I don't know why I've suddenly thought of this, but here it goes. My dog, Lucky, is really old.. around 16 or 17. He's a small dog, and is doing well for his age, but he is really old and getting slow. It started occuring to all of us that he's going to die pretty soon, probably within a year. I don't know how I'm going to react when that happens, but as they say, that's life.
My question is, if any of you have had a dog die naturally, or by being put to sleep, who took care of the remains? I know it's a crazy question, but does the vet have someone take on that responsibility?
I work at a Vet Clinic.
Here's what happens with our patients when they die.
If it is a natural death, and the dog died at home, then the owners can choose to bring the dog in. The vet will arrange for the cremation, and, if you want to get the ashes back, will arrange to get the ashes back to you. If the animal died in the clinic, then the owner still has the same choice. If they don't want to have the animal cremated, then they can take the body home, and do as they please as far as burying him/her.
Basically, the same thing happens when they animal is "put to sleep" or euthanized. You would bring your animal in, say goodbye and then either wait with the animal as they inject the drugs, or leave the animal there while they inject the drugs. Then you can choose to have the Vet arrange to cremate your animal or you can bury them yourself.
Any other questions about what happens at the Vet, just ask me.

oke well my dog has too much ticks and when my mom and dad take them out then they come again and so they dont do it anymore and i love my dog and so i would love too pet him but i hate ticks
so will you give me advice on how too get ticks a way
thanks
The only way to effectively remove a tick is to pull it with your fingers, or tweezers.
Do not let your dog become overcome with ticks. Ticks can spread diseases. If a tick has been sucking blood for more than 24 to 48 hours, then there is a very real chance that he has contacted lyme disease. Lyme disease is prevalent in almost the entire United States.
Also, if your dog has too many ticks he could become anemic, which means he is losing too much blood. With so many ticks, they are constantly sucking blood, and that can start to add up and he won't have enough blood to keep his organs running.
First, get all of the ticks off of your dog. Then get a monthly flea and tick treatment like frontline or advandix. Do not use Harts. Harts uses poisonous products that, if used improperly can kill your animals. Harts also doesn't even work. Frontline or advantix might be a bit more expensive but it's worth it to use something that will actually keep the ticks off of your dog.

Hi,
We recently adopted a 3 year old male Saint Bernard. He was not eating at the shelter, and within a few days of getting him home, he developed pneumonia, which our vet is treating with antibiotics.
When we tried to give him dog food (pedigree dry, canned, and a mix of both), he backs away from the dish as if he's afraid of it. The only thing we've been able to get him to eat is food that I've cooked. Today he had a mixture of deboned chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, & lima beans. He has lost a lot of weight from his illness & not eating.
How can I get him to eat dog food?
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
If he's eating the chicken mashed potatoes and lima beans, I'm assuming it's boiled chicken and no butter or anything on the potatoes. This is a bland diet, I work at a vet clinic and this is what we tell people to feed their animals when they're having trouble with diarrhea. Having a bland diet helps to keep their G.I. system healthy when their sick.
BUT this kind of diet can't be fed for too long of a time. Feeding only those items aren't formulated properly like store bought dog foods. He's not getting the right amount of vitamins and minerals. But, for now, the most important thing is that he keeps eating. If he's sick, has an infection in his lungs, then he absolutely needs to get food in his stomach to help him get better. The previous person mentioned that dogs won't starve themselves. But, what she might not realize is that a dog who is not healthy isn't going to eat like a healthy one. You can't totally take away the only food that he's eating right now, because he needs the energy.
So, what you need to do is find out what kind of food he will eat. Try different brands and different flavors. There may be some flavors that actually have chicken, potatoes and lima beans. Wellness is a pet food brand that has many different flavors. You could also try to get some prescription diets from your vet, they have a lot of different flavors. I know where I work, we try Hills A/D, and animals who won't eat anything usually try that.
Your vet can give you some ideas as well.

