Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?
Makeup, skincare, and psychology are my passions and I'm also happy to give advice on relationships, particularly for teenagers (so many things I wish I could have told myself a decade ago!) I'm happy to help fellow abuse survivors as well.

i have a couple songs that i like but i dont know the name. can someone please help me?
the first one goes like this:
"ohh... look what you've done... you've made a fool of everyone... " and i dont know the rest of the song, sorry!
the second song goes like this:

First one is "Look What You've Done" by Jet. It's about how his dad cheated on his mom. If you like that song you'll probably also like "Shine On" by Jey, it's from their newest album.

Second one is "Unwell" by Matchbox 20. If you like that song you might like Rob Thomas.

ok i just got the new sims 2 game. i have it all on my computer and installed and all that jazz. i got to Veronaville and it says that the neighborhood is loading but its taken forever like probably 30min-and hour and i have tried it 3 times to restart it. so what am i doing wrong? or what do i do next? or does it take reallly long?

I've had the Sims 2 on two computers and the same thing happened. It's probably that your computer is running background tasks- hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE twice to get rid of them (it's the second tab, i think).

Even if it doesn't freeze, it will take a really long time. It's a complex program that has a lot of stuff it needs to load. Believe me, it's worth the wait.

A month or so ago there was a school dance. My friend Tiff was supposed to go with our friend Potter but he found out he had to work a few weeks before the dance, so she found a new date. She told me that she didn't like him as more than a friend and wasn't going to go all out for him anyway, so it didn't matter. i didn't have a date. the day of the dance, my group went to walmart to hang out before the dance and Potter was working. We're all friends with him, so we went over to talk to him and found out he was off work at 9 (30 min after the dance started) so i asked him to come be my date and he said he would. I've had a low level crush on Potter for a few years now, and Tiff knows that. She got mad at me when he came and was my date, because after she told me she wasn't interested, she changed her mind and didn't tell me. I really like him, and she knows that, but she's been asking him out a lot and bragging about going on dates with him, even though she tells me that she's more interested in this other guy right now and I don't know if he's saying yes toher because he likes her or because he's too nice to say no (either is possible) and I don't want to make her mad at me even though I like him a lot. What should I do? 17/f

You need to be honest with both of them.

Ask Potter if he likes Tiff as more than a friend, chances are he doesn't. (If he does, well, say goodbye.) If he's okay with it, have him tell her that he only likes her as a friend- tell him to make it glaringly obvious. Let him know that you like it and that Tiff is only really using him to compete with you (it sounds like she is) and he should be happy to do it.

Your other choice is to tell Tiff to lay off, but I doubt that'll work and she'll probably get mad. Chances are she's still mad that he went with you to the dance instead of her.

When you go to a courthouse for a wedding, what is the actually procedure. Like, what questions do they ask you before issuing a marriage license, do they usually already have a justice of the peace there, do you just need to sign the license for it to be valid or does there actually need to be a ceremony, etc. If anyone who's actually had a courthouse wedding could just tell me about their experience, that would be greatly appreciated.

Well, once I put it in some water and it started popping. So it probably does the same thing in your stomach. and it absorbs moisture, so you could possibly get dehydrated.

I cut myself for the first time today. I'm afraid that cutting will become something that I do regularly. I need to figure out how to get over cutting, because i already feel like i'm a crazy person. pleaseee help!


oh and don't tell me to google. i did, and i read nearly all of the search results. reading some of them makes me want to cut even more.

i'd love to hear a response from a person who has gone through this.

You need to get yourself out of the situation where you can cut.

If you cut with razors, put all your razors in your parents' room or somewhere where you cannot access them. Whatever you cut with, put it somewhere where you can't get it or throw it away.

If you cut in your bedroom, keep your door wide open at all times.

Just make it so that you absolutely cannot.

If all else fails, tell a friend that you trust not to rat on you. Tell them that you're quitting. Just knowing that if you cut, you'll disappoint someone, might help.

