ASKBRANDY_ADVICE answered Thursday November 23 2006, 8:36 pm: Hey girl my name is brandy and i think that you sound like a great babysitter because you seem like you really get involved but i think you need to let them your rate and things like that.
MissBonne answered Tuesday October 10 2006, 12:11 am: You need to let them know what your rate is per hour, they may not know. Also, you are using that money for crafts to keep the kids busy (awesome idea!), they need to pay you more because you engage their kids in fun activities. Maybe the parents of the child dont have that much money.
But seriously, you seem like an AWESOME babysitter... And yes... I do agree with you... You SHOULD get paid more... But The family may not have enough money to pay you more.
xokristabelle answered Monday October 9 2006, 9:17 pm: What you need to do is tell them that your hourly rate is $6-10 dollars an hour (you choose, depending on how difficult the child is and how many there are) and that that is what you will be charging that rate for all your customers. Also tell them that in the future if you will be buying something for the child, with their permission, you expect to be repaid. Give them one more chance and remind them before and after how much it will cost. If they refuse to pay you a decent rate (it sounds to me like they're taking advantage of you) then stop sitting for them. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]
