Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

i babysat my downstairs neighbor after school one day only for about an hour and i got $10 well two days ago i babysat from 10am-6pm ;; reminding you im a teen and the parents know i sleep in so it was hard to wake up.. when i babysat i only got $25 and i babysat her for an extra hour & i brought her to the store to buy a pumpkin to carve.. well today i babysat her from 10am-3pm and i still only got $25 again i walked to the store with her and bought $10 worth of crafts (after returning $20 worth of othershit that my mom made us bring back) i dont think i am getting paid enough should i tell the parents? or should i just not say anything and get paid shit.. the parents also know that i babysat my other neighbor and got paid $50 for 6pm to 12am

What you need to do is tell them that your hourly rate is $6-10 dollars an hour (you choose, depending on how difficult the child is and how many there are) and that that is what you will be charging that rate for all your customers. Also tell them that in the future if you will be buying something for the child, with their permission, you expect to be repaid. Give them one more chance and remind them before and after how much it will cost. If they refuse to pay you a decent rate (it sounds to me like they're taking advantage of you) then stop sitting for them.

I DESPERATELY need a way to clean out my closet and my room, and keep it that way. Right now its SUCH a war zone. Clothes fill it, just laying in a heap on the floor. They all need to be cleaned and I need an organized way to do this.

1. Make your bed. It makes the whole room look better.
2. Pick up books, DVDs, cds, magazines, etc. Put them away somewhere.
3. Pick up all clothes and hang them in your closet- they don't need to be in order yet. It helps to listen to music while you're doing this.
4. Now you're going to organize. There are a few ways to organize your closet.
COLOR
Pretty obvious. For example:
RED- light pink, pink, dark pink, red, dark red, maroon
etc. With white, grey and black being last. I don't like this system as much.
STYLE
Starting with skimpier clothes, for instance:
Shirts- tube tops, halters, camisoles, tank tops, t-shirts, 3/4 length shirts, long-sleeved shirts.
Jackets- shrugs, cropped sweaters, cropped jackets, blouses, hoodies, sweatshirts, winter coats.
Skirts- miniskirts, medium skirts, long skirts.
Pants- These I usually do by color or how fancy they are.
Dresses and formal outfits go in the back.

I usually make a playlist on my ipod and listen to music while i'm doing this...but no TV or anything else, or it'll never get done! You need to pick a day to do it and stick to it.

If you have tan skin, dark hair, or dark eyes, the first one. The red one looks kind of "Hot Topic-y" but if that's what you like go for it. I don't recommend the blue one unless you're SUPER skinny because it makes that tiny little model's hips and thighs look big, so it would look pretty bad on a normal-sized person.

I'm doing a project on rules in schools, the good and the bad. However, I need rules that AREN'T just at my schoo or in my state.

I was wondering, what kind of dress codes do you guys have at your schools? Length of shorts, tank tops, ripped jeans?

Also, what are the rules on PDA? We get suspension if we're caught hugging.

Just any rules you may feel strongly about or just ones you guys totally love!

At my school, dress code is selective- it looks pretty strict, but they rarely catch anyone. The rules are:
- No gang apparel (no bandanas)
- Tank tops must have 2 inch straps (girls)
- No tank tops for guys
- No underwear/bras showing
- No official rule for skirts...the yarduty is the judge of it, I think the general saying is knuckles while your hands are at your sides.
Again, not really enforced.

PDA...no rules enforced unless the school inspectors for the Distinguished school board are coming. Then you can't even take a nap if someone's near you. But that's the only exception.

ok so last year i went out with this guy joe. it was a 2 day relationship so i dont like to call him my ex. we "broke up" because he said he was embarassed to go out with me (which is a load of crap if you ask me). then he told me that he broke up with me cuz he liked my best friend too. well we broke up in may and joe and my best friend went out for about a month.

ive had a lot of time to get over him and i pretty much am. but last night i had a dream about him. we were at prom and i was with my best friend and my other friend katie. well joe taps me on the shoulder and asks me to dance. i of course said yes. then we slow danced and i had my arms around him and he had his arms around me.

does that mean i still have feelings for him?? i want to be over him completely but apparantly i still miss him. please help me!!

