my mom is sooo annoing with puberty and stuff. she acts all embarresed when i talk about it (which i hardly ever do cause since her behavior it makes me humiliated) and she reminds me of a 3 year old. I told her i had my period and she's like ok put a pad on and then for the last 2 days she has been acting all weird to me. We had like 3 pads left when i first got my first period and that was 2 days ago and i still have my period. So right now i'm on my last pad and i've been wearing it all day cause i'm way to embarresed to ask my mom if she can buy more cause then it will be awkward and the awkwardness is just beginning to wear off from when i told her i got my period. and also i'm extremely embarresed to go to the store and buy pads myself. I have no older siblings and I don't want to ask my dad to do it. Gosh PLEASE HELP HOW CAN I GET PADS??? Please I know this annoys you but: please dont tell me to ask my parents to buy some. Also please dont ask me to buy some cause when i went to cvs and bought acne wash for the first time the employee was trying to hide a smile.

And I think the reason your mom is acting wierd is because she is realizing that her "baby girl" is growing up, and she probably misses the old times, before you started your period. YOU NEED PADS, SO ASK YOUR MOM, SHE'LL BUY THEM FOR YOU, I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amagine how wierd she's gonna be when you aren't using pads, when you aren't using anything!!! and if you don't want to ask your mom, then buy them yourself because the employee's job is to sell things to people, and she isn't making money if she doesn't sell them to you!! Razhie answered Thursday July 27 2006, 7:13 pm: You could try and borrow some off a friend, but sooner or later you are going to have to get over this embarrassment. The clerks in the store DO NOT CARE! I promise you, they really don't. I was one. That clerk you thought was trying to hide a smile, was far more likely trying to stifle a yawn (or maybe daydreaming about Brad Pitt). We see everything from condoms and chocolate sauce, to medication for diarrhea. Unless you do something really crazy like talk about wearing them on your head, no cashier is going to take any notice.
Your mother's silly embarrassment is as pointless and groundless as your own. Her embarrassment isn't, and shouldn't be, your problem. Stop letting it stress you out. You need pads; she ought to make sure there are some in the house for you.
Sooner or later you are going to have to tell her to pick some up for you. Why go through all this needless stress now? Just get it over with, tell her, or at very least leave her a note saying that the house is all out of pads and they need to be replaced. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
StarryNightSkies answered Thursday July 27 2006, 5:47 pm: I don't really have that problem with my mom because my family is All girls... even my cats are girls... but if I were in your situation I would probably call a friend and ask if she had some you could use you could also use a piece of cloth or paper towel or wash cloth... also you can find some old pairs of underwear and put like 2 or 3 on at a time...
duudee_advicer answered Thursday July 27 2006, 5:02 pm: Try friends.
When I got embarressed too, I called up a friend and invited her over, she brought me a pack of tampon's that I could have until I had the chance to get some on my own. (= [ duudee_advicer's advice column | Ask duudee_advicer A Question ]
OHilovetravis answered Thursday July 27 2006, 4:26 pm: Well if your mom is acting little shady about the entire situation that's what FRIENDS are for my dear. If you like tell your mom you need money to go on a date with a friend because your wanting to just release some stress n hangout with your friend's. So then go to the store with your friend an pick out some pad's believe me it would be more comfortable if you have a friend with you. If not then just be independant go yourself, tell your mom you need some money because your going to the store to get some stuff, if she ask's what just tell her its nothing important just like you seen a new magazine out or something that you wanted to go get. And then go yourself, an don't worry about what employees say because half of them are bitches and duh obviously they don't have a life if they pay attention to what their costumers are buying an smiling at them. If all else fails she was probably gay lol. Anyway hunnie just do one of the ideas I suggested above but if you have like a light period then just make your own pad with some toilet paper. Anyway hope I helped ya out. Message me if ya need any advice!
orphans answered Thursday July 27 2006, 4:22 pm: Well..there really isn't any other way. You could go over to a friend's house and say "omg.. im on my period, can I borrow a few pads?" then that will last you until your next time..so you could think of something before then. but you could just simply ask your mom to drive you to the store because you have to get a few things, then yeah.. also, i made my mom a "pad" lol when i was like 11..because she was out. i got plastic from a newspaper bag (you could you a grocery bag or anything) and put the on the bottom then put toilet paper on top. the plastic is so the blood will be absorbed by the toilet paper, but it won't leak out. put duct tape or tape on the bottom. idk. this was a hard question, hope i helped. xTakemeawayox answered Thursday July 27 2006, 4:11 pm: Well dont care what others say or think, when you said tht your parents are out of the question then i think you should personally buy them yourself. you really need them so you should go get them yourself. and if you still dont want to do tht you should go to one of your best frineds mom and see if she will take you to get them. I wouldnt be embarrssed to talk to your mom bout this. its natural for mothers and even fathers to act like tht wen their daughter gets the first period. It will fade soon..
hope i helped you and good luck [ xTakemeawayox's advice column | Ask xTakemeawayox A Question ]
shannonbond answered Thursday July 27 2006, 4:10 pm: Ah, who cares what employees think. But anyway, since you don't have a pad handy, try something else. Use toilet paper bunched up, put layers of it, then use it as a pad. Or you can try a small washcloth for now. Your period should be over pretty soon, so you won't have to do it for long.
