Q: Every night I walk for about one hour which equals to about 3.67 miles and I burn about 560 calories.

Well I'm pretty tired of walking because it just bores me so what other exercises would be about the same? Meaning burn a lot of calories as much as walking does. I don't have any time to go out and buy thing or lift weight, so anything else?

Thanks.
I would definitely suggest finding an activity that you enjoy, and try committing to it once or twice a week! That way you can alternate it with walking. For instance, I do karate two-three times a week, and it only takes up an hour each time I do it! Plus, I have a TON of fun doing it. Other than that, I'd definitely suggest Pilates or Yoga. Both are very relaxing, and have the added feature of not requiring a lot of time, equipment, or space.

Q: i want to tell this girl that she really upset me about something she said...should i do it online...in person or on the fone?
Well, I find that I can confront someone better online, or even by writing a letter, simply for the reason that if I am confronting them in person or on the phone, I tend to get overly emotional and start yelling, or I'll say something hurtful that I don't mean to say. The plus to online confrontation is that it gives you a chance to think about what you say before you say it :)

Q: hey everyone my name is nikita and iam 15 years old. well my problem is that about a month ago i got punched in they eye for callling a girl skinny and a whore. Now ihave to go to court for that!! and im super scared. ny parents told me not to ever call neone skinny because iam too and they told me not call anyone a bad name at all. well i told them plus the principal i won't do that again. well i kind of did. i called this one girl a bitch because she pointed at me. i don't know what's wrong with me. i fee like abad person because im either callin people bad names or talking about them behind their back. and at home my parents tell me that the only reason i call people names is because i can't even talk to them properly without having an attitude! and there right i do! i always talk back if they tell me to do something. and i always have an attitude for some reason! and im a freshmen in high school! and im scared what i might do when i get older. idon't want to become a bad peson but my attitude and actions are making me! so what should i do?
Hey Nikita!
Just so you know, it's perfectly normal to be aggressive and have an "attitude" at your age. I know I sure did! You know what your problem is and you seem to want to correct it, and that's half of the battle. I know I had serious issues with my temper when I was younger, even getting into fights with people. All I did was step back, and look at alternate ways of dealing with an issue. For instance, with the girl pointing... you COULD call her a bitch... or you could put a humourous spin on it! Humour gets me through a lot of the irritating encounters I have every day. Also, try to find a better outlet for your frustration: I know Karate is a GREAT way for me to get rid of my anger. And you know what? Not only did I stop having outbursts, I even got healthier! I'm 18 now, and I've been able to get rid of my attitude, so there's always hope!

Q: i'm a sophmore in high school and have been going out with my gf since september. we go to different schools but they are pretty close only like 20 minutes awayy. she said shae doesnt want me to talk to her friends from skool which is weird, cuz i actually introduced her to friends from my skool. her friends are never around or with us when we hang out but i've met them a few times. is it wrong for her to do that, tellm e i cant talk to her friends?
It sounds like your girlfriend might have something to hide... maybe a past bad reputation... it could even be something harmless like she's afraid that you won't like them. Try to talk to her, make sure that she knows that she can tell you anything, and that meeting her friends is important to you.

Q: I need a job but I'm only 14. My sister who is 16 takes all the babysitting jobs, so I have nothing to do, execpt maybe once a year I pet sit. I am to young to get a job and a store or some place like that, so I don't know what to do. I really need some money right now, but I can't find a job anyware so I'm broke. Any advice??? I'll rate for good advice! Thanks!
I know how it is! I got my first job when I was 14. I ended up working at a public library, shelving books. Not a glamorous job, but it was great experience... after working there a couple of years, I had no problems getting a new job!

Q: i am really good friends with this one guy we hang out all the time we play basketball football everything we are neighbors so ya but i really like him and well i am afraid that if i tell him that i like him he mite not like me and we will grow distant from eachother and i really don't want that to happen i tried forgeting about him but it won't work als i am 13.f and he 16/m and the age difference kinda bothers me please help i will rate really high
So you have the same problem I always seem to encounter... The reason you end up falling for a friend is because you already know he's a great guy! (Otherwise why would you be friends with him, right?) Having dealt with this a LOT, I'd say the best thing to do is to wait it out for a while... try and be a really good friend to him and see if he feels the same way. If you do tell him how you feel, it is quite possible that he'll be weirded out (especially because of the age difference). Just think about how much his friendship means to you, and really consider if it's worth giving that up for a couple months of dating.

Q: Is breaking up over the phone okay? Or should I make an effort to do it in person?
I personally think that the best way to break up with someone is in person... but there are always exceptions. Even so, if for some reason you HAVE to break up with them over the phone, try to meet for coffee afterwards, just to tie up any loose ends. That's what my ex-boyfriend and I did, and we're great friends now :)

My Personal Forum

My name is Amanda and I'm 26 years old. I'm currently studying electrical engineering. Armed with a fairly odd sense of humour and a sunny outlook on life, I'll take on just about anything. I'm also cussedly stubborn, which has its ups and downs. Things get tough sometimes, and I've never been one to run from it.

In my last 8 years with Advicenators, I've gone from honours student to failing out of university (and getting back on top again!), from single to married, from tenant to homeowner.

Until lately, I have been struggling with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and OCD, which had basically ruined my life and taken just about everything from me. I'm thankful every day for every experience I've had because of this ordeal, because it's helped to make me who I am today. Things like that really make you appreciate what you do have. Now that I'm back in work and school and starting to become myself again, I couldn't be happier. I credit Advicenators with saving my life back when I was a teenager, which is a big part of why I'm still here.

I won't necessarily give you the answers you want to hear, but I'll always be honest and do my best to help.