Every relationship looks better when it's over with. Even if you hate your ex (I'm guessing you don't) you're still likely to miss him. Having a boyfriend is for a lot of people a memory they want back. As for your dream...prom for many people represents happiness, the epitome of high school, in essence the realization of a dream. It's not important that it was him in the dream, it could have been anyone. The point of the dream is that (and sorry if I'm wrong) you're trying to be cool with being single and hanging out with your friends, but you really want to have a boyfriend- who doesn't? He is not the one, he just looks better now that he's gone. Try to enjoy being single- for one thing, dances are way more fun- and the right guy will come along.

so homecoming is coming up and i need a dress.
i have NO idea what kind of dress that i want, so as of right now anything is good. everyone is getting different dresses, so i'm pretty much safe with anything.

so my question to you is, do you know of any good places to get dresses? i'm okay with websites, cause i have a few weeks to order them. if you've boughten a good dress from somewhere, could you let me know? i dont want it to be too expensive. and i'm looking for something short, cute and colorful.. any ideas on where to look?

Macy's has really cute dresses with devent prices. I also love windsorstore.com, and they have gorgeous heels, jewelry, and wraps to go with the dress. Also they sell stick on backless strapless bras, because NO ONE should not wear a bra to a danc, :). I recommend them for all kinds of dresses- halter, spaghetti strap, tube top...

I like to wear skinny jeans. I LOVE them. The way I dress is labeled "scene/punk"...whatever.
My friends (3 of them) want to start wearing skinny jeans because they say I look good in them so they want to try them. I'm a size 5.

Skinny jeans only work on people with small thighs. I love skinny jeans but they look horrible on people with big thighs. Sizes 5 and 9 if they have good legs should look fine, size 11 might want to try a baggier style in a dark color. Kitten heels and stiletto boots look good with skinny jeans.

Should it be a red flag if your bf was calm one minute and then the next he was flying of the handle? My bf for no reason a couple of nights ago just yelled "you're not listening to me"! Another time he stuck his face in mine and yelled "I'm SO sorry". This is because I told him I wanted to leave a party that his friends were being jerks at. It kind of scares me how he can switch from charming to beast like that. He lately has been critzizing everything I do and making me feel like crap. In the beginning he was so polite and charming and sensitive that's what made me fall in love with him. But now I'm mostly seeing a monster. I've heard stories about how he treated some of his ex gf's. One said he was constantly calling her stupid and yelling at her too. What should I do?

Not a lot of people know about it, but this is a common pattern called a "dry drunk". It means that the person has an "alcoholic personality", that is, they are as volatile and unpredictable as an alcoholic. It has nothing to do with drinking, it's a personality problem and it's just as hard, if not harder, to deal with as alcoholism. These people are often charming at first (my dad is one) but then become anger and controlling. The next step in the pattern is physical abuse. You need to break up with him ASAP! Think of an excuse if you have to, but don't stay with this guy...he will hurt you emotionally and physically.

i have a digital camera camera. it is a white, casio exilim camera. i got it as a present from the past christmas, so there is still a warranty on it. Heres the thing, while traveling it accidentily was dented very slighty at the top about 4 months ago, but it still worked perfectly. NOW for some reason it just won't turn on!! i have no idea what happened to it! but if i try to send it back to get a new one from the warranty, do u think they will tell me that i mishandled it, and the dent is why it won't work, and refuse to send me a new one?? even though its just a bit dented, i am certain that it has nothing to do with the way it is acting now because its been working fine for the 4 months after the accident. Do u think they will believe me when i say it just simply won't turn on?

Sorry if you already tried this, but chances are that the batteries are dead. Throw them out and put new batteries in. As weird as it sounds, most people don't realize digital cameras run on batteries- most use AA.

First of all, ask him why he "hates" you. Don't phrase it that way obviously, but tell/im/email him: "You seem like you're mad at me. Why?" I have a feeling your "friend" might have told him something about you. The solution isn't to worry, it's to find out what's wrong. There is nothing you can do except approach him. I think you'll find once you start talking to him it's not so bad...If you're not comfortable face-to-face email or IM him. But the fact is, if he already likes your friend there's nothing you can do about it.
