free or reduced child care

im a teen that is going to have a baby in march. when i was in school, i heard that i can get a grant for childcare. but i dropped out, and now im worried that ill have to pay $200 a week for babysitting when i need to work after shes 3-5 months old.
is there anyway i can still get a grant for being a single, teen mom even though i dont go to school ? (i would prolly start beauty school next winter)

Holiday

I have a little babysitting business with 60+ kids but durin the holiday season it certainly slows down so i was thinking of doing a holiday speacial of some sort. Except I don't know what to do. Should I do 1 hour free or 2 hours free? Also, should I have rules that go along with it? If its 2 hours free, I need to be there for 5 hours or if its 1 hour free I need to be there for at least 3.. or what?

17/f. i'm seventeen, and i've never really babysitted before, maybe like once when i was 15. i mean i have little brothers, but i never had to do anything, yano. & now i have to go babysit a little two year old tomorrow, and i have no idea what to do. what do you do with a two year old?

I'm a nanny for two children, ages 3 and 5. I've worked with children ages infant - 10 years old, and I've never seen ANYTHING like these two. They are completely disobedient, they hit me, they call me names, they lie, and they have an EXTREME dependency on their parents. As a nanny, my responsibilty is to wake them in the morning, get them dressed, feed them, brush teeth and hair, and take them to daycare. The father leaves for work before they wake but the mother is still home. The children don't let me anywhere near them without them screaming and throwing a fit and wanting mommy. Make up,clothes, what should i wear?

I wear make-up sometimes and just a little, my mom will only allow that much and says that i shouldn't wear it while baby-sitting. I have lots of stuff in my closet that my mom says is "inappropriate" for baby-sitting too. What should i wear to be a good example? The parents probaly wouldn't want there kids to see there baby-sitter as an example if that is an example that has their naval showing and tons of make-up on.

Advertising for Babysitting Business

I just posted flyers all around town a few days ago, and I still have not received any calls or e-mails. Here's the flyer: http://www.flowersitters.com/promotional/%23Flyer.png
I added phone tabs to the bottom of all of them, too.
Yet I walked around to the stores and locations I put them in, and no one took any of the phone tabss. :/ It's been around 4 days so far, too.
I put one up at a grocery store, the Boys & Girls Club, a bread store, a candy store, a church, the golf course I work at that has lots of kids programs, etc. I asked for permission at all of the places, of course.
What's going on?

My nephew hits me

Hi, My problem is that when I babysit my nephew he gets a bit violent. Today for example I had to get him ready to go to his baseball game. He didn't want to go, obviously. I have a slight handicap and he uses it to his advantege. He'll stike out and hit me on my foot. It's very painful. I've tried to explain to him why he can't do that. But he just rolls his eyes and walks away. My sister has tried to help but he keeps doing it. I can't stop babysitting him because my sister has college and no one else to watch him. So what should I do. I mean he is 8 years old, he should know better.

Owning my own day care.

Ever since I was in 6th grade I have wanted to own my own day care. Not the kind that you have at your house, but a seperate building and a real business. I have taken Teaching Young Children at school, I even have a job at the kind of day care I want to own someday. So what I want to know is, How long would it take to get all the certificates to do this? Do I need to go to special schooling? what would I need? Any info will help.

hi, i recently moved to australia from south africa, and i'm 17, still attending school full time, but i wanted to get a job.. So i thought babysitting was a great idea because i want to study child psychology later on.. But i dont know how to start this, babysitting.. Any help? Should i hand out flyers to people in my neighbourhood letting them know i can babysit? I have never done this before formally, just did it for family friends once in a while back in south africa.

How much should i charge?

I'm looking to make some extra money and I have noticed that there are lots of toddlers in my neighborhood. I am going to take a babysitting class where I learn the heimlich maneuver, etc.
Other information:
I am in 10th grade. (Straight A student!..but that probably doesnt help)
16 years old and a girl.
We live in a middle class neighborhood
How much should I charge? I was thinking 8 dollars per hour, + 2 dollars per hour with any amount of friends over. Is that too much?

i work at a day care with 3,4, and 5 year olds and i have a 3 year old who likes to spit and everything we have tried backfires also she acts out a lot throws a ton of tantrums and agrees to everything even if u say she will go to time out or go up front or something like that cause her mom works there so she thinks she will get to see her but the spitting just needs to stop but we dont know how. any ideas

i work at a daycare and i work with 3,4, and 5 year olds, and we have a girl who loves to hit the other kids a lot, it seems like nothing we do works to get here to stop even when the other kids hit her back she just tells them it did not hurt, i mean she is 3 years old i just dont know wat to do any ideas,

I'm trying to find a babysitting job but I don't really have any expirience with young children. I got a response to babysit a 2 year old boy from 9-5 3 days a week and I don't even know how to take care of a 2 year old! Do they need changed? Do they eat normal food? Do they talk? Please give me tips so I don't sound stupid asking the mother questions like that.

Hey i babysit 1 infant baby and she crys ALL THE TIME !! its a pain.. ive tried everything.. i feds her her bottle gave her a nap, Changed her diaper.. changed her clothes took her out for some fresh air let her crawl around. WUT MORE COULD I DO!!?? Please helppp!
