on her need to hide them.
You aren't a freak. There has been some freaky stuff posted on this site over the years, and none of that even scratched the paint on the door to freak territory. :-)
The older men thing is something I would caution you about, however. Many young women who grew up without male role models, or at least positive ones spend the rest of their life looking for something that they feel like they really missed out on.
The problem is that you are talking about entering into a romantic relationship with someone to fill a non-romantic need. This is something that doesn't usually work out very well.
I can't emphasize this enough: Think twice, then think again before getting into a relationship with someone else who is in a vastly different place in their life. Even if their intentions are the best in the world... the chance of success is pretty low.

So, I bought this external drive and it will not let me copy files on to this external drive. I have a personal Mac OS X MacBook Pro. I'm hoping that there is a way to fix the problem. At first I plugged it into my Windows computer and grabbed some files. NEED HELP. (link)
|
Hi there,
Did you prep this for use with your Mac when you plugged it in?
Here is Seagate's troubleshooter for Apple Mac problems with external drives:
http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=213059&NewLang=en
Of course if you didn't initialize this for use with a Mac in the first place you can skip right over that and go here:
"How do I initialize the Seagate External drive for Mac OS X?"
http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=194371
... You see Mac OS X can't really deal with the way that the drives come pre-formatted for the PC.
Don't despair... you aren't alone in this, and it isn't a hard fix at all.
Happy formatting!

Before I begin, yes, I know about the "make suggestion" page: http://www.advicenators.com/question.php?u=4
But I just want to know your opinions on this first. Also, I am pretty sure that someone has already suggested this, but I couldn't find it. Think you can provide me a link to that?
Anyhow, here's the basic idea:
You know what I am talking about when I refer to the rating system for the questions, correct? You know, the one with these three faces: :-( :-| :-) . . . (let's call it "thraces" just for the fun of it [thr = three; aces = faces; thraces = three faces])
What if we apply the same system to answers, too?
Current only the asker have the ability to rate answers, and it is the five-star system. What if we turn it into the "thraces system," and allows the asker AND all moderators to vote? It would be a nice little improvement, in my opinion.
If you think that it would put too much additional stress on the server, maybe we could limit the voting time to one or two weeks, meaning the result will be finalized and closed after one or two weeks and no one can vote for that question and answer anymore.
What do you think? (link)
|
Hi there,
Thanks for your patience, I am very behind as usual. It was for the best that you started here right now, seeing as I am only a week or so behind here but months behind on e-mail. :-(
Anywho, the idea is good, and I love the "thraces" names, but I am not sure people of Thracian heritage would approve. ;-)
I have toyed with the idea of open ratings and even tried implementing this in the past with mixed results. Here are my experiences:
I don't know if you have ever been to yahoo answers or not, but we have had a few people move here from there solely because of the open answer rating system that they use.
Reason: Any moron with enough friends(or accounts) becomes "best answer."
My experience was more like this: An answer that was EXCELLENT would be rated down to the bottom for being too long, or unpopular.
Two examples:
I answered a technical question that required an in-depth response, and it was voted to the bottom by users who didn't understand the question, let alone the answer. The answer chosen as "best answer" to a question about automotive computer troubleshooting? Here it is in total:
"wut does that even MEANNNNNNN!!!!!"
... basically everyone who couldn't grasp the concept agreed with that sentiment.
My second example before killing the idea:
A young woman asked the benefits of pads vs. tampons. Why this question evokes such angry responses from the tampon crowd is beyond me, but it never fails.
One user wrote a very comprehensive response which basically concluded that the best way to reduce the risk of cervical cancer would be to stick with pads. This is something you will have a hard time finding ANY doctor to argue with, just as a note.
The tampon crowd voted the following to the top and the other to the bottom:
"First of all, its only bad if you leave it in for more than two days. Second, they sell cigerattes, and that kills people too soo.... you can wear tampons whenever. pads are like diapars. you sit in your own blood all day. groooossss. plus it stinks and they leak. People can choose for themselfes if they want to wear tampons or pads so stop being negative and talking crap."
I routed a great deal of traffic to these things and that was voted BY FAR the best answer.
Here is the problem: You wear a tampon for two days, and you are probably going to die.
Do you see where I am going with this?
What is we get a suicide related question, and the hateful masses vote something like: "It would be better for the world if you died!" to the top spot?
Imagine being one inch from taking your own life and seeing that 50 people, just for a number, think the best possible answer to your issue is for you to die?
Yikes.
... I do welcome your input on overcoming these things and moving forward with the idea in the future... if a sane way can be found to do so.
As for moderators doing the rating... frankly we have a core team of very good moderators, about 5 at any one time, and very few others ever bother to rate questions.
Given that there are several times the number of answers as questions, I question the ability of the current staff to keep up with this.
The cutting off at 10 responses would easily allow people to have their buddies elevate their own answers... yet if the limit were say 25, that would already mean 30 million entries at the current number of answers.
That would rapidly grow out of control, and I am afraid I really can't put any more money into the site than I have on a monthly basis.
As far as the idea of locking a question after x answers, I have always been resistant to this simply because the original asker isn't the only one to benefit from the answers given.
There are questions on this site that literally thousands of people have come to the site for over the years... some of which didn't even get a good answer until a year after they had been asked. This amazes me still, but people will search for something... end up here, knowing the answers given are wrong from experience, and create an account just to answer the one question with their experiences. (Worst grammar ever, sorry about that. A couple more years and I will start telling people PHP is my primary language.)
Anywho, the idea has merit. I tried to find a way to make it work and really wasn't able to find anything that worked across all the issues that cropped up. Whatever ideas you have are welcome, and I hope you have the answer I overlooked.
Thank you,
DN.
P.S. This is on the to-do list. I would point you there but I had to secure it after I caught another site, that shall remain nameless, implementing ideas directly from the list. ;-)
P.P.S. Skype is the BEST way to reach me. Feel free to add me and we can discuss this there. Same username.

