Ok, I have been dancing for 8 years. I am known for dancing by friends, family, and neighbors. This year, I hate it! I dread it. I mean I whine to try and stay home. ONce I get there it isn't that bad, but I still hate it. Well, I costs my family ALOT of money so I can dance. They have to pay like 100 dollars a week practically. My mom thinks I should quit and she said I could, I mean I don't like dance so I am bascially wasting all our money. There are reasons why I wnat to stick with it, one of them being my friends there and I'm almost all the way down to my split, and you obviously know why I may quit. I am on the Field Hockey Team at school and love it. Please help me, should I quit? Would you quit? Thanks a million!

I'm also a dancer, and I have been dancing for almost six years. At times I get frustrated with it, and I want to quit, but the thing is, that's the only thing I'm good at. You, on the other hand, have been dancing for such a long time, and have a new hobby. Your parents want you to be happy, so they are willing to spend money on you. You sound really devoted to dance, so this sounds like a tough decision (It really does seem like a tough decision to me, because I have been on the verge of quitting at times). I also have many friends at dance, and every Saturday we go to the mall and shop. If your dance friends really are true friends, they will be willing to make the effort to see you after you stop dancing. I think that if you really don't like it, and are even the tinest bit sure you want to quit, then you should quit dance. Take your friends' numbers down, and you can have seasonal parties: for Christmas, Halloween, New Year's, Valentine's Day, and your birthday.

Or, you can limit your dancing to one day a week, or only take dance one hour at a time (I'm not sure what kind of dance you do, but I do Irish dance. If you also Irish dance, then you could either quit solos or quit ceili teams. If you don't Irish dance, sorry, you probably don't know what I just said.)

I have bitten my nails for as long as I can remember and now they are very short and small. I have tried absolutely every trick in the book to give up but I always give up and start biting again. I can't help it, I always set out with the willpower to give up but I'll get bored in a lesson and start to chew. My boyfriend and all my friends and family think it's disgusting and are always trying to get me to stop but I can't, what should I do?

Okay, this may sound silly, but when you are going to bed, wear oven mittens. This prevents you from biting your nails in your sleep or when you are in bed. Sounds weird, but it does work. Next, when you bite your nails, you are consuming into your body millions of bacteria that your nails collect under them. If you used a nail file to clean under your fingernail and held the file up to a microscope lens, you'd be disgusted at how many germs that you are letting into your body. Nail biting is a bad habit, and it is not very good for you.

I suggest you mix vinegar with water and add salt and the TINIEST pinch of baking soda (don't want an explosion!), then use a medicine dropper to drop that into your nail polish. Apply that nail polish, and it will be the nastiest thing you've ever tasted.

Also, reward yourself when you've accomplished something. You haven't bitten in a week? Treat yourself to a day at the movies. Things like that will eventually get you off the habit.

I have this black panch with a lot of holes in it (u know the stitching) and the neck on it is round like a tee-shrit and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what shirt to wear under it with jeans. I've worn one of those double v-necks and it was maroon and it looked ok. I guess a think strap tank top would look ok but it's too cold for that now. Any suggestions would be awesome! This is a hard question :)

I think you should wear it with a black or white turtleneck. That would definately look good. :]

I'm guessing you mean grinding. It's when the dude stands behind the girl and they dance dirty. The two people, you know, sort of grind their bodies together, like, rubbing. If you still don't get it then watch Mtv, you'll learn more than enough. :)

ok well my name is anna and i just moved to this new house and it really scares me. see everytime i change or take a shower i hear noices. sometimes they say things, and when i invite my friends over they hear things too! now they dont come over! what should i do?

Wow, this sounds like a tough position to be in. What you want to do is find a logical explanation about it. Maybe the low deep voices you hear while you shower could be your dad playing the flute. Water can alter the actual sounds of what really is making the sound. I used to hear an accordian playing while I showered (I know, that's really weird right?). My sister used to hear people talking when she showered, too. She said it was kind of funny. You can either thoroughly search the house for ghosts and ghouls along with a sibling, parent or friend, or you can explain to your mom that you sometimes hear people talking, and it freaks you out. As for your friends, if they ever bring it up, say with a laugh, "Oh, yeah, would you believe that it actually was my brother playing a prank on us?" Or you could say, "Yeah, that was my mom's radio. She always leaves it on without noticing." But always remember, your mom and dad would never have you live in an unsafe house, they love you and always want you to be safe and happy. :)

My room is always messy and when I clean it up it just gets messy again! Im try to keep organized but it just never seems to work! What are some tips or things I can put in my room that will help me?

I suggest getting a hamper. You can just put all your dirty laundry in your hamper and empty it in the laundry room every day, once a week, once a month, whatever. Some cloth hampers are even washable, and some come with stands you can stand your hamper up on. After cleaning your room, organize your dresser. Have one drawer contain socks and underwear, the next containing shirts, the next drawer full of your pants, and the next drawer with sweaters. That helps keep you organized. Another helpful thing could be some shelves. Put your books on them or your stuffed animals or trophies. Get a bedside table with a bottom shelf below the table part. Hi there! I've got my own column on here (EMiLYELiZABETH) but today I'm needing some advice.

I'm 2O/f and tomorrow I've got a huge job interview with the police department. My question is... what should I wear and how should I do my hair?? It's brown with reddish highlights, half way down my back (about to the bottom of my bra). I like it either up or down, so that isn't an issue.

As far as what to wear, I was wondering about pinstripe pants or a skirt? Also, what kind of shirt? I've got a few nice sweaters or some that I can layer with.

Any help would be GREATLY appricated!! Thanks so much!

Hello, Emily Elizabeth. I think you should definately go with the skirt, because it looks way more professional (pinstripe pants aren't interview-wardrobe-worthy :D). You can wear a V-neck sweater with a striped blouse underneath or a solid, matching colored blouse. Or, you could wear a skirt with a solid color blouse. Leave the blouse unbuttoned and wear a nice matching tee underneath (Or it could be sleeveless.). Layers look cool, too. Wear whatever feels best, but remember to look presentable and professionable. As for your hair, you can loosely curl it, leave it down and straight, or tie it in a low ponytail with a ribbon. You could also pull it back in a tight bun. Good luck! Hope all goes well!

My hair right now is a little past my shoulders and for me, it's long. I was thinking about growing it out longer to about the middle of my back and then cut it to a little past my chin and donate my hair to Locks of love. My question is, what is the minimum in inches of hair you can donate? Thanks for the help!

It must be at least 10 inches. I know, isn't that a long length? :) Yeah well for curly haired people they straighten it out then chop it off and I know you must put your hair in a ponytail too before cutting it. I think that you're doing a great thing by donating your hair! Keep it up! :)

We had a race today at school and im one of the fastest runners in my school, But..I'm skater,so i tied my gym shoes skater..So i came in last.guess why. THEY FLEW OFF 3 Tymes!!!!!!!! and i rolled my ankle on the ground so i hadda walk the rest of they way. And this kid i like,ran too, and laughed at me and told all his friends and i was like f*** you!!! I But i have no idea how to tell all his friends to belive me that i rolled it.Any ideas OTHER than " i rolled my ankle aso i had to walk " Or ( any white lies !?)

Wear your ankle wrapped the next day and be all, "hel-LO, stupid, I twisted over on my ankle the other day during the race, otherwise I would've whooped your ass, slowpoke." Then walk away. Ok so I am 13 years old and I want to start babysitting. I'm not sure if there are laws on how old you have to be (I live in England.) Is 13 old enough? How would I go about it?

Yes, 13 is old enough. I started babysitting when I was 12! Tell your mum that you feel responsible enough to start babysitting. Print out colorful memos and tape them up to streetlamps, bulletin boards, and you can put them underneath cars' window-wipers. On the memo, include your picture (optional), how old you are, and how much you request per hour (If your charges are flexible, mention that, or put something like, "My charges per hour are flexible, but please, nothing under 40 pence" or something like that).
