Hey! Im Nicole. This is my second advice column. I really ♥ to give advice. I am rated pretty high here too, even though ive only answered about 260 questions. Ok, there is this one guy that I know likes me. But I don't like him. We are really really good friends. How can I tell him I don't like him without hurting him?

i know a lot of people who are friends with someone that likes them. and its completely normal. just let the guy know he's a really good friend to you, but nothing more. but that you cherish his friendship & dont mean to hurt him. & that you hope it wont effect your great friendship you have. but after that, it should be completely fine. good luck.

I noticed how people bribe in their questions, as in "I'll rate a 5 if you answer". Isn't advicenators supposed to be about HELPING? What happened to the world?

i think it's just because people want others to answer, really badly. like they want people to help them yeah know? so they say "i'll rate 5" because people want higher ratings. so they answer. && everyone's happy! so yeah, some people bribe, && i dont think it even matters much. but yeah i noticed that too && im not even sure many people care. hope i helped, kind of.

ok i have this boyfriend his name is greg.. well he went on vacation with his family 2 puerto rico.. while he was gone i met this other guy ricky. ricky is rele sweet nd charming and we slept with each other at least 5 times. i dunno .. i don't feel the same with greg as i do with ricky.. ricky is wayy better in bed.. i ain't a slut or nothin.. well maybe i am but seriously what should i do? I've been saving up to get an iPod. My mom says that if I can get $100 She'll buy me a 60GB iPod.

But I also kinda want a cell phone.

I know that the cell phone will in time cost more, but I'm not sure which one I want more. I really want an iPod, and I have the possibility, because I have $71 out of $100 for it.

But I really want a cell phone too.

I'm so...stuck.

well, id say get both. but id get the ipod first, because, then you dont have a monthly payment, like cellfones (you could get a prepaid fone tho) but anyways. maybe you should get a job, so you could save up for both, (babysitting, extra chores, etc)

Ok so, my crush asked me out last night so of course I said yes. I'm new to the whole dating experience, im only 14. I like him a lot, but whenever the thought of going to the movies or something comes up, I automatically make up an excuse to not go. I don't know why. I'm very co-dependant and I would be too scared to go anywhere unless it was a double date or something. He says hes okay with that but I dont know whats wrong with me. I think my main fear is making out. Yea yea laugh, but I guess im just scared to do it. I dont know whats wrong with me and why im so scared to go anywhere with him. I'll rate you high. Thx a bunch

well he's your boyfriend, and you need to learn not to be scared with him, right? soo i think that you need to force yourself to not say no, when people ask you out. try to be less shy. dont worry about the making out. just tell your boyfriend wat you told us. he'll understand - unless hes a jerk. && you could start out going on group dates, but eventually you will have to do single dates. i think its pretty normal tho. just try to be calm, dont worry about it. dont think about making out. but make it clear to him, your not ready on your first date. okay? good luck.

My mother has been getting on my nerves since i was 7 years old. She judges me, yells at me, swears at me, makes fun of me, and flat out makes me sick. I even started to cut myself because of her, but i eventually stopped after 1 year because my friends helped me out. But i cannot take it anymore. My dad & I are bestfriends, i tell him everything, but i dont tell him about my mother. Just because i dont want them to split up or anything. What can i do to make my mom shutup? Plus, i have many brothers, she loves them, talks to them, hugs them, and compliments them. Its just plain sick. Im sick of her act shes pulling agaisnt her ONLY DAUGHTER. Sometimes i do NOTHING and she says, oh god i wish i had another son. I havent told anyone about this, but all my friends know how she is, and i have always hated her. I see all my close friends spending time with thier moms and having close relationships. I run to my friends house to get away sometimes or just sit outside. Even this past mother's day i bought her a card & flowers, she threw the flowers away. What should i do?

oh my goodness. okay. well you def need to talk to someone! if you cant talk to your mom, maybe a councelor? or your dad? i dont think you should hide this from your dad, even if they do split or whatever. gosh, i feel really bad for you, cos i know that must suck. you need to talk to your mom too, as hard as it may be, you need to have a "calm" talk with her. tell her how you feel. if that doesnt work, then i dont know what you can do. good luck hun!

I'm 17/f and ive never had a bf. Everytime i like some guy, and he ends up liking me back..I get really uncomfortable and scared away. I dont do it on purpose, it just happens everytime. What could be the reason Im subconciously doing this?

just try your best to be more outgoing & less shy. just force your self to not get scared away. take a risk. you can usually outgrow shyness, if you really try to. so just try your best not to feel as uncomfortable, just start a simple convo instead of being scared away.

okay so theres this guy that goes to a different school. hes best friends with a lot of my close girl friends but ive only met him about 4 times. i talk to him online all the time and just recently he started liking me. he asked me to go ice skating with him and i accepted. now i'm scared of rushing things too fast and i always have. i'm scared to hold a guys hand and i dont know what to do if he tries to kiss me. please help! thats perfectly fine. if you dont want to rush things, then thats great. just tell him that && most likely he'll respect you for it. if he doesnt, hes a jerk. just go ahead and take it slow. your still young, dont feel pressured to do all those things. =) hope i helped.

is there any way you can determine when you have your period when youve had it for a year?

you can kind of, like around a month is when youd get your next period. but it wont be exact for like a few years. so, it may come early one month, late another month. but you should be able to tell around wen its gunna be there.

er... well. here goes.

theres a guy I like. He goes to my school. Is in my grade, two of my classes, ect. ect.

