I just wanted to mention to you that the Monks of New Skete that you mentioned have done NO research on the topic of dog training and their methods are very dangerous.
To take a slightly aggressive dog the size of a year old golden retriever and grab it's collar and stare at it in the eyes will only get you bit. Those methods only scare the dogs and 9 times out of 10 it will only make a dog more aggressive. Especially since most aggressive dogs are only scared.
I sincerely hope you re-think your dog training books and stop telling people about those methods. (link)

There are many ways to train your dog. I definetely will rethink giving people advice about the training program and I thank you once again for opening my eyes.
The monks of new skete have been breeding German Shepherds for many years and love their dogs. Howver, I believe dogs should be trained in a loving way and I think the Monks of New Skete spend plenty of time training their dogs in a loving compassionate way. This dog needs some form of discipline. I really enjoy spending time with dogs, but dogs should be trained from puppyhood. This exercise of discipline was advised because it closely resembles that of how a mother dog would do it to her pups.
In your opinion, how should this dog be trained? I really love dogs and would love to know!

The simple answer to this question is: NO!
Frosted Flakes will be too sweet for a dog and many dogs develop severe diet problems from eating people food.
Along with this, your dog, as in many cases, may soon want all your food and constantly beg guests, family and yourself for food.
A good dry kibble is a great way to keep your dog active and healthy for many years to come!

My yellow lab is a year old and seems to be agressive to new people who come to the house. She looks out the window at people or other dogs who walk by and growls and barks with hair raised on her back.
She has also tore up two expensive throw rugs within a week. We are not home at the time. We have to keep putting her back in her kennel when we leave.
I had a chocolate lab before and she was nothing like our yellow lab.
I have twin daughters, six, I'm afraid she might bite someone one day. She loves the girls but too agressive.

Have you ever read any of the books on the monks of new skete for training dogs. They are absolutely invaluable! They have two books, HOW TO BE YOUR DOG'S BEST FRIEND and THE ART OF RAISING A PUPPY. You need to learn the proper socialization needed for dogs. In both books, bad behavior, such as agressiveness and biting is thoroughly discussed.
You may be leaving your dog home for too long, and for the biting issue, get a nylon meat scented bone for your dog. Also, discipline your dog by giving her a brief shakedown by grabbing her collar picking her slightly up and make eye contact and say NO! NEVER USE THE DOG'S NAME WHILE ADMINISTERING DISCIPLINE! This form of discipline resembles how a mother dog disciplines her pups and is not inhumane!
When a dog bites, firmly discipline her "NO". NEVER DISCIPLINE A DOG WAY AFTER THE FACT. Discipline her in the act or right after. PLAY WITH YOUR DOG 30 minutes after discipline.
Be patient and kind, but show your dog you are the pack leader! There are many exercises in both books helping for the socialization of agressive dogs.
Get the books, and look into a LOCAL DOG TRAINIING CLASS FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG!

my digital camera works, itself.
I can take pictures and all that good stuff
but when i go to upload them onto my computer, it just doesn't work.
it goes the camera screen where i can take pictures and just doesn't uplaod them.
I've tried restarting my computer.
It just started doing this.
someone told me blowing into the retreiving and receiving end of the USBcord would help, but I'm not sure & I don't want to mess up anything. (link)

It won't hurt it. It helps, sometimes, but only if you have a lot of dust and crap in your port. Try using a different USB port on your computer.

I'm 13/f
For some reason I have a lot of trouble going to sleep at night. Since my dad is a doctor, he could easily call in a prescription for some mild sleeping medication, but both he and my mom don't think I should be taking anything like that. My mom does give me something VERY mild called melatonin, but once I stop using it I still can't go to sleep. I'm getting worried because school is starting soon and I won't be able to go to sleep early enough to get 8 hours. Does anyone have any advice on techniques I could use to help me get sleepy and then be able to fall asleep? Thanks! (link)

My boyfriend cheated on me one week after we got together. Now I have taken him back (about 2 weeks after he cheated on me). All of my friends thinks it's a misstake but I believe in second chaces and I like this guy...All advicenators out there do you believe in the term- "once a cheater, always a cheater"??

i have very, very bad sunburn down my back, my arms and half od my torso, and some of my face it gives off a constant burn and is killing me, my gf is probally coming over today and we are very physical and i deathly want to be physical with her but im afraid my sunburn will end up hurting alot(which i can take if it means even a min. with her but i'd rather avoid). so if anyone has a quick remedy, or somthing to reduce its redness and the pain, plz for the love of god tell me. rub aloe vera on it....thats usually works but if not go to the store and they have this oatmeal stuff (not oatmeal you eat lol) that you take a bath in and it works too.

my best friend has bein with her boyfriend for 5 months rite they have had sex about 17 times...