I don't know what I want to major in in college. I want a bachelor's degree.
It's hard for me to decide because I don't want to take 20 classes in one area, like business or anthropology or what-not. I have researched [using collegeboard.com] "general studies" majors and "general foreign languages" majors [because foreign languages are the only thing I excel at], but the colleges are limited.
What do you suggest I do? I'm not interested or motivated enough to take so many classes in one area. =/
If your not motivated enough to take all the classes needed in one area for a bachelors degree, then maybe you shouldn't be enrolled in a bachelors degree just yet. Like the last person mentioned, you can start out as an undeclared major. If you want to take specific classes, then you might want to start an associates degree in whatever your interested in, like a foreign language. Most classes, aside from the boring general education classes are only open to students seeking a degree in that subject.
Working at an associates degree and having an undeclared major will help you decide what you want to take 20 or so classes in. Because, if you plan on getting a BA, then your going to have to do that eventually.
You also might want to think about how those classes are going to help you in the future. Do you really want to spend thousands of dollars on something that your not going to be able to make any money with to help you pay off that thousands of dollars?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a while now. He finally has told someone (me) about what has happened in his childhood and how messed up he is about it. He does drugs all the time, drinks, smokes. He used to cut himself but he is done with that and he and I want to get married. My problem is that he recently told me that he wants to also start having sex with other people, that he wants to act out his physical attraction but still be with me. In his mind, he thinks that sex and love are 2 different things, that he can separate the 2 without any attachments to another person and the other eprson won't have any attachment to him. We got into this huge argument about it, him not realizing that just by saying that, it hurt me so much. Well, in the end, he had sex with the girl anyways (but he didn't cum), but now the girl is possibly pregnant. She says that she hadn't had sex with any other person in that time period but they used a condom and it didn't break. How could she have gotten pregnant? I am devastated. I don't know what to do. I want to stay with him, and he knows that I am hurt so badly by these turns of events. But I just don't want to get out of bed in the mornings, I can't go to classes, and when I do, I don't understand anything that the teachers say because I am so numb because of it. I love him so much, and he loves me, but I don't know how I can trust him again without feeling like this.
I don't want to be told that I have to dump him or should dump him, I don't want to do that, I just want to be able to talk to him and not feel like screaming at him. We have been through so much already, and I don't want this to be the end.
Thank you all for your time in reading and responding to this question.
I'm assuming that this is the same person who asked about her fiancee who wants to sleep with other people previously. So, I won't add a whole lot of how it will never work out, because I already answered the last question.
But, I just wanted to add that there is no way that this boy, and I emphasize boy instead of man... this boy, does not love you. If he loved you then he would have put your feelings before his need to get off.
This is a prime example of how dumb it is for him to think that sex does not lead to people getting attatched.
Either this girl is telling the truth, and he'll alwasy be attatched to this other person because of a child. Or, this girl is lying and is obviously very attatched to him and wants to keep him by any means possible.
Either way you cannot stay with him. Think of how you feel right now, and now imagine him doing this over and over again. You will have to feel the same pain over and over again. I've been cheated on before, and trust me, no matter how hard you try, you will NEVER be able to trust this boy again. You'll always wonder if he's lying to you about everything.
I know it's hard right now, but if you dont' get out of the situation, then it will always be hard. If you get out of it now, then it will hurt for a while, and you'll eventually move on. If you continue to stay with him, then it will never get better.

I'm on Depo Provera, the birth control injection, and I started spotting today. I know it's supposed to happen, but does it continue for long? Is it going to get heavy? If anyone has experience with this, please let me know, because I want to see my boyfriend tomorrow.
It's a known side effect in the first 3-6 months, but you might want to call your doctor just in case. With Depo Provera, you're supposed to not have any periods. That is what happened to me when I took it. But, like the person who answered before me, some people have the opposite effect.
So, spotting is normal, but no one can know what your body is going to do, since it's different for everyone. I would plan on having a full blown period when you see your boyfriend. That way, if it's stops you'll be pleasantly surprised, and if it keeps coming, you'll only already expect it.
Also, you might want to rethink your choice of birth control. Depo Provera has been rumored to cause bone degeneration. That's the main reason I stopped taking it.

