i went to the doctor for a check up a few weeks ago and got the results back today, and it said that my cholesterol was 217 and triglyceride level was 171. I know that's not good but i really don't know what to do about it. I'm 15 and my cholesterol has been kind of high since i was about 13, but its not like i'm not active or anything. I swim competitively and play softball. My dad's side of my family has a history of high cholesterol so could most of it be hereditary? I mean yes I do eat sugary foods but I think I balance my diet out pretty well since I also eat a lot of fruits and grains. What should I do?

egg yolks, seafood, and redmeat have the highest content of cholesterol. eat those sparingly.
Now, since you already have high cholesterol, you can take garlic pills. They're off-the-shelf pills you can get from your local grocery store.
I had high cholesterol at one point, but now I'm fine. I just ate those foods sparingly and I'm fine.

beckyboo has covered long island(the suburbian part) and the city, but she actually lives 40 minutes away. silly girl. but i'll cover upstate new york for you. In upstate new york, there are some suburbs, but its mostly poorer/lower-middle class rural folk. some people are amish and a lot of people there are orthodox jewish.
New York State's just really strange cause it's three sections are so defined from eachother.

I think that's a really cute idea. To make it more "cutesy" you can tie white ribbon around pigtails in your hair.

I've seen a lot of people on here asking questions who are like 13 and 5"9 and 14 and like 5"8. Well, I'm 5"4, and I know I'm going to be tall when I grow up, like 5"9 or so. So anyway, like no one I know looks like they're done growing at 5"10 or whatever. Is it normal for me not to be done growing and for others to be? Isn't it sort of early for people to be done growing at 5"10 when you're only like 13 or 14? (link)

I have a project that I'm doing for class, basically its comparing my school to those other schools around America. I was curious if you guys could send in facts about your school such as its location (just state will be fine), dress code rules (especially if you have really random, strict ones!) number of dances/events a year, if cell phones/mp3s are allowed on campus, other positives/negatives about your school!

-we don't really have a dress code, but it just says "to dress in accordance with standards consistent with the health, safety, and welfare of students and the ordrly and efficient operation of the school." basically to just keep a good image. I mean, people will still wear belly shirts and booty shorts, but nothing with offensive writing on it.
-there are two events, I believe. homecoming carnival and senior prom.
-cell phones and mp3 players are allowed in school, but not allowed to be used during class. some teachers argue over whether they're allowed to be used between classes though. but mostly no teacher will care if you're using it in the hallways between classes
-we have 61 after school clubs, many electives to choose from
-People around here are just really snotty or think they're "gangsta."
-no air conditioning except in the offices
-Our school has a very high ranking and very high standards compared to the whole nation

In February, I'm having a Valentine's Day party but I don't know where I should have it. I have a medium-sized house and a really big backyard, and I was thinking of having it in my backyard, except I think it would be too cold (I live in Massachusetts). As long as it doesn't snow, rain, hail, sleet or anything like that, you can have it in your backyard.
To keep yourselves warm You should serve hot cocoa with whipped cream and heart sprinkles, or hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it. You can lay out throw blankets for everybody to use and share, or ask everybody to bring their own throw blanket or beach towel. When you guys get too cold, you can all just sit and share blankets in a circle while sipping from your hot drinks and chatting. It would be fun for everyone and romantic for the couples.

I've been dating this guy for sometime now. It was an internet relationship, but i didnt care. He was sweet and made me feel so much better about myself in so many ways. We used to say to tell each other that we loved each other everytime we talked. But recently i he wasnt on for a while. I kept on loving him. There was a place to put if you had a special person, so I put his picture on there saying that i always will love him. When he got back on he said he didnt love me anymore. I was crushed and we've been talking about it. Now he is saying that he isnt the same type of guy and that i should judt forget about him, and he doesnt get why i still love him. the question is, why all of the sudden does he not love me? Is it because the natural male instince to run when a woman says she loves a guy? (link)

I just bought this costume for Halloween, and then I realized that at the end of October, at night, it's going to be freezing and I need to cover up.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can layer myself so that I'm warm, but it doesn't change the whole costume? I was thinking of wearing thick socks under the stockings, etc. I don't want to wear, for example, a hoodie over it because then the whole costume is changed.

You should definitely do the socks under stockings thing, and try wearing a skin-tight 3/4 sleeve white shirt under it. That would look as if it were part of the costume.
Also, I just find it funny that people are telling you to get cardigans and sweatshirts, even though you specifically said that it would cover the costume. *shrug*

so i used to have super long hair, and all one length...but i just got it cut.

You want to hear the truth about that stuff?
It's complete bullshit. There's no way to take chinese characters to form a lettered name. The chinese alphabet doesn't work in letters. They stand for different words/parts of words. There is no way that you can transform elizabeth into chinese, and if anyone claims they've done anything like that before, its complete, utter bull. They might try to be matching sounds, but it can never be fully correct. She could always get the name elizabeth done in a calligraphy font though. I know it's not what you're looking for, but it's an alternative.

well, this is the first year our school has been open and so the theme for the first homecoming is a "black and silver ball" incidentally the schools colors. however im on student council which is like the homecoming committe this year and no one has any ideas for decorations! everyone wants this theme to work and for the homecoming to be extremely special. please please help. thanks (link)

If your school budget is high enough to afford fabrics, buy 2 parts black fabric to 1 part shimmering silver fabric. pin the black fabric up around the walls in those upside down arches (you should know what I'm talking about), and then put a silver layer on top, and then another black layer ontop, sandwiching the silver. It'll look really pretty if it's done neatly.
You can get cheap, plstic, shimmering silver goblets, and wind black ribbon around the stem. (if your school allows you to) spraypaint the chairs silver and tie a black bow on the back.
Would you be able to get a discoball? If the rest of the room's done elegantly, the disco ball will just accentuate all the silvers. If the room isn't done so great, it might be quite tacky...so watch out for that.

It really depends on the guy. My friend is in a really sweet, trustful, loyal relationship with somebody, and he was over my house and he got a boner. I'm sure it wasn't even from me.
But if your guy has a history of cheating, or flirting with other girls, I'd watch out.
