Hi there! I was just wondering if you could help me figure out what to do about a lil problem I'm havins?!?! Ok...well see I've been dating this guy for 2 months but before we even knew each other he was really good friends with some of my best friends. Well ever since the first day that we started *officially* going out they all started telling him how I was just gonna use him for sex and then dump him and stuff=(but when I met him I was a VIRGIN! And now they keep telling him that he never spends time with them anymore and that he should break up with me and they say all this stuff behind my back but then act like everythings alright when they talk to me! I mean I really love my friends but I don't think it's right that they do/say all this stuff about me. I confronted them once and they all said sorry and that they knew I would never do anything like that to them and that they wouldn't let it happen again but now its just gettin worse! I agree with the previous 2, they're jealous. I wouldn't comfront them about it again, I would just ignore them. They sound immature to me, and most of the time immature people go on only until there's no more responses. How did you find out about them talking behind your back? Did your boyfriend tell you, if so then just ignore them. They'll eventually get a life of their own and stop bothering you. If they were really close friends, they wouldn't say such things. But of course, that's just my opinion.

ok well i like this guy i mean i have written love notes ABOUT him and everytime i read them i love him even more i mean he is really cute plus soooo sweet but i know he likes me as jsut a friend and he called me cute but when i get around him i get really shy and now he is but i'm only shy around him i'm not that shy but i am kinda (but it is only around him)! what do i do to not be as shy around him??? There's nothing wrong with being shy, it's endearing (At least that's what I keep telling myself. Also Andy says it too.). The only cure I can think of is to spend more time with him. After a while you'll get more relaxed and less shy.

Okay, here goes. My best friend and I have been friends for 14 years (We're both 19 now). We've always been there for eachother, always were together, etc. But about 3 months ago, I introduced her to one of my other friends, and then she completely changed her lifestyle and appearance (as in the way she dresses, acts, and stuff) to be just like that person and she's not the person I used to know anymore. Our friendship started getting weaker, so I changed my style to be like hers, and our friendship got to the way it used to be again. But about a month ago, I didn't like my "new lifestyle" so I changed back to my old on, and now our friendship got weaker. I've tried as much as I can to bring it back, I talk to her and try to fix our friendship, but it's not working, she gives me the "sorry attitude" and then blows me off. Now we're hanging on by a thread and it seems the more I talk to her, the farther we grow. I know this is because I introduced her to that person (her new best friend), and I'm starting to regret that deeply. They're inseparable now, and I'm feeling so awful because I just lost my best friend of 14 years to this. Now they spend every waking hour together and I mean nothing anymore. (link)

Almost everyone drifts apart. One of the painful lessons in life. Ties are broken after highschool/college, people change. I think your friend would have changed even if you didn't introduce her to the other girl. The best thing to do is to move on, get absorbed into school/work, and just be casual friends. My best friend whom i've known since 1st grade (I start my second year of college in the fall) started changing after highschool. he started becoming more like a prep, and we hardly ever speak anymore.

I wouldn't pursue him. He may not be happy, but he has a family. You don't want to tear his family apart just because of a crush. If he gets divorced or leaves his wife, then pursue him, but not until then.

Some guys just aren't comfortable with public displays of affection. I wouldn't worry about it too much. He may know that some of his friends are annoyed by public displays of affection, so he may just be doing it for his friends. If it really bothers you, just be touchy with him in front of those people, and he'll probably respond warmly.

Okay I will try to keep this short.
I have a friend lets call her lana, well I met lana at camp one time and we sorta became friends because we were not liked that well and so I mean I thought she was a great friend and all that and not about 2 years lata to me hse is like SO boring and just like a fly that I can't get ot go away. she constitaly calls me and she became friends with my "So Called Friends" and they are always making up lies to lana about me and well lana is sorta someone that will beleive that you can walk upside down if you tell her that. and so she beleive all these friends say about me and I don't know how to tell I don't want to be friedns with her anymore because I just can't stand her. I mean she isn;t that pretty and that doen't matter but she follows me around and acts like a lost dog. she says her mother likes me because I'm the only firned that hasn't been mean to her. I'm a nice person and I just canpt find the guts to tell her that she drives me batty! I have a really good friend and lana gets SO upset that i spend more time with her and I that I don't like her that well. I like her but I just don't like..;... HELP ME!!! I don't know what to do!

I would zone her out. Ignore her calls, keep conversations with her to a minimum, etc. She almost sounds obsessed with you.

i am SO sad. today my teacher yelled at me for doing nothing. Also today my friend abanded me. i was telling her somthing and she just left. Well, I would just ask him out, and soon. The worst that could happen is that he turns you down. Even if he does, at least you can stop wondering if he feels the same way, and start to get over him. When a friend has a girl/boyfriend they tend to completely devote themselves to them and spend less time with their friends. There's not a lot you can do about that. Teacher's can be a pain, I would ignore them if they yell at you for something you didn't do. Crap I rhymed. Oh, and if you chose to ask him out, ask him directly. He may say no thinking it's a joke otherwise.