Every week a section in my band class has a test on a piece of music. You have to play in front of everybody and I get really nervous. It's also a competition between you and your section, which makes me even more anxious. Sometimes, right before I play, I almost feel like I have to throw up. I'm really good at the music, but my nerves make me have a poor performance. What are some tips that can help me calm my nerves right before I play so I can relax and play well?
You might not like this idea, but you might want to try to actually let yourself throw up before hand. It might help get the jitters out before you have to get up in front of everyone.
My speech teach told us about a student she once had. This student got really nervous before every speech. He would get so nervous that he would show up a little early, practice his speech, go to the bathroom, throw up, go back to class and give his speech perfectly.
If you get it over with beforehand, then you won't have to worry about it while you play.
It's only an idea.

my guidance councelors make a big deal out of at least 2 years of a foreign language in HS. i took spanish 1 and did well but last year i took spanish 2 for a little but i had to drop it because i absolutely couldnt do it, my teacher is an idiot ... my question is if you have not completed 2 or more years of foreign language does the college require you to take it ? i really dont wanna take it ... i think its such a waste of time & i dont wanna do it at all
In my opinion, if your only going to a liberal arts college, as most people (in the U.S.) do, then you shouldn't worry too much about 2 years of foreign language. I also took two years of spanish, did alright the first year, and horrible the second year. I also blame the teacher, but it could have also had a lot to do with the fact that I started drinking a lot more that year... who knows..
Anyway, any liberal arts college, like most state universities, aren't going to care if you took two years of a spanish class in high school.
But, you should check out any particular colleges that your looking at going to. Look at their websites, and perhaps call their admissions office. Everyone in the admissions office of any college should be equipped to answer all of the questions from confused high schoolers, first year students, and everyone else.
If it's going to bring your GPA down, then it might be a good idea to focus on the things that will actually help you out when you get into college.

I am a female and have been with my boyfriend/fiancee' for about 2 years. I recently moved away to college and had to leave him behind because I have to live in a dorm my first year. I visit home all the time and spend most of my time with him and not my family. I love him, and he loves me, I know this I really do, but lately all he has been talking with me about is that he wants to have sex with other people, that love and sex are not connected in his mind and that he is sexually attracted to another person, but not in love with them. This makes sense, and I understand him, but I told him that if he wants to have sex with another person, we are not together because I am not going to be waiting at home while he has sex with another. He doesn't understand that it's cheating on a person when you sleep with another while dating. He doesn't think that he should choose one or the other, he wants both. He thinks that I don't love him and that I don't understand him/ want him the way he is. The thing is I don't want him to resent me if he decides that he wants to stay with me and not have sex with other people and that I want him to see my point of view on this. I want him to understand me because he doesn't get what it would be like, he keeps telling me that I could have sex with other people as long as I didn't get attached to them, which he says I would do. I keep telling him that I don't want anyone else, but he doesn't think that he would get hurt because of it, if I did in fact sleep with another person.
I really have no idea what to do. I want him to be happy, which would mean giving him up, but I want to be happy myself, which would mean we would stay together and he would "forget" that side of him. Any advice on this, any thoughts that you have would be nice. I really appreciate you all taking time to read and answer this. Thank you.
From what you've said, it seems obvious that the two of you will not last in the long run. If he thinks that sex is separate from love, and he is able to have sex with anyone that he feels like having sex with, and you don't feel that way, then that's a pretty big problem.
With what you've said from how he is acting and what he is saying about the situation, it seems like he's going to do it eventually, with or without your permission. That is, if he hasn't already done it. He might keep his penis to himself for a while, but he will keep putting it into his mind that it's not a bad thing for him to cheat on you as long as he doesn't get emotionally involved. If he tells himself that he isn't doing anything wrong, then he'll be able to cheat on you while keeping his conscience clear.
If he's going to hold it against you for the rest of your life that he couldn't cheat, are you really going to be happy with him? If he's going to cheat, are you really going to be happy with him?
I think you guys should break up. At least for a while until your boyfriend/fiancee finds out what he really wants. Does he want to have sex with whoever he feels like, or does he want to have a loving relationship with one person. If that never happens, then it wasn't meant to work out between you two, if it does, and you haven't already found someone who will respect your wished and wants what you want in life, then maybe you two should be together. But definitely not for now.
Ask yourself what you would tell your best friend if she told you that her boyfriend wants to sleep with other people, and it's not considered cheating. Would you think that your friend's boyfriend loved her, even though he wants to sleep with others? It might be easier if you forget about the past, and how happy you were with each other, and just look at this situation, and if it continues, then ask yourself if you'll be happy in another few years.

