My favourite quote is 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'.
Life really is a roller-coaster with it's ups and downs and varying speeds. Yet no matter how hard you try to stay on an even keel, something always comes along to kick you in the teeth and remind you just how fragile life is. We are all trying to live the best we know how and to get along together. So take time to appreciate those around you and tell them how much you love them occasionally. A smile and a kind word speaks volumes.

Has anyone here had any involvement with SETI@home, ie the Search for Extra Terrestrial Inteligence's D.I.Y. package (for want of a better term).
And if not, what are people's opinions on someone who would take such an idea seriously?
Solid science, or kookiness?
Thanks. (link)

If someone can prove positive that there are other inhabited planets I think it would be great. I also think it is great that there are people who are willing to spend time investigating E.T.s. Good luck to them.

Theres this guy in the hall that whenever we pass each other he jsut says "dorey" and keeps walking, cause thats my last name. and also "hey dorey" lol. I wanna know what I can say or do when I pass him besides saying HIS last name. Any creative/ funny people have any ideas? (link)
|
How about saying "Nemo" as in the film 'Finding Nemo'. I am sure there was a fish in that film called Dorey.
As you are walking past him and he says "Dorey" just reply with "Hey Nemo". Hope this helps a bit.

My question is is it safe to have anal sex with someone who is clean in all senses without a condom? (link)
|
It is not advisable to have anal sex without using a condom because of the very nature of what passes through it. It is obviously personal choice but proceed with caution and make sure the penis is thoroughly washed before insertion into a vagina or for oral sex. Hope this helps.
|
i didnt know whether to put this in injuries or sex, but since it has to do with a certain part of my body, i guess sex?
anyway, i have a vaginal tearing.... it's not really my fault, but it's so embaressing, and i cant bare to tell anyone. i feel dirty and gross, and i dont want anyone to be near that part of my body. (and my gf keeps wanting to have sex, and i keep having to make shit up!)
also, it hurts, and everytime i touch my self down there i get little to no pleasure, i pretty much just feel irritated all over down there. please tell me what i can possibly do?? it's obviously not just going to magically go away, and i'm so sick of feeling this way. what in the heck should i do? (link)

This is something that ought to be seen by a professional. They will have seen this many times before so you do not need to feel embarrassed about it.
They will be able to advise you on treatment and pain management whilst it is healing. Tell your partner the reason why you are unhappy at the moment and ask for their patience and support.
Please see someone very soon and you will then be able to get back to normal. All the best.

how do you know when you're about to umm...arrive sexually? is it something obvious? i'm a virgin, so i wouldnt know or not. i just want to be prepared. (link)
|
If you mean "do you know when you are ready to have sex?" then if you ask the question you definitely are not ready.
Everyone reaches that stage in their life at different times so no two people are ever the same.
When you are in a steady relationship and have discussed contraception and STDs etc., then you are on the way there. It is not something you should take lightly either - when you lose your virginity it is not something that you can ever get back.
You need to feel safe, secure, loved, wanted and prepared before going that step further. When you get to the stage of not questioning whether it is the right time/place/boyfriend etc., then you are ready.
I hope that this is of some help to you. All the best.

My mother and I dont get along. & No matter what I do I try soo hard to get along with her but its too hard. I'm 14 and born and raised in America. But she was born in the Philippines so she has a different out look on everything... (link)
|
I think that you need to accept your differences in culture. She is still your Mum so you will still have things in common. You are also at an age where life is generally confusing and there are many people your age without cultural differences that will feel the same.
We all have to go through a period of adjustment when we move from childhood to young adulthood. You may find that as you getting older things will settle down and you will begin to get along better with her.
It is not unusual for this to occur when you hit your mid-teens and you should not worry too much about it. At the moment you will have to accept her rules and the way she runs her home, but before you know it, you will be able to run your own home and life the way you want it to be.
I wish you all the best and hope I have managed to help you a bit.

I am so sorry to hear that you have been through such an awful ordeal at a very young age.
Please seek professional advice from a doctor because the chances are you have an infection. You also need to be checked for physical damage and for any diseases.
Please tell your mum and ask her to call the police because these animals should not get away with this. If you feel you can't tell your mum please tell a teacher you trust or another adult. You will receive all the professional help, such as counselling, which you will need to get over this.
Don't try to deal with this yourself even if you feel capable of doing so. I wish you all the very best and if I can help you any further please let me know.