My family adopted an adult cat, one year old, "Henry", to be friends with our lonely other one year old cat, "William". Both the cats are males. We've had Henry for three weeks, and he remains deathly afraid of everything. He braely eats, and hides under the bed. William visits him, and tries to play but Henry will not play, and runs away. We all have to keep incredibly quiet around the house, because loud noises scare the bejezus out of him. I want to make Henry feel more at home. What can I do? (link)

Does the cat not trust you or anyone else? Was he wild? Some more information would be helpful. Well, he's not too old. I would pay an enormous amount of attention to him. Of course, don't leave the new cat out. If that doesn't work, there maybe something wrong with him, I would take him to a vet. If you constantly pet him or play with him, he may feel loved and eventually warm up.

well thing is in past someone trick me likeing this guy. I was so oppessed with him 2 years. He wans't I thought he was. thing is nobody like him becouse he can be annoying and do have good heart. well last summer he say he my freind and he know i like him then he ask girl out in front of me. she say no to him.. well anyway we had like disagreement or fight over summer and I did something hurt him becouse he hurted me so bad that I cry all summer. when school came he came back from another school he went. he say hi to me and i telling him i was sorry but he didnt say. he actin nice it werid.. well thing is he drop out of school.. somethime i still think bout him and wonder I sould of done something different and he not think I had crush on him. i hope he would treat me like he treat other girls but think I wront bout him. but I sometimes look him in eyes and relize something dont kow what.. well now i dont see him. he drop out. he 11th his name cody. i want not think bout him any more I want him out of my head.. becouse it killing me inside little. You'll get over him, it just takes time. I wouldn't worry about what you should have done or anything like that, it sounds like it would end the same way regardless of what you did. He may always be in your head a little bit, but later on I'm sure he'll be replaced with another.
After feedback: I go through a similar situation. I have a crush on one of my best friends, but she doesn't feel the same way. I'm a guy if I forgot to tell you. I start to get over her, but when we talk, all of my feelings rush back. I've been through this before now too, it just takes time. I would casually wave when I see him if I were you, but I wouldn't have too long of conversations, just in case you feel those feelings again. I'm sure eventually those feelings will completely disappear, and all that's left are feelings of friendship.

MY FRIEND ALISA IS A 34 YEAR OLD SINGLE MOTHER OF 3 YOUNG GIRLS. ALISA HAS BEEN GOING DOWN HILL FOR SOME TIME NOW, HER HOUSE IS ALWAYS DIRTY AND SHE SPENDS MOST OF HER TIME LOCK INSIDE HER BATHROOM
SMOKING CRANK. 3 WEEKS AGO SHE GOT A VISIT FROM CPS AND THEY GAVE HER A DRUG TEST - SHE FAILED SO HER CHILDREN WERE SENT TO LIVE WITH ALISA'S DAD AND STEP MOM UNTILL SHE CAN GET ENROLLED INTO A YEAR LONG REHAB PROGRAM. THE PROBLEM IS SHE NOW HAS THE FREEDOM TO RUN THE STREETS WITH OUT DRAGGING HER KIDS ALONG - THATS ALWAYS EASYER TO DO. SHE HASN'T EVEN TRIED TO FIND A PROGRAM YET AND WHEN I ASK HER ANYTHING ABOUT HER PLANS SHE SAYS SHE DOSN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DRUGS AND DOSN'T FEEL SHE NEEDS REHAB. SHE SAYS SHE LOVES HER GIRLS AND THAT SHE WILL GO JUST BECAUSE SHE'LL NEVER GET THE KIDS BACK IF SHE DOSN'T.
EVERY WEEK FOR 3 WEEKS SHE HAS PROMISED THAT COME NEXT MONDAY SHE'LL TRUN HER SELF IN TO A CENTER - YET SHE IS STILL NOT THERE.
I'M SO VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HER , IF SHE DECIDES TO JUST LET THE KIDS GO AND STAYS IN THE SHAPE SHE IS IN RIGHT NOW THEN I WANT NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH HER !

It sounds to me like she hasn't grasped the reality of the situation. Make her realize she's rsking never seeing her girls again. If she still choses the addiction, then maybe the girls are better off living with their father. The only thing I can thing to do is to have a long talk with her about what's important.

Excellent question! That's a thinker. I've never tried it, but it's worth a shot. I don't think it will, but you never know. I'll ask around, I have some friends who grow bamboo, maybe they'll know.

I consider myself an artist, so I should know a few. Truth is I don't know too many sights, but two come to mind. I'm not sure where you're at art-wise, so I don't want to bore you with things you already know. I'll give you specific tips if you ask me on my column though, I know a few.