what would happen if i take in another male cat. i have one and he is very mellow, and the one that i will adopt is from a vet office, and is used to other animals. both are neutered. will they get along well?
please answer only if you have experience with ownership of multiple cats please!!!
I am taking classes as a veterinary tecnician, and durring my classes, I have become involved with spay/neuter clinics. That is a program that spays and neuters stray cats, as well as some special cases of pet cats. The teacher who has gotten me involved with this is a cat expert, so I have learned quite a bit from her about cats and their odd behavior.
What I can tell you is that you will never be able to know if they will get along until you bring the new cat home. You could have two cats who have gotten along with other cats in the past and when you bring them together, they won't necessarily like each other. Especially at first.
But, one thing I can tell you for sure from experience with my cats, and from what my teacher has told us about her cats, female cats are much less likely to get along than male cats. So, your at an advantage with both of the cats being male.
Both of the cats will most likely be stressed out at first, but will eventually get used to the situation. Like the others have said, they might not be best friends ever, but they'll learn to ignore each other in most cases.
I have two cats. When I brought the second one in the house, it took only a couple of days for them to get used to each other, and now thier friends. My mother on the other hand has five cats. Some of them get along, and the majority of them can stand to at least sleep on the same couch in peace. But there is one cat who doesn't like any other cats, or loud people for that matter. This cat is happy, and finds a way to live with the other cats, but will never be friends with them.
So, you never know if the cats will be best friends, simply tolerate each other, outright avoid each other, or if they will constantly fight and not be able to live with each other.
But, chances are that they will AT LEAST be able to avoid each other in peace.

Alright, i've had this puppy for about 4 months, hes a golden doodle, his Mother was a standard poodle and his Father was a Golden Retriever, hes black with curly curly hair. well, I convinced my mom to let me keep him as a house dog, but i need to find out a few things. okay, what are some things dogs can/cannot eat. I know dogs cant have chocolate, but i know there are certian fruits and vegitables dogs cant have. can somebody tell me, or give me a website that will tell me what dogs can/canot eat? i dont wanna keep him inside and have him die cuz he ate something, or if we fed him something wrong. I've heard they cant have garlic, but again, idk.
thank you so much!
chocolate is super bad, if your dog had enough, then you would start to see the effects of her poisoning in about a half hour or so.
Grapes are also poison to animals like dogs and cats. You won't see the effects of them until later in life, but it's not pretty. Giving your dog grapes as a treat won't just choke your dog, it will cause kidney problems. Raisens are worse because they're just concentrated grapes.
Pork, like most hot dogs, are also dangerous. Many people go into vet clinics right after the holidays like easter, where everyone eats ham. This is because people who feed their dogs table scraps are feeding their dog things that are going to cause major health problems. It's not JUST the risk of getting your dog majorly fat and unhealthy, it's the risk of killing all of your dogs internal organs.
There might be some kind of "doggy chocolate" to give your dog, but I wouldn't advise it. You dont want your dog to get a taste of chocolate. They already have a sweet tooth like everyone else. Say you drop your candy bar while your dog is around. If she thinks that chocolate is her treat as well, she won't hesitate to chomp it up.
Plus, I know a friend who tried feeding her dog "doggy ice cream" and he had diarrhea every day he had it. I can't imagine that being healthy, or comfortable for the dog.
Your right about garlic being dangerous, onions are also dangerous.
Here's a more complete list from the ASPCA

good luck.