My bf has one wart on his hand, the only wart he's ever had. If I hold his hand and make physical contact with the wart..can I get the virus that causes warts and then start getting it as well? Also, if he fingers me (using either the hand with the wart or the hand without the wart) can I get warts and more specifically, genital warts??
If he gets it freezed off can I still get warts??
I'm so freaked out. How can you possibly date people at this rate. (link)
|
Warts are caused by the papilloma virus and can be passed on through contact. If you google the word wart there are many sites which will give you good advice.
It is not advisable for someone who has a wart to use that hand/finger on the sexual organs.
They can be gotten rid of quite easily using something like Bazuka or having it frozen off at the doctors surgery.
Hope this information helps.

I was just wondering after you have sex and the guy finishes in you do you have to take a shower? (link)
|
If you feel like taking a shower then go ahead. Your guy might find it a turn on as well if he gets invited in!
It really depends on how you are feeling - some people may like to have a quick wipe, others a wash, maybe a bath or a shower.
Everyone has to make up their own mind on this one. All the best.

I'm the same person who put up the last advice question on how to deal with the masturbation rumor going around grad school. The truth is my reputation is so severely damaged that everyday, approximately two or three times a day, I have to hear, "C said she was masturbating in the library." This really bothers me because the rumor has gone on for almost a year now, and the majority of people I know actually believe the (false) rumor because it comes down to a she-said, she-said thing, and this woman, C, has been spreading it around to so many people while I just completely ignored the rumor, acted like I didn't hear anything, and just completely ignored it when some girls said mean things to me--Two women, both grad students, actually shouted out "Stop masturbating!" while I was walking and passed them by.
In all seriousness, I think their behavior is childish and moreover, it has completely damaged my reputation at school. The rumor is so embarassing that I only told a few of my non-school friends about the rumor, and everyone told me to just ignore it.
But after ignoring it for a year, the rumor died down and then started escalating again during hte summer, and now it's gotten to the point where I can't go anywhere in public around campus without running into a school person whom I overhear saying "C saw her masturbating in the library."
My friends from college said that they don't have any advice for me other than ignoring the rumor. But that hasn't worked, and in fact, for some reason, after ignoring it for months, it's gotten to the point where people just openly talk about it within earshot of me: "She's crazy. She was masturbating in a public place? Who told me that? C__." Anyhow, I'm thinking about getting a therapist to specifically discuss this issue and how to handle this.
Being one of a few non-affluent,non-cool people in an academic program before, I have run into bullies before, but not like this. This rumor has gone on so long, and people really do belive it. One girl was with her parents on the subway while I was riding from campus to my apt., and I heard her telling her parents "That's the psycho that was masturbating in the library." And her parents literally shook their hands and said, "God help her." It's really frustrating to me that a)teh majority of people believe it is true, when it's not and b)that strangers, people i have never even met or spoken to, will automatically label me as "the girl who was masturbating in the library," just because C_ said i was. i have kept quiet for a long time, and I was thinking about just confronting her and asking her to stop. But, my friends think that's a bad idea because that'll just rile her up even more and cause her to create a new rumor about me--I actually was working out in the gym one day, and overheard the girl telling another girl, "Let's tell everyone that she is lesbian too because she is giving us the eye." I was giving her the eye because I'm mad at what she did, and wanted to let her know that I knew. But if I do that, I'll probably just incite her to further damage my reputation. It may not seem possible at this point, but she could allege something even worse if I confront her and ask her politely to stop, like I was flashing her and then urinated on her or something. (link)
|
I can only suggest that you start libel prosecution against the rumour-monger. Perhaps a letter from a solicitor would finally shut the talking up. Ask to see the most senior person where you are studying and explain what is happening and you are considering taking legal action. Defammatory remarks are against the law and perhaps the threat of being sued might help too.
Please don't do anything against the other girl because she could then counter-react with libel action.
Finally, depending on how desperate you are, how about taking out a small ad in the local newspaper/campus newsletter explaining how hurt you are by all of these alleged rumours and you need it to stop now. Point out that they are totally false and legal action will be taking.
I wish you good luck and hope it all finally goes away.

