ok, so yesterday I went to davids bridal and found 2 dresses I really like. I tried on the first dress, and it was pretty when I looked in the mirror, but inside I felt like it was just another wedding dress, and I didnt feel like myself....but the 5 girls that were with me all really loved it and thought it was beautiful.
THEN, I tried on a beautiful princess looking dress, with lots of tulle in the skirt, and the top was a beautifully beaded Halter. Not only did I think I looked pretty, but i FELT beautiful in it, I couldnt stop smiling!!
Then I asked the others what they thought...
every single person preferred the 1st dress over this one.
Yesterday when I tried on those two dresses, the pretty poofy princess dress made me feel the prettiest, and I basically had my mind made up that thats the one I wanted for sure.
Then I texted a picture of it to jay and melissa. my fiance's mom and dad.
Jay, He said he liked it and asked me to email it to him. So i emailed him 2 pictures.....
One of my favorite, the poofy princess one...
A pic of my 2nd choice, the other dress I tried on...just added it to the email to show them.
I thought everything was great....
Until I got an email from melissa.
She said, "I like the 2nd dress better..."
It really upset me because i felt like everyone preferred the 2nd dress over my favorite....
The other dress was pretty when I looked in the mirror, but I felt so uncomfortable, and felt like just another bride. I considered it a dress that people would forget what it looked like as soon as the wedding was over....
The poofy dress made me feel like a princess, and I know people would remember that dress for days....
So I'm stuck. should I go with a dress that everyone likes to see me in and thinks I'm pretty, but not really feel like myself?
or go with the dress I feel the best in and have people think I'm not as pretty?
Why did she even have to stress her opinion about the dress she preferred when I clearly stated in the email which one I wanted????
I'm just getting aggravated because she keeps trying to change my mind about almost everything!!!
If she makes me change
My mind and i have to get my 2nd choice dress I'll feel like I'm settling....
:-(
Congrats on the wedding!
This is YOUR day. Everybody else is coming as YOUR guest, and you have no reason to give up your dream dress just to please them! You're going to look gorgeous no matter what, and nobody will come up to you on your wedding day and say "Well, I really think you shouldn't have gone with that dress...". You don't want to look back on this day and regret not doing what you want. Everybody has their own personal taste and you'll never find a dress that's EVERYBODY's favorite. But on your wedding day, it's all you!
Good luck!

Is there anyway that someone without a highschool education can get a job?? I've applied everywhere and its like no one wants to hire me..I understand not having an education or highschool diploma lowers my chances in working anywhere but I'm in need of a job I dropped out in 8th grade and I have no education what so ever ..and when applyingg what could I say to have them atleast look at my application?
I agree with the others; you need to get some other form of education. In today's economy and job market, EVERYBODY is looking for a job, and why would an employer hire someone uneducated over someone who did complete high school? It's not like without your application you'd have no other options. Sorry :( For the time being, your best shot is to give them a good reason as to why you dropped out. It was a pretty major decision, so why'd you do it? If you have a legitimate, good excuse (needing to take care of sick family would be a good one. Dropping out when you had all the means to continue is not), you can explain it and hopefully some place will be sympathetic. Honestly, though, don't get your hopes up too high. It's a tough situation. Good luck!
A passenger on a Southwest Airlines jet from Phoenix was stung by a scorpion recently. Yeah, I think things like this can happen so I'm not freaking about with, "What are the chances of being stung by a scorpion?!" but I am curious if the guy lived or not! I know scorpions are poisonous--or so I have heard. I can't say for a fact that I know that bark scorpions are poisonous. Anyway, all I really want to know if the guy made it through the sting or if he died...
He's absolutely fine!

You can google "southwest airlines scorpion" and get a ton of other articles.
Im supposed to be going away to school this fall. I graduated in 2008 and stayed home for my first year and commuted to community college but Ive been accepted to a state university and am supposed to start. My main problem is I dont really want to go, I know that I will have a hard time finding good jobs and such if I don't. But I just really dont want to go. Do you think I should? Or should I stick around and try to find a job somewhere?
Definitely go to college. It's so important to have 'the college experience' especially in this economy. When faced with two applicants, any employer would pick the college graduate over someone who stopped after high school.
Why exactly don't you want to go? I don't think anyone can really answer this properly unless we know why. But just think about it; what's 4 years in the long run? Deciding to go back to college after the age you're supposed to is really difficult; just do it now, and your life will end up so much better. What you get out of life is equivalent to what you put in.