She has already gone back, but the last thing I remember was giving her my camera. I called her, and have been harrasing her, even trying to guilt her about it. Even though this is a major problem, do you think that maybe you could have misplaced it?
In your question you said that you've been really trying to get that out of her. She may be telling the truth that she did not steal it. However, telling your parents in a calm manner about the problem may help, and even talking to her parents may be something to consider.
Has your friend ever had any problems with stealing? If so, confronting her parents is a good idea. If not, she still may have stolen it but I believe the chances are unliklier. Another question to ask is maybe someone else stole it.
Your parents may be more understanding if you act in an adult manner telling them about it. It's still good to reinforce into them your dilemma!
I hope that you find your camera or get a great new one!

You NEED to talk to her parents. You don't have to be nice about it, just flat out say it. She shouldn't have done that & she should be in trouble! Stealing is a sinnnnnn. I'm sorry about that you know.. hope you get it back..

I'm 13 and obviously female and this afternoon I started getting cramps. At first I thought it was just a stomach ache and maybe I ate too much, but it felt kind of different. My mom suggested that I was going to get my period soon, and I already had boobs, hair on my body, and discharge. 3 hours later, when I went to the bathroom I noticed a big dried up brownish spot on my underwear. There wasn't alot of it but it wasn't liquid. Could this be my period? I don't know because people tell me the very first time you get your period you dont have cramps and you don't get cramps until like the 2nd or 3rd time. I didn't feel any blood coming out either. Not to gross you out, but in a way it looks like dried up poop but in a really light brown color. (link)

Hmm. It really sounds like it is your period. I was 13 too.. and I had the sameeee exact thing. It was brownish red and just a dot about the size of 2 quarters. It was like that for about 2 or 3 days then I started gushing blood like normal. (Not really gushing, you know what I mean.)

You need to confront your parents, new boyfriend and perhaps the police about this threat.
Your boyfriend is trying to control and manipulate you and you should not stand for it!
You need to end your relationship with your ex. TOTALLY!

my mom is sooo annoing with puberty and stuff. she acts all embarresed when i talk about it (which i hardly ever do cause since her behavior it makes me humiliated) and she reminds me of a 3 year old. I told her i had my period and she's like ok put a pad on and then for the last 2 days she has been acting all weird to me. We had like 3 pads left when i first got my first period and that was 2 days ago and i still have my period. So right now i'm on my last pad and i've been wearing it all day cause i'm way to embarresed to ask my mom if she can buy more cause then it will be awkward and the awkwardness is just beginning to wear off from when i told her i got my period. and also i'm extremely embarresed to go to the store and buy pads myself. I have no older siblings and I don't want to ask my dad to do it. Gosh PLEASE HELP HOW CAN I GET PADS??? Please I know this annoys you but: please dont tell me to ask my parents to buy some. Also please dont ask me to buy some cause when i went to cvs and bought acne wash for the first time the employee was trying to hide a smile. (link)

Well..there really isn't any other way. You could go over to a friend's house and say "omg.. im on my period, can I borrow a few pads?" then that will last you until your next time..so you could think of something before then. but you could just simply ask your mom to drive you to the store because you have to get a few things, then yeah.. also, i made my mom a "pad" lol when i was like 11..because she was out. i got plastic from a newspaper bag (you could you a grocery bag or anything) and put the on the bottom then put toilet paper on top. the plastic is so the blood will be absorbed by the toilet paper, but it won't leak out. put duct tape or tape on the bottom. idk. this was a hard question, hope i helped.

I am going to be a Junior this fall in highschool which basically means it is time to start looking for colleges
but honestly I don't even know where to start. Like i really don't know much about any college anywhere because well i don't follow college sports or anything to familiarize me with anything.
I know right now i can basically get into any school minus Like harvard (i have a gpa between 3.6- and 3.9 somewhere)
In the next few weeks my mom and I are going to some local schools around Pittsburgh Pa but outside of here i don't know of any schools!
I want to major in Elem. Ed. I think or something around that feild if that helps.
So basically my question is can someone give me some info -background- advice on any good schools for want to be teachers! i would prefer someone who acually knows about the school and not just researched it! (link)

There are many good schools for your educational needs.
One school in particular I know about is Saint Xavier University on the South Side of Chicago. The University is 160 years old and is a liberal arts institution founded by the Sisters of Mercy. The school also has many different public and private elementary schools for which you can student teach. SXU is known for its Nursing and Education departments! It is also very easy to get your Masters there too!

you should use both! use both so that you are extra safe and you have a lesser chance of getting pregnant. the pill may not always work neither the condom too.....so each is like a backup...if the pill doesnt work then the condom might...or if the condom doesnt work then the pill might....hope i helped...♥ terri