I have this recording device that can recording anything that plays on your computer and puts it in itunes. I recorded a few things off the internet and it plays fine on itunes but it doesn't play on my ipod. I have a mac btw, idk if that matters though. what do you think the problem is? (link)
|
Hmmm... it would help a great deal if we knew the name and version of said recording device.
As far as it not playing on the iPod, the only thing I could think of was that the recording device is saving the files as a filetype that the iPod can't play.
Check to see if there is a setting for filetype in the recording software. If there is, then try changing it to something you know your iPod can play natively:
http://ipod.about.com/od/fileformatguide/a/file_formats.htm
... beyond that, there isn't much I can suggest without being able to read up on the software.
Hope it works, but if not, please let me know the name of the software.

I was just wondering if I can get a 'bank cheque' from the Heritage Building Society bank, on the day. As in tomorrow.
I need one asap.
I need one immediately because I'm purchasing a vehicle and I only just remembered. I cant withdraw more than a thousand a day, so cash is a little difficult. Bank cheques seem to be most appealing to the seller.
Please help asap.
Brisbane, Australia. (link)

Typically, a bank check or cashier's check as they are often called here can be had for any amount you have available in your account.
I have personally handled cashiers checks for many years, and never had any issue as long as my funds were in order. To the best of my ability to discover from here, the 'bank cheque' you mention is functionally identical to cashier checks over here in the states.
I have only once had to wait more than 15 minutes for said check and that was due to an inexperienced cashier.
Hope all goes well with your transaction.

Okay well my boyfriend needs me to send him a money gram. I have a few questions. First one. Doesn't western union do money grams and don't you pick them up the same way as any other money gram? Second one. I heard you can do them at walmart, if so how would I go about doing that? And if I chose to do it at walmart would I just put down the city where he is and he pick it up at ANY walmart in that city jurisdiction or would I need a specific walmart. And last but not least, if he were to receive one at walmart where would he go to pick it up and what would the procedure be? (link)
|
Hi there,
From my experience, I would only use western union. I don't know of another provider in the US, but if there is one, I can't think of a reason to use them.
Typically, the person sending the money goes to a western union location, and provide them with the money and the info of the person your are sending money to. They will give you a number that you need to give to the person who wants to pick up the money. Then the person who is picking up the money, goes to a western union location in their town, and use that number and their ID to pick up the money.
It is typically very straight forward and easy.
As a note: Wal-Mart is fine, but there are many, many places that offer the moneygram service, just for your info. If you use walmart, just go to the customer service desk and let them know what you want to do. They will walk you through the form, and you will be one your way.
One note: KEEP YOUR COPY OF THE PAPERWORK! Sorry to shout, but that paperwork in the ONLY tie to your money once you hand it over. Should you need a record of the transaction, that is your only record, typically.
I usually use my local pharmacy to send these when needed, just because the customer service is SO much better than walmart.
Here is a link to the website, if you would like some more info:
http://www.westernunion.com/
Enjoy.

Which parts of Bruno were staged and which were real, hidden-camera type stuff?
if you could provide a link, that'd be nice. (link)

Hi there,
The scene with Ron Paul was most certainly not done with willing participation. Otherwise, most of the scenes seem to be the product of social engineering. Example:
The bar scene. Apparently they advertised a cage wrestling match to load the place with angry straight guys... then they were practically giving the beer away... then, once people were absolutely blitzed they handed out free t-shirts that had anti-homosexual slogans. If this wasn't enough the promoters then tell a drunken mob that they won't be seeing the promised match... THEN they film the portion for the film.
The end result isn't so much about the individual sober feelings of the people in the bar, as it is about the social engineering applied to make it look just how they wanted.
Really fascinating if you think about it.
There is a pretty complete breakdown here:
