There is no point in organizing your room in such a complicated system that you don't know where anything is, the important thing is to make your system work for you. I used to have a messy room (I am a messy person) but now its clean because I did a major clean of the room and made a system that works for me. Now I can find where everything is and now my parents are off my back about it. Good luck, if you need help don't be afraid to AIM me! [ xbebopchrisx's advice column | Ask xbebopchrisx A Question ]

laffintaffy359 answered Sunday January 2 2005, 5:48 pm: Hey! I have the same problem,lol...but what helps me keep it clean is a dirty laundry basket, hangers (on the back of the door and in the closet) and a chair off to the side where I can put some of my junk temporarily if I'm in a rush, instead of throwing it on the floor. You can also put shelves and/or cabinets in your room and have a certain box for each thing like jewelry, sports stuff, CDs, etc. Hope this helps!

nikole__ answered Sunday December 12 2004, 7:26 pm: There are couple different options. You can get plastic bins to put things in or you can get shelves & baskets to go on the shelves. That's all I can think of right now, sorry. If none of us have helped, watch design shows on channels such as TLC and HGTV. The one on TLC called Clean Sweep would help the most, because they have many ideas for organization. Good luck! [ nikole__'s advice column | Ask nikole__ A Question ]

~*Annie*~ answered Thursday October 21 2004, 4:56 pm: I suggest getting a hamper. You can just put all your dirty laundry in your hamper and empty it in the laundry room every day, once a week, once a month, whatever. Some cloth hampers are even washable, and some come with stands you can stand your hamper up on. After cleaning your room, organize your dresser. Have one drawer contain socks and underwear, the next containing shirts, the next drawer full of your pants, and the next drawer with sweaters. That helps keep you organized. Another helpful thing could be some shelves. Put your books on them or your stuffed animals or trophies. Get a bedside table with a bottom shelf below the table part. Put a cool lamp on the table and put your bath / beauty supplies on the shelf. Go to this website: www.thecontainerstore.com for lots of shelves, drawer chests, foldable mesh boxes, and more! Good luck, hunny :D [ ~*Annie*~'s advice column | Ask ~*Annie*~ A Question ]
brittanysays answered Monday October 18 2004, 5:10 pm: First give your room the bestest(haha) cleaning its ever had in its life! It may take a long time but you sure will be thankful when it comes to organizing. After you are done go buy some clear boxs and maybe some cute little shelves, you can use cups to keep pencils and markers. After that, seperate all your things into categories (ex. shoes, books, pencils etc.) Then you can easily put the things into boxes and label. Good Luck ! ! ! sunshine1232 answered Saturday October 16 2004, 3:12 pm: you should try putting bins that you could store your things and put slefs up in your closet so you could put your things on it or get like a long pole that you can hang your clothes on and your belts by hangers try not to puposelly make your room messy because then you will have to clean it up. Michelley answered Saturday October 16 2004, 12:31 pm: Well for me having a laundry basket in my room helps because my problem is clothes EVERYWHERE! So it gives me somewhere to put my dirty ones untill I take them downstairs so they can be washed! And also remembering like if you put something on, don't just throw it on the floor if you don't want to wear it, because then it will be wrinkled! And who wants to wear clothes off the floor!! and if its just little stuff that you put everywhere..make a junk drawer or a basket in your closet or smthn hidden that you can put all the stuff that has no place to go! And also remember how you won't be able to find anything if everythings a mess!! I always loose the remotes to my TV n DVD and my cell phone in my room because I have a bunch of stuffed animals on my bed, so at night i throw them on the ground on top of stuff! Then if I want to find my stuff, I have to make my bed and plus its better to sleep on sheets that aren't all messed up

SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Saturday October 16 2004, 12:22 pm: You could get plastic boxes... & if ur in a hurry u could just stuff things in em... & place the boxes under ur bed.... (u can buy the boxes from Wal*mart) u could buy a chair... like an throw ur clothes on it when ur in a hurry... yeah i know that doesnt sound so neat... but its a lot neater than throwing them on the floor... u could get this little plastic drawers from Wal*mart and put em in ur closet... so if u have sumthing whether its clothes or sumthing else u can just stuff it in there [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]

PinkPrincess42 answered Saturday October 16 2004, 12:09 pm: My rooms gets like that all the time. I clean it up and vaccum and dust it and everything and before the next day it will be a mess.. With clothes strown everywhere. If you try to make it a point to pick up your clothes and shoes and everything thats out of place at night, when you get home or before you go to bed, it wont get in such a mess as quickly. If you really wanted to keep it really clean, you could take a day to go through it and get rid of all the junk that you dont ever use, or that you dont want. That would help get rid of some of the excess stuff that compiles in there. But I know how you feel.. its really hard and takes a lot of time to clean your room, but it is so easy and doesnt take any time at all to mess it up. Just try to pick up as you go, when you use things.. just put them where they belong and that will keep you from having to do it later! Hope I could help! Lemme know if this works!! *$eM$* [ PinkPrincess42's advice column | Ask PinkPrincess42 A Question ]
