Technically it is a sin. It's a sin to "lust" and masturbation is lust. However, that is just what the bible says. It's better to masturbate then to run off and have sex and end up pregnant at an early age.

it is bad yes...its not good towards god but he still eants you to come to him with a full heart and praise him but We are human we make mistakes he wants you to live for him but you have to see that its not easy with the path you want to take like that preacher on the news he was drunk and drove threw a resturant and hes a man of god but look hes human and he messes up sometimes its the same with everyone else you just have to be truley sorry for it and keep praising god thats all i can say

In all reality what person does not maturbate? Really, I'm pretty sure your not going to go to hell for doing it. I dont think you should be stressed out about the little things in life.

From the religious stand point it is. Because like it has been said before me, it is a sin to do lustful things before marriage.

From the Christian belief, I cannot judge, but I would be willing to guess that one would be forgiven the sin of self love...
Personally, I just don't see how it could be realistically considered a sin. And I'm a Christian.

masturbation is a sin.
this is because 99.9% of masturbation is based on lust.. and lust is also a sin.
this is a big debate and i don't believe asking on a site like this is really gonna get you anywhere..

Well, I'm Catholic, and I'll give that version of masturbation (or what I remember). Basically, masturbation is a sin because you take pleasure from it, and you aren't supposed to like, have sex or get pleasure until you're married... and only then when you're trying to make babies.
I also know that some religions view it as a sin because its wasting sperm, which means killing unmade babies.
