A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

ok, how do i lose weight without my family noticing that im trying to shed a few pounds?

Why are you trying to hide your weight loss from your family? Are they that unsupportive, or are already a healthy weight and do not want to admit to having an eating disorder?

If you tell your family about wanting to lose weight and imporve your health, they'll likely be supportive.

Besides, they're your family. They're gonna notice if you lose weight; they know everything about you.

EDIT: So? You don't have to be like them. Eat until you're full. They shouldn't make you overeat. Don't use your family as an excuse; you can change yourself.

im going to get acutane for my acne but my dermatologist said that there may be serious side effects.

has anyone had any experience with acutane or know anything about it?

Accutane is basically a huuuuge dose of vitamin E. The high levels can (very rarely) have serious side effects like liver damage. More likely are the mental effects it can have, such as depression, moodiness, and suicidal thoughts and/or actions. Monthly blood tests are required by the FDA (to make sure you're not building up toxic levels of vitamin E or anything) and your behavior will likely be monitored closely.

Also, if you're a female, you are required to have two pregnancy tests and go on birth control before the doctor even writes a prescription. Plus you have to use two other forms of contraception. This stuff is VERY damaging to a developing baby, and if you do get pregnant while on it, you're strongly advised to have an abortion because the risk of birth defects is so high. That last part is extreme, but it's something to keep in mind (I don't know your age, or gender, for that matter)

If you're considering Accutane, also keep in mind that acne is often caused by out-of-control hormone fluctuations. And guess what birth control alone does? It regulates your hormones! So before you take Accutane, I suggest asking your dermatologist (I'm assuming you have one if youre asking about Accutane) or your doctor about birth control, to see if that'll be enought to solve your problem. (It usually is for most people)

The side effects I've mentioned above are VERY rare. You're only on the medication for twenty weeks, and it cures your acne permanently. If you have severe acne and absolutely NOTHING else works (Proactiv, doxycycline, cephalexen, clindamycin, Retn-A, Differin, Benza-Clin.. there's a lot of options out there) it's probably worth trying. Just make sure that your close friends and family know that you're taking it (they'll be the first to notice significant changes in your mood/personality)

Sorry I went kind of overboard here.. I just wanted to tell you every thing I knew about this subject. I've been through it, and it stinks :)

On my myspace, it will only let me upload 16 pictures. But on some of my friend's pages, they have over 20!
Can anyone explain why this is, and how I can get that many pictures (if possible)?

If you bought MySpace Records Volume One before March31, you could have four extra pictures.

Also they could have a picture as their caption for another picture. It's very easy to do; you just upload your pic using tinypic.com then pu the IMG code as your caption.

okay, well i have these pair of abercrombie khaki(sp?) colored capri pants that were in the back of my closet. i just got done cleaning my closet out today and i found the capri pants, my absolute favorite pair! but there was one major problem--- on the back a little lower than the butt pocket was a dot of purple marker! no, not a little dot, and not a hugeee or big one. just kinda in between. well i basically tried EVERYTHING to get it out. bleach, that didn't work.(it didn't change the capris to white, though, thank God!) i also used this Zout stuff. it works really good on my other clothes, just not on this specific pair. omg, someone, please help me! im basically DESPERATE lol. please don't say anything like "throw the pants out" or anything like that. any ideas on getting it out will be MUCH appriciated! thank you sooooooo much! (good answer= good rating!) ;)

Try Oxy Clean. It's the best stain remover I;ve ever used. Also try soaking the pants in color-safe bleach for awhile.

I've also heard the vinegar gets rid of stains; its worth a shot. (The smell washes out with soap)

And keep in mind that anyone who notices this stain will probably be staring at your butt for quite awhile, if it's small. (The stain, not your butt =P)

You could always take the pants to the cleaners; it'd be a lot less expensive than replacing the pants and they're experts at stains.

Where do they sell monkey bread?

Check the bakery of your local supermarket.
I've seen them around holidays.
Also, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc might have them as a regular item.

Honestly, it's easier to make it yourself. It'll taste better too.

alright, now you know how sometimes you can download music from myspaces? well, i did so and i saved them into a folder and everything, and i dragged them into my iTUNES, and then whenever i plug my ipod in to update it, it won't come up on the ipod. does anybody know why? or if they do it, how do you guys do it? help!

I add the file to my library form the "File" menu. It converts into MPEG format and goes right onto my iPod, no problem.

Try right clicking and "Convert Selection to ___" (it'll be on the menu that shows up) and the songs should work.

i was a cutter for about a year then i stoped for 8 monthes i got back into and now i cant seem to stop my mom dose not know nor dose my boy friend what do i do so i can stop for good and not get it back in my lilfe

You need to figure out what's making you cut yourself. There's always a reason; don't kid yourself and say there isn't.