Find something to do. Video games, computer games, reading, writing, even if it's tearing pieces of paper up occupy yourself.

Reasons not to cut:
- It looks awful. Especially since it's spring, nearing summer. And the scars can last a really long time.
- Risk of infection, and then you'll have to go to the doctor.
- It's next to impossible to hide the cuts. Whether it's a dressing room, locker room or just taking off your jacket cuz it's hot, there's no realistic way to hide it.
- Cutting is very self-serving.
- People make fun of cutters. Sad but true.

TTYL, TTFN, and l8er, g8er are in the Internet Girls series by Lauren Myracle. They look kind of weird but they're really good- written in IMs about the problems with guys, etc. that 3 high-school girls go through.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyers is my absolute favorite book, the first half it's just an ordinary teen book but it gets a lot better. The sequel, New Moon, is really good, too.

If you haven't read The Princess Diaries, you should try it. It's totally different and a LOT better than the movie, really funny and unique.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is one of those books I swore I'd never pick up. It sounds so weird- a book about pants? But it's actually about four totally different friends during one summer and all that they go through, it's hard to describe but really good. There are four in the series.

Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn and it's sequel, Shrimp, are both hilarious. If you like funny books, Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging is really great despite the title.

Cut by Patricia McCormick is slightly similar to Speak, different topic but same sort of thing, it's pretty good. Other books about troubled teens:

okay well one of my best friends is 12. she is one of the youngest people in the 7th grade. & she's like a complete whore. she's going out with a 16 year old & she likes to make out. she has made out like 7 times. one time it was a girl & one time it was with a girl & a guy. also, these people she's making out with are 4-5 years older than her. when she was 11, she made out with a 15 year old. she doesn't think there's anything wrong with the way she's acting. i'm really getting worried about her because i don't want her to end up pregnant by age 15. she has promised me she wont do this anymore but she always talks about how she LOVES making out. its disgusting. i've seen her make out. she does it all the time right in front of me.

so i have two questions. one, is this normal? & two, what can i do to help her?

Just sounds like a boy-crazy phase to me. If it's anyone older than 18, watch out. It's at little weird about the girl, but sometimes girls do that to turn guys on. There are a lot worse things than making out. Hopefully she'll get over it, if not, you might need to talk to her parents (only if she's doing things with people over 18). Mention to her that making out with lots of people makes her look easy and slutty.

hi im turning 17 soon......not at school how do i build my confidence up to become an actor and can you still be an actor if you are not in school do you have to be a good spelling preson or brainy any think like that.......how hard is it to be an actor.

It has nothing to do with being smart.

However, almost all actors, after a lot of time spent auditioning, etc. make their money from commercials and have another job on the side.

It is almost impossible to be a movie actor- there's millions of people competing for a few little jobs. I'd recommend doing plays (or community theatre for now) instead, and maybe looking into other careers.

Well, I usually don't fo to school functions, but this time, I am. I want to the Spring Fling dance, at my school. It is semi-formal, and I don't know what to where. I guess my question is... what do I wear?!

Semi-formal at my school means cocktail dresses- shorter dresses. At your school it could mean something else, like skirts and blouses, so I'd ask someone at your school before you decide.

Okay, so I just recently started using Crest Pro-Health [Alcohol Free brand]. But I've noticed that when I spit it out, there's this bluish thing that remains behind. It's like a string of that mouthwash stuff. I know that it sounds weird but I was just wondering if anyone else is resulting with the same thing. Thanks =]

My school has a male pageant (sounds weird, I know) called Mr NameOfMySchool (lol). The guys have school spirit, are well-liked, etc. They are interviewed and there is a fashion show and talent show (most guys dance) among other things, then people vote. It's really funny and something a lot of people look forward to.

If you have a Sweet Tomatoes in your town, they do a fundraising program that's fairly successful.

You could also have a talent show and charge for admission and snacks.
