coccyx pain when sitting.

Question Posted Monday September 4 2006, 9:31 pm

I have pain or burning in the tailbone area. I don't remember injuring it in any way. It just started slowly. When I press on the tailbone it is alittle sore. How can I treat it myself. No pain when walking or laying down. I don't know how I got it. If I sit up straight in a chair it feels fine. Just when I lean back.

Thankyou for any advice.

I am about 75 with heart disease. I am a male and alittle overweight. Six ft. tall and 225 lbs.

You really need to go and have a chat with your Doctor. He can then examine you and explain how you can deal with the pain. It is always better to seek professional advice when your health and wellbeing are at risk. I wish you all the best.

There probably isn't a lot you can do on your own since you don't know what the cause of the pain is.

Talk to your doctor about it and he/she will let you know exactly what you need to do to make it stop hurting you. :)
