Spring Fling Dance

Question Posted Saturday March 24 2007, 2:08 pm

Well, I usually don't fo to school functions, but this time, I am. I want to the Spring Fling dance, at my school. It is semi-formal, and I don't know what to where. I guess my question is... what do I wear?!

well i have a semi-formal at my dance, but people consider it more formal i guess. i'm guessing you're a girl, so if i were you i'd wear a dress. every girl in my grade is at least. but you're school might be different, so ask around to see what everyone else is wearing, because you don't want to seem under/over dressed.

i'm gonna wear a spring-ish dress like above my knees and kinda flowy, nothing too fancy. guys will probably wear dress pants and a button up shirt.

but if people at your school are going to wear kind of casual stuff, i'd wear maybe a denim mini skirt with a nice shirt and nice jewlery and shoes, or jeans, and do something good with your hair.

Dear Reader,
If this is a semi-formal dance I would look at what your peers generally wear to school and take different ideas from their wardrobe and make it your own. To copy other peoples style is boring and doesn't make you noticed by any guys. So my idea is to jazz it up a little bit.

For example: Girls in my area where a skinney tanktop and then a light shirt over the tank top and then they let the top of their breasts peak out. It's not exactly slutty it's just diverting the guys attention. You may also have some blue jeans that are plain with no art but that can be settled with a jazzy belt.

There are many different combinations. If this sounds like some of the things teens in your area wear, experiment with the ideas above. I am speaking from the point of view of what things are like in my area it may be different for you. Just definatly ask your classmates.

Semi-formal at my school means cocktail dresses- shorter dresses. At your school it could mean something else, like skirts and blouses, so I'd ask someone at your school before you decide.

I love dances!

Semi formal is fun because you get to look pretty without going overboard.

I'd wear a denim skirt with a pretty tank top/blouse in a fun color (spring colors like pink, yellow, light/lime green, lavendar, etc) with matching jewelry and accesories. You can even be extra festive and put a flower in your hair ( i reccomend gerber daises)

If your still unsure, just ask your friends what their wearing.

Have fun!

-Abby
