Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

There's this strapless dress I want to wear.
How do people have the confidence to wear them? there's only one zipper in the back that could go down and your dress would slip or if someone tugged the bottom it would go down! And worse is that I have small boobs so it'd prob won't hold up. Help!

xoerinnn is right. Fashion Tape is a real thing that's sold at Bed Bath and Beyond and a few other places. It's a kind of double-sided tape that doesn't hurt your skin or dress, it works really well and is relatively cheap. There's no reason to give xoerinnn a 2, it's a perfectly reasonable answer.

What are some good authors for teens. I like Standiford, Rennison, Katie Maxwel, and Meg Cabot.

I love Stephenie Meyers- her book Twilight (and its sequel New Moon) is my favorite right now.

Also, Lauren Myracle's books TTYL and TTFN are really good.

I am a freshman in highschool and i received papers from my school and the superintendant Stating that i could have the option of graduating a year early. which would mean i would be in the class of '09 instead of 2010. I already have my career planned out and what i want to do with my life and so i should accept it and graduate early right?? Well im not so sure that i want to. i mean, i dont want to leave my friends, and i know you guys will probably say " Put your life infront of your friends ". But im not to sure on what i want to do. Any suggestions?

If your firneds mean a lot to you, I wouldn't do it. You'll miss your senior prom and graduating with all your friends- also, once you graduate, you probably won't see your friends again. It also depends on whether you're mature enough to handle a job, etc.- I'd talk to your parents about it.

1 year won't make a huge difference in terms of a career. I know a girl who graduated early and she really regrets it. Don't do it unless you're 100% sure.

Okay, don't do a scavenger hunt (or if you do, be careful) because most guys will wait to open the envelope, etc. and then it's too late. That happened to several of my friends last year.

This is to all EYE DOCTORS. Can seeing glasses (not reading glasses) whether or not the seeing glasses are old or new magnify what you are looking at(a person). Here is why I am asking: Ok my coworker Marie (who is skinny) went over to a Yvette (a customer) to find out what type of help Yvette needed. Yvette wears glasses. Marie was standing and Yvette was sitting. Yvette looked at Marie and said to Marie; Did you gain weight; Marie was upset and said to Yvette: everyone always tells me I am skinny; That is when Yvette realized her glasses may be the problem and said; Marie I think it is my glasses, they are old and magnified; So Marie asked Yvette to take off her glasses and Yvette took off her glasses and replied: You are skinny; For about ten minutes Marie pestered Yvette. Yevette said; It was my glasses you are skinny, small; Then left. Marie told one coworker the story; and this coworker said; you are too skinny, you need to gain weight. (And yesterday another customer asked Marie how she stays so slim and never gains weight; and other customer said to Marie that Marie keeps getting skinnier and skinnier) My question can Marie accept the fact it was the glasses that made Yvette say what she said and Yvette thinks Marie is skinny and did not gain weight.

Yes, glasses can majorly distort vision, especially if they are old, which probably means they're the wrong prescription.. MOVE ON.

Are airsoft guns dangerous?
Do they heart as much as paintball guns heart?
Can you use plastic balls instead of iron?

I've been shot with an airsoft gun a few times. Depends on what's being used, the plastic ones hurt for a bit and leave a mark, and the metal balls hurt really bad and leave welts.

Airsoft guns are illegal in a lot of towns know, I'd look it up before you bought one.

I've seen several girls with darker skin do it and it looked awful. It can turn orange, which I've seen before, and you could potentially have an allergic reaction to it.

if i am applying for early decision to a college, then do i need to have already taken all my SAT II's by then? (Nov?) I need more time! :( Why can't we just take it senior year as well? They shove EVERYTHING into junior year.

Do classes really count senior year? I heard that only semester grades matter. And do AP classes count senior year? If we take the exam, do we send the scores to the college and get credit for it?

I can't answer your whole question, but yes, senior year classes count- colleges have and will drop people if they get bad grades second semester of senior year.

ok my glasses just broke and im tired of it. i want to get contacts but i want to know the pros and cons of them first before i spend my money on them. would it be better to just get my glasses fixed and what is the best place to get contacts. also i am 14 f and i have to pay for them myself so i need cheap one's ( but good quality). my friend said go to walmart and get them. is that ok? i just need help intirely! please help me...

