i'm not fat, i'm not skinny, but my hips are way disproportional to my body. they're so wide. if i lose weight, will they get skinnier? it doesn't make sense to me that they would since they're bone.

Nope, my hips are like that too. They stick out & are just bone. They won't get any smaller. Bone doesn't shrink when you lose fat, so if you lost all your fat around that area, the rest is what you have. Don't worry about it though. A lot of girls are in the same situation.

is it normal for people to get nervous and come up with excuses not to go out with a person before they do? Or do you think that all of the jitters and thoughts against that person are kind of a sign not to go out with them?

I think it's completely normal, especially if its someone that you don't know very well. I don't know about the whole "sign" thing. It's your own personal feelings that count, so if you feel that the jitters are telling you not to go out with them, don't. Just understand that it isn't always the case. Sometimes the jitters can be a good thing, telling you you like him and you're just nervous you'll mess things up. You should take a chance though. Maybe the jitters are telling you you should try dating them. You should always give someone a chance. If you always say no & just stay safe about it, you'll be missing out on a lot of good relationships. Don't always believe you're going to lose someone once you're in a relationship with them. Yes it does happen, but only to couples that don't work through their problems & don't communicate. You can have a successful relationship with anyone you want to have one with as long as you both try & care about each other. It's always a much better idea to date one of your friends if you want it to last.

There is this guy from work who has been showing an interest in me. The other day he came up to talk to me, and then before he left he said "here's a treat for you". it was a bunched up peice of paper that he was going to thow out any ways. Do you think he did that as an excuse just to touch my hand? Because he's touched me before on my shoulder, but this was the first time he's touched my hand.

We can't really necessarily say he's flirting. It does seem like he shows some interest in you, but all guys are different & so are their personalities. Every guy has different ways of expressing their feelings. He might like you, or he may just be a flirty guy. If you're interested in him, try flirting back & see if he goes with it. If he does, he's most likely interested.

Hey I have a question about clothes. What kind of clothes should I wear to be more attractive to girls. I have most of the basics of dress down but just wanted some tips. Any advice is appreciated. 16/M

Being a girl myself, I think the most attractive thing a guy can wear is his smile. Corny, I know. But really, I think anything that looks washed & fits him is attractive. Try color coordinating it. Sounds a bit weird, but if you match it looks 100% better. Personally, I like just jeans and a tshirt. I really like polos on guys & striped shirts with collars. It really depends on your own personal style & what looks best with your body type. A lot of my guy friends wear jeans & regular shirts from American Eagle. They have a really neat selection of clothing & they're casual. Also, they aren't too expensive.

You need an adult to start any kind of contract. They are the ones who need to sign for you so that the company knows that the bills will be paid every month. You should really talk to him about it. Maybe he's very busy & thinks it would be too much. His dad might not want him to. Maybe it interferes with work? I'm not trying to give him excuses, but there could be a very good reason for it. Why not just asking him about it? Be straight forward & explain how you feel. After you guys talk it out, you can come up with a solution.

So I just bought a bracelet at globalangels.org, because I thought they were cute and for a good cause. I payed through paypal, and filled out all of my information. But it didn't ask for my state. It asked for my name, address, zip code, and phone number, but not my state.

This is probably a bit of a weird question but I just wanna know. I am 17/f and have slept with three guys. I've been in relationships with all of them (all 3 of them were virgins before me) and I didn't personally regret it until a few weeks ago, when I was telling my friends how many people I slept with and they were shocked, and said I should regret it. You decide that for yourself. If you think having sex with those three guys were a bad decision on your part, you might want to rethink it & not have sex until you're ready. Your friends shouldn't be the ones telling you whether to regret something or not. No one can sit here & judge you. You might have made a mistake in other people's opinions, but its your opinion that counts. Next time, seriously think the situation through before acting.

Those articles talk about popular hairstyles. Everyone's hair is really different, so it also depends on the type of hair you have. Curly, straight, etc. I think you should go to the salon & ask the hair dresser for their opinion. Even though you gave us a picture of what you look like & your hairstyle now, they'll actually be able to test different styles on you. Also, ask for friends/family's opinions. You can try different ponytail's, messy buns, etc. Maybe even think about changing the color? It really is up to you since its your hair.

My birthday was June 30th. It was my 16th birthday. I don't know why they forgot my birthday.. they've never forgotten anything of mine before. There wasn't anything going on around that time.. I don't know what the problem is! I am not a bad girl.. my GPA is a 3.85 and I'm always doing chores. Why did they forget? Should I say something? That's horrible & I'm sorry to hear that. They're your parents. They can't just forget their child's birthday. They must just have been extremely busy. I'm not saying that there's any excuse to fix this though. Tell them. You definitely should not have waited 3 weeks to bring it up. Obviously, your birthday is a big deal & they should have at least wished you a happy birthday, even if you guys couldn't celebrate it. You have every right to mention it. You shouldn't get grounded. Just don't sound rude. Just explain how it hurt your feelings & you're a bit concerned.

A chat in AIM is pretty much open to whoever. You can't necessarily 'ban' people, but everyone in the chat can vote to kick people out. There's a link on the side for it. Even though you are the host, you don't have much control. If there's a lot of people you don't want in it, leave & make a new one.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he/she can. It isn't a privacy thing, even though it is a doctor's office. Since you're only 15, your parents are your guardians & chewing tobacco can really affect your mouth. You could always talk to the dentist about it, but since it would be affecting your dental hygiene, they most likely will mention it to your parents.

I think you should just go with it & talk about whatever comes to mind. If you plan out topics to talk about, you probably won't even remember them or it'll seem planned out & get awkward. I think you just need to let yourself relax & go with it. Ask him questions to get to know him. What he likes to do, what he did that day, etc. If you ask him questions & listen, he'll like that you are listening & don't just care about yourself. Just try starting a friendship before getting into a relationship. If you're comfortable with talking to him & there aren't a lot of awkward silences, then you'll know you're ready to move on & date. For more of an interesting convo, it would be easier to ask him random questions about topics & let him go into detail about them & add your own thoughts/opinions.

Like the box says, using a condom is usually 98-99% effective if it's used correctly. A lot of people actually do not know how to use condoms properly. We learned all of this stuff in sex ed. There is always a chance you will get pregnant. Why? Because sex is for having children obviously. As long as the condom is put on properly, it is rare for someone to get pregnant. The pulling out method is definitely not effective. There's always a chance. If you really don't want to become pregnant, don't have sex.
