Q: My friends and I were having a discussion in my AP US Government class because our teacher was absent and we were bored. Anyway, one girl was telling me how, if you're not legally certified and you were to, for example, give someone CPR or the heimlich maneuver, even if you save their life, they can sue you...
She said once she was lifeguarding at a club and somehow a pingpong table fell over on a young girl and the parents wanted to sue for emotional damages or something like that. They club had to settle because their lawyer said the lawsuit could win. I just have 2 questions...

How is it legal that you could sue someone for saving your life just because they weren't certified to do so?
How is it moral to do that? Your life (or child's life) was SAVED, how are you going to morally justify suing someone... are you that cheap and can you possibly want money that much?

I suppose I might understand if someone performed one of those and the person died because (and it should be proved) it was done incorrectly... but come on.

It's not. Your friend clearly knows nothing of the Good Samaritan Law, which protects those people who try to help out in the case of an emergency when someone else's life is on the line. It is intended to increase the involvement of those who are afraid to give help for fear of worsenning the situation. In other countries this law requires bystanders to assist, unless doing so would endanger themselves. Same as voting in the US, a responsibility, not a requirement. The bystanders do, however, need the consent of the one in danger to proceed, but there's implied consent if that person is unconscious.

Q: hey well ican drive and i have a car but i dont have a lisence and i hate reading and i have to read the drivers handbook to pass a test on the computer....and did i mention i can drive really well..... well see the problem is i took the test 3 times already and i havnt passed now i hate reading but should i just read the handbook or is there an easier studying method....????

Reading is an important part of driving, given the roadsigns, maps, paperwork for your car, tickets, highway information, etc. If you have a problem with it, maybe you should reevaluate wanting to drive at this point in your life...the written test is the easiest element of driving. I hope it won't take a bad experience for you to realize the seriousness of driving, and that there's a whole lot more than thinking you "drive really well"...

Oh yeah, advice. Take driver's ed. A monkey could pass the test after it. Not only that, driver's ed is soo, so important. Would you feel comfortable driving on the road knowing there were others on it without enough knowledge to pass an elementary driving test? I don't think so. And reading the handbook is not usually necessary...actually in your case, it could help.

I didn't really want to answer this question, I just wanted to let you know that the answer below is not an example of satire. Which I also do not feel like defining. But a great example is George Orwell's Animal Farm. Great great great. Writing is personal, let it be your idea, get inspiration from current events etc.

I'm sorry, no one on this site can answer that question for you. Get a test. And for you to be "feeling movement" is nothing more than paranoia, for the fetus (which you likely do not carry) only starts developing several months into the pregnancy. The movement you are feeling is your flow.

i play middle blocker on my club team. does anyone know what are the different kinds of middle blocker hits and how do you hit them? i only know the "1" and "2" but i dont fully understand the "1". ive also heard of "back 2" and "51" and "8".

You should ask your coach--there's no way he/she wouldn't know. I play middle blocker, too, and the lingo we use for my hits are quicks, 3s, slides, back-1s (quicks behind), back rows, and roll shots. Obviously, there's a lot to be said about each of those, in terms of timing, placement, etc.

Q: What is a convection zone...there wasnt any category for thst so i just picked plants and garden....so what is a convection zone in a sun?

A good example of a convection zone is a greenhouse. It's a closed place where heat enters and does not escape, it rather rises to the top and is replaced by cool air underneath, which is then warmed and rises, creating a circular current of air flow. Same deal as convectional ovens.

I wouldn't hold anything from over a month ago against him. Feelings change. If you are unsure, lay out your feelings for him in exchange for his honest feelings about your friend, and move from there. Then the two of you can decide the status of your relationship. xoxo

Q: in the morning when i do my makeup and get ready for school etc. my face looks completly fine, but when i get home from school my face is always so red! most red parts are my nose (i dont have a cold) and my cheeks, the wierd thing is that my cheeks and rest of my face are red but then the circles under my eyes stay like normal colour so it looks kinda gimped...im not blushing or anything, and im pretty sure im not sick...so any suggestions on how to cover this? ive already tried coverup it doesnt cover it..

Hmm, it sounds to me like the make up you are using is the problem. Maybe the color of your foundation is too dark, and when you put it on it looks okay fresh because it is still moist, but when it dries, it darkens out, leaving you looking red? That, or your skin is irritated by the make up, which can be the case even without giving you bumps or any sort of itching problem. You might also have a skin condition called rosasia, which is simply when your skin appears red. I suggest seeing a dermatologist. xoxo

Not that I am an expert on the male anatomy, but a male friend of mine once explained that the clear liquid that comes out is "pre-cum." Elements are stable (unless radioactive), and for atoms to be ions, they must gain or lose electrons. Ions are found in compounds as positively and negatively charged atoms of different elements, and they combine to stabilize, forming the compounds. Global warming isn't something to be "believed in" or attributed to God. It is the real and present situation in which humans are negatively impacting the environment and our ecosystem with the "greenhouse" gases/ air pollution we are putting into the atmosphere. The "greenhouse effect" caused by the gases disallowing the solar energy to escape from the atmosphere, creating a sortof convectional oven similar to a greenhouse (hence the name). It's a science thing, not a religious one. For a better scientific explanation, check wikipedia. Will the world be destroyed? That's too simple a question. Our climate is obviously changing because of the way we live. The changing climate will alter natural habitats-- take, for example, the polar bears of the arctic pole, whose home is melting away every day. It is real, ane it's too bad the big man on the hill won't admit it.

Oooh, definitely heat. Heat relaxes muscles, whereas ice numbs pain from an injury. Ice on sore muscles will further the problem.

I would not shower and go to sleep with wet hair, as it will very shortly turn warm and overheat you even more. I slept in a very hot dorm room a few times, and the trick is to buy a large bag of ice, rest pieces of it on your body and lie still and relax. Ice-upuncture, if you will. Keep replacing melted cubes until you are asleep. Very affective.