Please think more about it. Deciding not to go to college is a HUGE choice that not many people make, and for a good reason. Good luck!
Okay, well I wasn't really sure where to put this but uh here goes. So I'm 13/F and he was 14/M. He is an awesome friend but he's always been a perv. Anyway, he took it too far this time and I flipped out. We were walking in a group and some other guys that we were with were making fun of him about how he "can't get a girl" and he says "I can get any girl I want!" so he grabs me, pins me against a wall, and sticks his hand down my pants. I freaked and kicked him in the balls... He looked like he was in severe pain. I almost felt bad but not really cuz what did he expect? But now he's super pissed at me. I don't think he has a right! Does anyone else think I was out of line?
That was a total invasion of privacy and completely out of line. He made you uncomfortable, why shouldn't he be punished by being uncomfortable too? He'll get over it. Don't let him make you feel bad about it at all!
Hey. I'm 15 almost 16, and I'm female. I get told by a lot of people that I'm pretty, but I don't seem to attract a lot of attention from guys. I'm VERY insecure and old fashioned in the sense that I don't make the first move, ever. Because I'm so insecure, I'm not outgoing when it comes to guys taht I find attractive. I can talk to them as friends, sure, but I would NEVER go up to a random guy and get his attention (by hitting on him or giving him my number or anything) I was wondering if there's anything I can do to make myself seem more interested without having to say anything..
Oh trust me, I know exactly where you're coming from. The thought of hitting on a guy or asking him out seems so foreign to me; I know I'll probably never be that kind of person. I never pictured a boy expressing interest in me at all.
However, a few days ago, some boy asked me out. I tried to think of what I did differently that day, and it seems obvious now. Usually I'm pretty shy, but I was so much more /fun/ that day. I made conversation, I laughed, I suggested doing things, I talked. I don't think there's a 'trick' to getting boys to like you; not to use an old cliche, but be yourself. Just put yourself out there. Try not to smile along and go with the flow- do something! Good luck!
im allowed to get a tattoe thats small. i want it to be on my foot, so when i wear flip flops people can see it =) any ideas other than stars and hearts?
This is the kind of question that people on the internet can't answer. When you're 40 years old and someone asks for the meaning of your tattoo, are you going to say that some stranger on advicenators.com suggested it? This is going to be there for the rest of your life; on your wedding day, when you have kids, when you die. Make it worth it.
Think back to your childhood or family; is there anything that sticks out to you there? Can you think of a quote that means a lot to you, and get it written in nice letters on your foot? You'll have to think long and hard about this. Good luck!
what's up with everyone dieing?
first it was michael jackson, now it's billy mays?! and they both died at the age of 50.
DOUBLE-YOU-TEE-EFF?! >:(
Actually first it was Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett, then Michael Jackson, then Billy Mays. It's sad, bu people die every day. It's only when they happen to be famous that we hear about it :(
Why do people insist on bashing Michael Jackson after he's died? The man lost his life long before he died! Why can't we just let the King of Pop rest in peace now?
I went to Yahoo! Answers to ask a question about Michael Jackson and people just went nuts over him being a child molester and pedophile and how he tried to kill his youngest child (Prince Michael II) called Blanket. They kept talking about how awful he was and I wasn't even asking a question about that!
Why do people insist on this now? It's only hurting the Michael Jackson fans who are trying to deal with this grief. I feel like I can't talk about him positively without someone coming in and saying how he was such a horrible person and deserved to die. I just don't understand why people seem to be trolling about Michael Jackson at this time--when he JUST died! Help me understand?
Though we might never know what really happened with this specific person, some people consider child molestors the lowest of the low, the scum of the earth. Though he was very talented, sure, it's absolutely ridiculous to ignore this other possible part of his life. For the people who believe it's true, it's very hard to put the fact that he molested a child aside. Phil Spector; great musician, but he killed someone and that's inexcusable.
Someone said that Michael Jackson had something called Peter Pan Syndrome and I'm just curious why he had that. I understand that it's why he had the children at his house a lot and why he seemed childish in a lot of ways. They even said that's why he had the private amusement park, The Neverland Ranch, created.
What causes this peter pan syndrome and why did Michael Jackson have it? I'm just curious.
Agreed with the person under me, Michael Jackson simply wasn't a normal child. His father abused him and when he was on tour as a little boy, his siblings would sometimes have sex (with other people!) while he was in the hotel room. It's a really difficult question to ask because there's so many factors that go into it, but he never grew up normally and possibly could have been grasping for a time of innocence.