I'm 16 and i lost my virginity to my boyfriend of 3yrs. it was just 3 days ago. we didn't use protection i'm worried i could be pregnant. i wouldn't have done it if i didn't love him. but his phones been cut off. He has a cell phone but hasn't called or anything. Should i be worried or relax?
WHAT SHOULD I DO???
(link)
|
I know it can be a very worrying time for you but you really need to do some very serious thinking now.
Firstly, go to planned parenthood and get some help and advice. Once you have established whether or not you are pregnant then you can re-think what you are going to do next.
A) If you are pregnant you need to decided whether or not you intend to keep the baby.
B) If you are not pregnant you must takes steps to ensure it never happens again like that. Make sure you always have a condom handy and go on the pill. That will give you double protection.
C) Your boyfriend appears to be out of contact so why not visit him at home. Tell him what you intend to do and ask him to go with you. He needs to be aware of the consequnces of his actions and to be with you whilst you attend planned parenthood.
I hope for both your sakes that the test is negative. Don't have sex again until you are fully protected. I wish you all the very best.

I have pain or burning in the tailbone area. I don't remember injuring it in any way. It just started slowly. When I press on the tailbone it is alittle sore. How can I treat it myself. No pain when walking or laying down. I don't know how I got it. If I sit up straight in a chair it feels fine. Just when I lean back.
Thankyou for any advice.
I am about 75 with heart disease. I am a male and alittle overweight. Six ft. tall and 225 lbs. (link)
|
You really need to go and have a chat with your Doctor. He can then examine you and explain how you can deal with the pain. It is always better to seek professional advice when your health and wellbeing are at risk. I wish you all the best.

I'm not sure if this goes here... but oh well
I need help falling asleep. i always try to fall asleep but end up falling asleep at like 2 am!! Now that schools starting, I would like to sleep. lol. Can somebody give me advice on how to relax and fall asleep for school? Please help and thanks a lot! (link)
|
I find that deep, even breathing and/or meditating at bedtime can have a positive effect. Having a warm bath, a hot drink of milk and lavender under the pillow can also be beneficial.
If you find that your mind is going over things you should have done or should be doing, writing them down will help clear your mind too.
If you lay there worrying about falling asleep this will have the opposite effect so try to clear your mind of negative energy.
Hope this helps. All the best.

How do you get fluid out of your knee if you know it is fluid? (link)
|
I really think that you should have a professional look at your knee if you suspect there is fluid in it.
The fluid is usually withdrawn through a syringe and should only be done by someone who knows what they are doing.
All the best.

Is it true we can make $1000 per day from the follwing web site ?
http://dataentrybank.com/
Any body earning money from this?
Any body earning money from INDIA?
How much this true?
Please tell me
Thank you
(link)
|
Usually if it sounds too good to be true then generally it is.
I honestly do not know anyone who has made money on any such web sight. I would urge caution all the way on this because usually you will end up out of pocket to quite a large sum if it turns out to be a scam.
It may seem like an easy way to make money but that is what will suck gullible people into investing a small sum for large return that will never come.

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for a while now (10 months) were ready to take it to the next level (sex) I am a virgin and i am young, and havent really experienced much and i've heard you have to be shaved, i'm not familiar with it so i was wondering if someone could give me a few tips on how to shave.
thanks. (link)
|
I agree with sassysara about shaving being a personal choice. Don't do it unless you really want to and not because you think you should.
Could I add on a cautionary note, please use double protection when embarking on a sexual relationship. A condom will protect you from diseases and pregnancy and if used in conjunction with the pill then you should be doubly protected against pregnancy. All the best.
|
hey thanks for your advice but i wanna know, what do i say to my boyfriend? about the sex thing (link)
|
Tell him the truth that you have recently had doubts about going ahead with having sex. Tell him you need more time to consider the implications of taking such a huge step. Reassure him that you still find him very attractive but you are not so sure of taking the next step just yet.
If he is genuinely in love with you he will respect your wishes. He will want to make sure you feel safe and secure in his love for you.
However, be prepared for the fact that all he really wanted to do was get another notch on his bedpost. He may say all the right things and still pressurise you into going to bed with him. If he does that, give him the big elbow. You can do without guys that are just out for what they can get.
I hope that it all works out okay for you and if I can be of any more help please let me know.

I just had sex with my boyfriend of a year and I noticed that pubic hair was falling out.. gross.. I know.. but do I have anything to worry about?
Was I being to rough on his behind?
Please help! (link)

Pubic hair falls out naturally anyway so there is nothing to worry about. As for being too rough - he may have enjoyed it - ask him. All the best.