I work 34-56 hours a week at a job, and 10-22 hours at an internship. I'm in 3 college classes and I have a baby. I have no time for friends or fun, and I don't seem to get any time for myself. This will all change in a few months, but I need to hang on until then.
This is what my day is like, 6-7 days of the week: 5:00 wake up, 7-3 Work, 3-6 Intern, 6-7:30 dinner and baby's bedtime, 7:30-9 school work, 9:30 bed.
You see, I only have an hour and a half with my baby, and spare in-between minutes with my husband. Does anyone have good ideas on how to make more time for myself, or at least make things more bearable until its all over? Thanks!! I really appreciate your suggestions!
If I was you, I would try to cut your work week back to 4 or so days a week. Although I don't have a kid, I know what it feels like to wake up, go to work, then more work, then get home only to do more work. If you were able to cut your work hours down, then you could spend some mornings with your baby, and, god forbid, maybe actually have a few minutes a week to just relax.
Another person mentioned having your husband help with dinner. That would be a great idea. Even if he's working as hard as you are, you guys could both share the burden, that is, if he isn't already helping.
I know what it's like to have no time for friends or fun, but, if it will change in a few months, I think just taking some time for yourself by cutting back a few days of work will help your get through the next few months.

Can dogs be allergic to other dogs? Is that possible?
No, it's not possible. It would be like a person being allergic to themselve. It's also not possible for a cat to be allergic to themself. If a cat gets red dots, then there is a different problem. A being can't be allergic to itself. That being would die as a baby if they were.

My wife and I had a 4-month old Maltese Pooh. My wife took Motita to Petsmart for her first haircut; and at that time, Motita was fine, in good health, and happy. A little more than two hours passed, and when my wife returned, she was met with scared employees. Once she was given the dog, she knew why. Motita was frightened, disoriented, and in shock. About 30 minutes later, Motita started to bleed from her nose and mouth. Thirty minutes later, while my wife rushed her to a vet, Motita passed away. I have my ideas, but what are some of the possible causes of her death?
I would have the vet give the dog an autopsy. I have sat through an autopsy on a cat to give the owners peace where the doctor found out that there was nothing that would have saved the cat because she had an unforseen heart problem that took her suddenly.
To me, it sounds like Motita may have been given some sedatives or tranquilizers. Groomers might be able to give them to some pets if they are very bity and hard to handle, but they usually save them for the very very worst animals because problems like this can happen.
It's also possible that there was some abuse by one of the employees who might get easily frustrated with wiggly or biting dogs. It seems like someone like that shouldn't work with dogs in the first place, but it does happen, especially at a pet store where they are more likely to strive for the extra money as opposed to striving for the animals best intentions.
It is also possible that the dog had a condition that was heightened because of the stress of being at a groomers.
So, most thoughts go to "blame petsmart", but it's possible that there was nothing they could have done differently with everything they knew about the dog.
Talk to your vet about doing whatever they can to find out what happened.

if you have a drivers permit and turn 21 years old, how does the "you must drive with someone else over 21" rule work?
You still need to drive with someone over 21 in the passenger seat. Once you get your license, it won't matter who's in the car with you. The "No one under 18 in the car with you" rule won't matter, but for right now it's the same rule for you as it is for any other person with a permit.

hi,i know this is long, but you'll be helping innocent creatures instead of me. well today i went in to a pet shop that i have only ever been to once before. i never knew that they sold livestock, untill i heard biirds chirping for the first time. i went over and saw wide but short cages holding birds. first i saw somethings called a "rainbow pennat rosera" or something along those lines. it had a medium cage but was all puffed up, and it actually looked really dirty, like it had been rolling in dry dirt, and its feathers were all puffed up. i dont know if they are supposed to look like that as ive never seen (or heard of) that breef before. next i saw budgie, about 10 of them in 1 cage, it was maybe 3 feet wide and really short. next i saw about 5-8 cockatiels in the same type of cage. the bird would have hit its head on the top if the perch was any higher. i dont know if these are signs of a bad shop, but they seem pretty bad. is there anything i can do for these creatures who deserve a better home? my friend thought of a really crazy idea, where he records the birds on his phone and if they tell us not to record, they are hiding something. should we try it? also i thought i would add that there was a healthy looking green parrot on the counter, that was chirping away. do you think that they put the 1 healthy bird in a big cage at the front so people think its of high standards?
This sounds like a perfect example of why you should NEVER buy animals from a pet store. We had a pet store in my area that was much like that. It was called Get A Pet, but was referred to as Ghetto Pet by everyone. People only buy animals from places like that because they feel bad for the animals. But do not do that. The animal that you buy will only be replaced by an equally as unhealthy animal the next day. Don't buy anything from that pet store, even if it's not living.
If no one buys anything from them, then they will soon be out of business. If you want to do something about it then try to call a local animal shelter and ask for numbers to call about animal abuse.
Birds need height, not length. They need to be able to fly.
You can try the phone thing, but I'm sure from your description that this place has something to hide. Most pet stores do.. they're looking to make money, and do not care about the health of the animals they're selling.