How tall is Dinara Safina and how tall is Daniela Hantuchova?
I saw them and told my mom I thought they seemed taller than me and she said they surely couldn't be because I'm about 180cm and that's pretty tall for a girl. Just curious, I guess, because they're totally awesome tennis players! :D
Google says Dinara Safina is 6'2" (1.88 m) and Daniela Hantuchova is 5'11" (1.81 m).
what does it mean if your period blood is brown?
It means it's dried blood, which just means you're nearing the end. Nothing harmful, happens to most people :)
What are some stores that are like Bebe, Express and even Free People where college girls shop at? Like dressy and edgy clothing not like Forever 21, AE, Hollister, etc
Thanks =]
Try Urban Outfitters! It's owned by Free People, too.
i want to put a big peace sign on my wall. my dad won't let me paint one on there because he says i'll get sick of it and want him to repaint it a month later, and he won't want to do it. so i need another way to put a big peace sign on there. i know there is a peace sign light up thing in PB teen but i can't really afford to get that, because its like 150 dollars. soo yeah. does anyone know of either a cheaper light up/nonlight up peace sign i can get from a store somewhere? or any ideas on how i can make one and put it on my wall?

I'm fourteen
I'll be fifteen August Fifteenth
My parents are apparently running low on money and I'm getting tired of my dad yelling at me everytime I ask for ten bucks
I also need money so I can go out shopping and stuff
But because of my age. Not many places will hire
I'm thinking I'll be the only sophmore without a job come September
So, are their any places that will hire at fourteen?
Or even fifteen?
I live in northern New Jersey, if that helps
Thanks. (:
Are there any Ralph's Italian Ices by where you live? I know there's about a dozen in New Jersey. They hire at fourteen and it's really easy, everyone I know who works there loves it. You just hang out in an air conditioned little booth/shop and serve ices.
Many ice cream parlors (Baskin Robbins, Carvel, etc), movie theaters, and grocery stores hire at 14 or 15. The best thing you can do is just call around local shops; that's what I did to find a job for the summer ("Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I'm going to be fifteen. I was wondering if there were any positions available for September?"). Your best bets aren't big corporations, but little stores around town.
Good luck!
Does anyone know of a really great romance novel that would make me cry?
Or even just a sad book that's somewhat of a tearjerker?
I love sad stories with no "neat" endings. Lol I know that sounds depressing but yeah, that's it.
Thanks!
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton is a great classic romance novel. It's a relatively short and quick read, and the ending is anything but happy, while still being quite romantic.
If you're looking for something a bit more modern, Jodi Picoult books usually have pretty depressing endings-- I don't know anybody who didn't cry at the end of My Sister's Keeper. Another one of her books, The Pact, really focuses on a romance between two teenagers. Pretty sad, too :(
I want to design my room with a south african/safari vibe but not like nursery or anything, like the rooms on this web page:http://zulunyala.com/accomgl.htm#1

ok this is a little wierd for me so please be open minded about this, i have a 13 year old daughter and well i need to know the age that girls start have periods i'm her father and only parent and i just don't know these things about girls, and also she said that she wanted to know what sex felt like and that someone told her that it would hurt at 13 years old, but i told her that she shouldn't think about things like that that she should wait until she got married but still she asked and it deserves an answer so i kinda need a womans advice on this because i'm clueless on either part, so please help, thanks
12-16 is the average from my experience, but it can really start anywhere from 10-17 years old. Having pads around the house is a good idea. It's going to be awkward-- it's awkward with everybody-- and no girl really enjoys discussing it with her parents, whether it's her mom or dad. She might not want to talk about it at all, but pads are pretty simple to use, so I'd make sure they're around the house just in case she needs them. Try not to make a big deal about it! The worst thing is when my mom brings it up, I get all squirmy and uncomfortable. It happens to all girls, obviously, and it'll happen to her too :)
I have absolutely no experience with the sex thing, so I can't tell you anything useful about that.
Good luck!
I'm 16 years old and when I went to go to the doctor's (the gynecologist) office for birth control, she asked me if I was sexually active.
Why did she ask me if I was having sex? Is it really necessary?
Like everyone else said, yes, it's necessary. She needs to know what her patients are doing and what risks could possibly occur; plus, there are different kinds of birth control (whether it's pills or something else) for different situations, depending on whether someone is trying to prevent pregnancy or just shorten periods.
Next time, though, feel free to ask her why she's asking! You should know what's going on between you and your doctor.