I talk to him on AIM, we kinda talk at school, and best of all, he doesn't think I'm fat. (long story. Let's just say I wasn't eating anything and my friends are odd)

But, he knows I like him, and doesn't like me back. He's told me multiple times. (again, my friends are odd) But lately, he's been acting like I'm okay. Usually he acts like he hates me. He even IMed me first on AIM (I know its odd, but hey, I guess I blend in with my friends) which is like, a first. Ever. We've been able to talk more, and we're getting along pretty well.

The bad side is, well, I've liked him for so long, now that he's finally maybe liking me, I don't feel exactly the same. I'm in this odd stage where, I do and don't like him. I mean, he's hurt me so much, but I feel like I love him. I can't control my feelings.

So what I want to know is:
Do you think he likes me?
What should I do if he asks me out?
and
Should I take action?(ME asking him out)

I have NO idea what to do.

i dont know if he likes you, because maybe he's just acting that way because he thinks of you as a good friend now. but maybe he does like you. just dont jump to conclusions too fast that he might like you. if you do like him, and he asks you out, go for it. dont ask him out. if he likes you, let HIM do it. oh & also if he has already hurt you maybe you should just move on? since it seems your already half there! good luck!

nobody has moved away from me, but i think it would suck so much. all you can really do, is try your best to stay in contact with them. call eachother if you can, the computer (AIM), emailing, letters, occasionally visit eachother. stuff like that, yah know? you could plan that you visit him sometime, and then in a few monthes, he visits you. or something like that. just stay friends, most importantly. =) hope that helped! goodnight.

There's this one guy & him & I are pretty good friends. I like him as more than a friend & he feels the same way about me... i think. He told me he was considering asking me out. It didn't sound like a for-sure thing though. Basically, he didn't jus come out & admit his feelings, he said he doesn't know. I want him to ask me out but I'm not sure what to do. i really like him and i cant stop thinkin about him. i dream about him everynight and sometimes i call him under private number just so i can hear his voice. his best friend and me went out for 2 months, and i thought i loved him but then he cheated on me. josh wouldnt tell me that he cheated, but his best friend (anton) told me. and to tell me a secret that his best friend told him NOT to tell me, but to tell me anyways, i thought that was sweet. i dont know what to do. i dont even know if he likes me or not. if you dont think i should go out wtih him, how do i get over him? and if i might should take a chance, what should i do to get him?

hello again! thats so cute..., you really like him. well, i do think you should go for it, but be catious like i said. dont expect him not to cheat on you. if he does cheat, end it. and get over him & move on to the next guy. what should you do to get him? try telling him you like him. (dont tell him you dream about him, might freak him out) and he seems like he might like you already. just be yourself, dont like flirt too much, but show that your into him. and if you do what to get over him, it does take time (dont expect it to happen over night). you kind of need to find a new guy to like (maybe someone who doesn't cheat, and you can trust). or for me, it even helps to obsess over a famous guy. it just replaces him with a celebrity && instead of thinking of the guy u like right now, think of the hot celeb. lol, seriously it works. sounds pretty silly, im sure. so what else you can do is listen to music, stay distracted - keep busy, hang out with your girl-friends. eventually, you will hopefully move on. so there you go. hope i helped.

sorry this is so long but i am really confused and i would love for any advise from anyone!

ok here is goes. me adn my ex boyfriend (josh) we out all last summer and he cheated on me so we broke up and havent talked since. well the other day i was on the phone with his best friend (anton) and josh was over there so me adn josh talked and we are cool now. well i like anton but anton is a huge player. he has cheated on almost every girl he has went out with. he is also not a virgin .. me i havent even tounge kissed a guy before. well anton told me that he is actually ready to get into a serious relationship with a girl. i really wanna be that girl, but im so scared for anyone to know that i likw him. im scared he is gonna cheat on me or hurt me just like josh. me adn anton dont talk alot adn we dont know each other really good. i really like him and i dont know what to do. i even dream about him at night. can anyone please give me some advise on what to do?? thanks if you do!!

hmm, well its up to you. if your willing to take a risk, then go for it. i personally think if you really like him, to go for it. sometimes you gotta take risks. but also, to be very cautious (however you spell it). well, maybe it isnt a good idea, considering that isnt a virgin & he cheats. maybe you should try going for a trustworthy guy, that you do talk to a lot. but if you really like anton guy, then... just try it. but becareful!
