There's this strapless dress I want to wear.
How do people have the confidence to wear them? there's only one zipper in the back that could go down and your dress would slip or if someone tugged the bottom it would go down! And worse is that I have small boobs so it'd prob won't hold up. Help!
uisforukelele answered Tuesday February 27 2007, 9:34 pm: you could wear a padded strapless bra with it to keep it up. if that sounds very unlike you (padded bras or whatever), let me assure you that it doesn't actually make you look any different, but it keeps your dress up. also, how many people go tugging the bottom of your dresses? just make sure that the dress fits at the top. if it does, it will stay. you might have to adjust yourself periodically, but that's normal too. it's okay if the dress moves say, if you jump up and down or something (like at a dance) because then you can just pull it back up, or hold it. but it shouldn't be falling around your ankles. if it's too loose, you can safety pin it, or get it altered. here's how i get the confidence to wear strapless dresses (i have small boobs too): i know that everybody else is afraid to wear them because they think the dress will fall down. so when people see me wearing a strapless dress, they're like, "holy crap, she is confident and looks good in that dress!" yeah. if you're afraid of the zipper going down in the back, get a seamstress to add some buttons or something on the back. there are always ways around that. well, happy dress wearing! xokristabelle answered Tuesday February 27 2007, 8:17 pm: xoerinnn is right. Fashion Tape is a real thing that's sold at Bed Bath and Beyond and a few other places. It's a kind of double-sided tape that doesn't hurt your skin or dress, it works really well and is relatively cheap. There's no reason to give xoerinnn a 2, it's a perfectly reasonable answer.
Rosalina answered Tuesday February 27 2007, 7:09 pm: If its such a big deal to you about the zipper, add button loops down the back on the inside. sew a little loop of fabric in(use matching thread) and a tiny button. a row of these will keep it closed- even if the zipper gets pulled. As for the boobs problem, not if you get the right size.
look for one thats moderately tight there.
hope I helped!