I have a problem with my cat.
We feed him a sachet of food in the morning, leave some biscuits down for the day and give him another sachet of food in the evening. This is normally enough for him. When we first got him, I checked with the vet, who agreed this was adequate.
The problem is that over the last few weeks in particular, he seems to be starving all the time. He's getting into our kitchen and living room bins and dragging old empty sachets and leftover food out of them! He even took out two pieces of garlic bread during the night and ate most of them!
I'm worried there might be something wrong that is increasing his appetite. There don't appear to be any other symptoms so maybe it's just seasonal. I'm not sure.
I will take him to the vet but I thought I would ask to see whether anyone could suggest what might be wrong as there's no point putting him through going to the vet if it's likely to be normal!
EDIT:
There is no way for you to tell if there's anything wrong with his feces. A trained veterinary technician needs to look at in under a microscrope. They will know what they are looking for. Most of the time, you will not see any adult worms, the only way to tell is to try to see the eggs under a microscope.
As others have said, it could be worms. You could check for "rice grain" looking stuff, this would be tapeworms. But, the easiest way to find out is to take in a sample of his fecal matter (poop) and the technicians at the vet clinic will look at it under a microscope to see if there are any eggs.
And, it could also be a thyroid problem. Often an animal will get an increase in appetite with a decrease in weight, or with the weight staying the same. Since there are no other symptoms, you would be catching this early on so there would be a good chance of being able to fix it. But, don't simply wait to see if it gets better.
Any time you have a problem with your animal, you should at least call your vet. They can give you the best advice on whether or not the behavior is normal, and it won't cost you anything just for a phone call.

