NYC: Their life is more fast-paced. They tend to have more money, better jobs, & things are just more entertaining there. The things they have/want are more expensive & it's just more fun.
A person in NYC would consider me to be an Upstate NY'er, but in Rochester, we consider ourselves Western, NY. Anyways, we're more suburbian, boring & middle to low-class. There's not many things to do or see, & we're a lot cheaper. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

In upstate new york, there are some suburbs, but its mostly poorer/lower-middle class rural folk. some people are amish and a lot of people there are orthodox jewish.
New York State's just really strange cause it's three sections are so defined from eachother.
NYC=city, but well you knew that =P

beckyboo answered Tuesday October 30 2007, 8:04 pm: NYC is like no other place in the rest of NY. In the city, it's busy, crowded, high powered, diverse; most of the world knows what it's like. Some parts of it are what you see in magazines; high fashion, expensive, Times Square, etc, and some parts are run down, drugged up, and filled with the homeless.
I don't think any other city in NY is like NYC. Most people live in the suburbs; houses with lawns, backyards, etc. I live about 30 minutes away from NYC and where I live, people visit semi-often.
I haven't been to upstate NY much, but a lot of it is historical. Once I went on a field trip there and we saw a governor's mansion, and a bunch of other historical sights that I forgot :P. [ beckyboo's advice column | Ask beckyboo A Question ]