If youre not comfortable telling your mom yet, talk to your boyfriend. Show him your scars; he'll want ot help you and be supportive. When you're ready, he can help you tell your mom. YOu should be getting help for this. Even one or two sessions of therapy (or maybe talking to your boyfriend would be enough, knowing that someone else cares)

There's plenty of resources available to you- and two you've already mentioned; your mother and boyfriend. Two people who really care about you.

my hair is brown, not dark, but not exactly light either. i've never highlighted it or dyed it before, and i really want to. well, highlights. i wanna get at least 2 colors, but i'm not sure which ones would look best. i have fair/beige skin, i'm not that tan.

If you're getting it done at a salon, your stylist will do waht she thinks looks best (like, if you want light brown, she'll give you the most compliemtary shade)

If you're going the DIY route, go with a color that is like your natural color, but a little lighter (if you want it to look natural.

Kepe in mind that red will fade with time (use a color protecting shampoo, and if you really want them to last, wash your hair with bottled water. I personally think this is crazy, and the highlights still look adorable when they wash out to an orangey-reddish brown.)

Best of luck, and remember- if you really hate how it end up looking, they grow out. Or wait about a month and dye your hair back to normal.

It's called Monkey Bread. I love that stuff!!

They sell it at a lot of stores, or you can make it yourself using a sweet bread recipe (or cinnamon bread, something like that) and rolling the dough into little balls before arranging it in the pan.

When the list comes down (under the search bar) highlight each item with your mouse and hit delete.
Then clear your history.

This should hide it form most people who don't know much about your computer. I'm guessing you're hiding this from your parents? Unless they're computer programmers they won't be finding out what you looked at after you clear those two things :]

I had washed some clothes and put them in a laundry basket for a while. Now I see mold on them! Is there anything I can do to get the mold out? Please help, I will thank you so much!!!!

Use OxyClean or Shout.
Then wash them twice,
the second time in the hottest water the clothes can take.
With some extra soap. :]

Hi, I my name is Laura Michelle. (That is the reason why I chose to write to you, but that is off topic.) Anyways, I am 14 and I really like this guy who is giving me tons of mixed signals. I am the first girl he talks to when he gets to school and I am the only one he will actually talk to (he's really quiet). We talk and flirt all the time, both in and out of school. Everyone can tell that there is something going on between us, but he won't ask me out. I don't know what to do!

You should just be friends with this guy for awhile. Since he's shy, you may have to take the initiative and make plans yourself "hey, you wanna come over after school and work on homework?" and find out what he likes (movies, music, books, school, etc).

Once you know what kind of stuff he likes, ask if he wants to see movie with you. If he asks "Would you consider that a date?" you can then say, "well, only if you want it to be". Guys aren't exactly brilliant, but that should be easy enough for him to figure out.

Remember, he's shy. So don't do anything drastic right away, you might scare him off =P

i just made an aim profile for aim using html (or coding), and i can't figure out how to get a thumbnail of it, or a preview of it on my website; like showing what the profile look like before putting in the code. i'm confused, and i'm sorry if i confused you as well. i'm just trying to figure it out. and i think the word for it would be, 'screenshot'. thank you!

well, you could just paste the HTML into a regular AIM profile, maximize the screen,a nd press "print screen" (its usually above insert)

This morning I accidentally washed my Razr. It was submerged for over an hour, and when I took it out there weren't any scratches or anything broken off. But now it won't turn on. Is there any way I can salvage my phone, or will I have to get a new one? And if I do have to get a new phone, can I somehow use my old SIM card or is that destroyed too?

Give it a couple days to dry out. Also, take out the battery an dry the two seperately.

If your phone still doesn't work, try getting a new one. Say yours stopped working and you;d like to at least get the SIM card transferred to a new phone. There's also a way to transfer just the contacts, and that's probly a not cheaper, like $10.

alright,im a guy. 14/m and homecoming is tonight and I don't have a date so im just going alone. I have alot of friends that are going with dates though. Don't worry about it. Talk to your friends; you'll probably all end up hanging out in a group anyways. There'll be girls there that don't have a date either, and you can always dance with them! :]

my digital camera records voice files & i put the memory card into the computer [since idk where the USB to my camera went] & i can't seem to find how to open the voice files. it only has video, misc, & DCIM. can it be done?? or would i be in better luck getting a microphone. any other ways??

under the folder DCIM, all your camera files should be there. Sound files should appear as WMA files (it'll show the little Windows Media Player icon) and probably is named something like DCIM827587.

You should them be able to save the file somewhere else, burn it on a CD, etc.

Most teenagers go trick-or-treating by themselves. I haven't gone with parents for about three years now.

Sure, teens are going to play pranks on people, but most are harmless. As long as your promise not to burn down anything or injure people (and actually follow through with it!!!), there's really no reason why your mom shouldn't trust you. Offer to bring a cellphone and call her every half hour or something :]

You say you already do chores? Do them without any complaining. Already clean the bathroom? CLean the kitchen too without being asked. Little stiff like that. :]