Hey iam 17 years old and i just got a puppy for my b-day last week and he cries every night and my mom just had to go and put his cage outside my bedroom window and her cries are so loud that it keeps me up at night and I practically fall asleep in school what should I do?
Try a few things. First off... bring his cage inside!.
He's only a puppy and needs to be near people. I would continue to keep him in his cage to try and crate train him, but you need to bring his cage/crate inside and in your room. It's hard at first, but eventually he will start to see his crate as a place to sleep.
Secondly, try to tire him out at night by playing with him a lot before putting him in his crate. After playing with him, take him outside to go to the bathroom then bring him in and put him in his crate to sleep. Make sure it's comfortable for him with plenty of cushion. Use towels since puppies inevitably have accidents.. towels are easier to clean than blankets.
When he cries a lot, try draping a towel or blanket over his crate so that it's dark. this wil encourage him to go to sleep.
You should use this crate for his house training as well. Search for "crate training puppies" on google to find more info.
Read my answer to this question:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=427990
about crate training and other stuff.
"Here's what you need to do to house train a puppy. Get a large crate, kind of like those airline dog crates. Don't get one that he fits nice in now, get him one that he fits nice in in about six months. So, in your case, you will have to get one quite large.
Here's how you crate train a dog. When you are not able to have your complete attention on the dog, then he should ideally be in the crate. When he is in the crate, he should not be in for longer than 4 or 5 hours. This will either cause him to have messes in the crate, which will make him messier in nature. Or it will cause him to forcibly hold his bladder and he will get a urinary tract infection.
When he is outside of his crate:
When you see him starting to look for a place to go to the bathroom, take him outside. When he gets up from sleeping, take him outside. When he gets done eating, take him outside. If it's been a couple of hours since he's gone to the bathroom, take him outside.
When you take him outside:
DO NOT take him for long walks. This will only make him think that outside time is for walk time, not for bathroom time. Take him outside for up to ten minutes, and no longer. And do not let him play or walk around. Find a designated area outside close to your door, where he can go each time you take him outside. If, after ten minutes he has not gone to the bathroom, then bring him back inside. When you bring him inside and he hasn't gone outside, then remember that he still needs to go to the bathroom and take him outside in less than a half hour and do the same thing.
If he goes to the bathroom outside:
When he goes to the bathroom outside, then say "good boy" and give him a treat. And then take him inside.
When he goes to the bathroom inside:
Sternly say no, or bad, or whatever else you say to scold him, and maybe give him a light tap on the nose, and then take him out immediately. Don't let him wait until you clean up the mess, take him outside for a few minutes, and then come in and clean up the mess. I know it sucks, and it's harsh on the carpets, but it's better to get him outside so that he associates going pee or poo with being outside. This will be much better on the carpets in the long run.
Now, here's a normal schedule.
When he wakes up: take him out of the crate and go outside for ten minutes. If he doesn't go to the bathroom, bring him inside and feed him. When he gets done eating, take him outside for ten minutes. If he doesn't go then being him inside.
Keep bringing him outside until he goes to the bathroom. Hopefully this happens before you have to leave for work/school if you have it. When you do leave the house. Put him in his crate. This shouldnt' be longer than 4 or 5 hours so he doesn't make a mess in his crate.
When you get home, take him out of his crate and bring him outside for ten minutes, etc, etc, etc.
At night time, when it is time for him to go to bed, put him in his crate. He will bark and wine and not like it at first, but trust me, it will end up being like a home to him. You may have a couple of restless nights at first, but again, in the long run, it will be very very worth it.
I may not have covered everything, so, if you have any more questions, simply ask and I will get back as soon as possible.
Now for him being hyper when people come over.
This doesn't mean that he has add or adhd, this just means that he is more social and likes people more than his sister.
One thing you can do is something that I described in the question that I answered right before this one. You should make him sit for EVERYTHING. This means, sit before he get's pet, before he gets food, before he gets treats, before he gets a door opened for him to go in or out.
Make sure the people that come over know this also. When someone wants to pet him, make him sit first. If he doesn't sit, then ignore him and wait 30 seconds. If he doesn't sit again wait 30 seconds and if he doesn't sit a third time, then give him a minute time out and then try again. Do this for everything, when you go to feed him, let him out of cage, and everything that he enjoys. This is the "nothing in life is free" kind of training, and it will work very well.
With the jumping... every time he jumps, turn your back to him and ignore him. When he stops jumping, turn around and pet him. Dogs jump to get more attention, and when they get ignored for jumping, then they will stop jumping.
You can try to have your neice help with this also, tell her to turn aroud, hopefully facing a wall. Tell everyone that comes into your house to do this and it will work like wonders.
About his nails. You can get then cut short. But, remember, after they are clipped they will be jagged for a few days and may hurt even more than normal, but in the long run it will be much safer for your neice and everyone else. If you don't know how to or you don't feel comfortalbe doing it, most vets will only charge ten dollars to bring an animal in to get their nails clipped.
Hope this helps and I wish you good luck with your puppy"

will aloe hurt my sunburn that i already peeled? also, i peeled a part off, and it now has a little cut there, not bleeding or anything, just a little cut, is that normal? THANKS!
The aloe will make your sunburn feel better.
And the "cut" that you see is from dry skin.
I would try baby oil. That's what I put on my burns. It moisturizes then and makes it so that they don't peel as much. Don't use lotion, because that will tighten your skin and make it very very painful with a sunburn. But use oil.

I don't know if your from the United States or not, since you didn't mention. But, I do know that in the United States, the profession is called Veterinary Technition. Veterinary Technitions can help out with many kinds of practices to just surgery's, or radiography, to working in the laboratory, or they can just work at a small animal clinic and do everything. In order to help a veterinary surgeon, you would usually need to get specialized in the field of veteriary surgery.
They have specific courses for a veterinary technition. Ask a guidance councelor or search online for a college with a veterinary technology degree. Or, if they are called veterinary nurses where your from, then search for a college with a veterinary nurse degree.
I don't think they would even offer veterinary nurse classes at a strickly veterinarian college.
