hi, well you know how when you buy a pair of new shoes, you get a packet of "silica" in them, and it says "do not eat", what happens if you do eat it? just curious, thanks
xokristabelle answered Monday March 26 2007, 7:46 pm: Well, once I put it in some water and it started popping. So it probably does the same thing in your stomach. and it absorbs moisture, so you could possibly get dehydrated. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]

LM answered Monday March 26 2007, 3:50 pm: You'll sit there wondering, why the hell did I just eat that? It's all reverse psychology- they told us NOT to eat it, haha. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
NinjaNeer answered Monday March 26 2007, 2:38 pm: Silica is a desiccant, meaning that it removes moisture from its surroundings. If you ingest it, it will absorb moisture from your stomach, which could make you sick.
karenR answered Monday March 26 2007, 2:25 pm: Not much. It would taste bad. I've heard it takes a lot of water to get it washed down. I don't advise you to eat it though, it is just for absorbing moisture. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