Even if you get contacts, you should still have a pair of backup glasses.

i finally invested in money to buy a cute pair of sand UGG boots. but now that im thinking about it, i want to know if there are other cute boots out there for a more affordable price. i'm looking for sand colored boots, furry on the inside, and a little bit below knee length (have to be flat!) also, can i have your opinion on UGG boots, are they still even "in" anymore? plus, when summer comes around, i want to wear them with jean skirts. what do you think, and do you suggest any stores that carry the types on boots im looking for? thanks! :]

Where I live, UGG boots are out. People will wear them, but they're not anything special. Try looking at a couple of stores before you make your decision- there are lots of cute shoes out there that everyone doesn't have.

Wear something nice- maybe a nice shirt or blouse, black or khaki pants, and a low pair of heels. Put your hair in a messy bun or curled and wear a pair of nice earrings. I'm sure they'd prefer a prude over a slut, lol.

Compliment the mom on her outfit, jewelry, or something in her home.

Ask the dad sincere questions- what his job is, what his opinions are on a current event. Dads can tell when you're being fake, so no phony compliments or fake laughs.

Smile, act polite. Shake hands with the dad, follow what the mom does for greeting. Be prepared to answer strange questions. Don't do anything more than holding hands with your guy (even that's pushing it).

Just be on your best behavior, act like a "good, nice girl" and they'll like you.

i personally dont see what is so bad about drugs! maruana(sp) and weed and everything. i would never try it because my parents would freak out, but why is it illegal? all it really does is make you high, which is exactly what alchahol does! if drugs are illegal, alchahol should be aalso!w/ what is the difference? someone please explain to me and why drugs are so bad?

Alcohol isn't illegal because when they tried to ban it in the 1920's, drinking rates went up.

Marijuana and weed are the same thing. They make people act dumb. Eventually people don't want to do anything except smoke, they stop caring about school and things like that. The effects of weed and alcohol are very different. Weed kills brain cells and can give you cancer, and it also makes people screw up in high school, which makes it nearly impossible to go to college.

I'm not neccessarily against it, it's just not a great idea if you want a future.

My friends hardly ever drink, I mean the only time they have is like on holidays and even then it's not much. We're 14/15 years old, and our "parties" usually consist of sitting around in someone's basement. Someone brought up the idea of drinking... I've always been against it, having an alcoholic parent at home, especially at such a young age. I do wish we had more fun though. I'm scared of it but I'm sick of being a goody 2 shoes all the time, but I don't want to take this to the extreme. Help?

The fact is that a lot of people do drink, but it doesn't make things more fun. It makes people do stupid things, and they regret it later but it's too late. You could have a whole group of people mad at you for something you did while you were drunk...and you won't even be able to remember what it is.

If you really want to drink, set limits on how much you'll drink. Having an alcoholic parent makes you much more likely to become an alcoholic so be careful.

Not drinking doesn't make you a goody two shoes.

Ok my mom is in her 80s and I am in my 50s. STORY: I buy jewelry that is 99 cents (rings, bracelets, necklaces and pins) that look expensive. Every one including my mom have told me all the jewelry I buy is beautiful and they cannot believe I only spent 99 cent. Tonight my mom and I were discussing the jewelry and I told her that I cannot believe how I can get jewelry this cheap that look beautiful and how it looks as if I brought them at Lord & Taylors, Nordstrums. She turned to me and said; But you cannot get that at Tiffanys; This bothered me and I told her she does not have to be negative. She said; Well they arent real stones, I mean they look like you can get them at Lord & Taylors, Nordstrums, Bloomingdales but Tiffany only sells emeralds, diamonds, etc.; I called my friends and told them the conversation and they told me that all my mom is saying is that the jewelry is beautiful but they are not real stones. MY QUESTION: DO YOU AGREE WITH MY FRIENDS. Thanks.

First of all: Afghanistan attacked us, not Iraq. Afghanistan attacked because...well, that's complicated. For now let's just say they're anti-american.

We went into Iraq because we *allegedly* believed there were weapons of mass destruction (which we never found) there. However, many people, including soldiers, believe we are there for oil.

Keep in mind we have no way of truly knowing what's going on since the government obviously can't tell us everything and the media is insanely biased. Try to form your own opinions without being judgemental.
