I'm a seventh grader and I was just wondering whether or not i should try out for the Baseball team or the Soccer team? I'm 4.7, 75 pounds, and i'm excellent as a goalie. But I love baseball just as much. What should I do??

I rate High!!

If possible, try out for both and see if which one you make. If you make both, then make the decision by yourself based on what you're the best at, what you like more, what will best fit into your schedule, and so on. Good luck!

what are good ways to exersise and burn a whole lot of colories in a little bit of time

And I suppose you would put this in the "aerobics" catagory, but jumping on a trampoline non-stop for 10 minutes straight is a GREAT workout if you're short on time. ;)

The site was down because the server (or server host? I'm not real technical with all this stuff...but the thing that keeps Advicenators online ^.^) was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, and it took some work to get it back up and running. Then it came back, but the site was so slow it was useless. But now we have our lovely site back, thanks to our wonderful Dangernerd. =)

Okay, I'm 13 and i'm 5'0 (yeah im small!) and i weigh about, lets see 60-70 pounds. And I'm very concerned about it. Do you think I'm TERRIBALLY under-weight, or just little low?

And also, I HATE milk, so I dont drink that.
I eat alot of meat.. probally 3 times a week.
I eat ALOT of junk foods... i'd suspect to be fat by now.
I drink alot of soda, if that helps. And water also.

Last time I had a check-up, I was 12, and I weighed about 58 pounds.
And everyone is jellous for some reason that I'm that weight.

So, can I have your advice on how to gain about 10 pounds? I'm really into your advice, I'll read it thougly, completly untill im 100% okay with it and rate it what it deserves!

I'm so glad that people are finally beginning to realize that there is such a thing as TOO skinny. I calculated your BMI (Body Mass Index) and heres what I found:

60 pounds: 11.7
65 pounds: 12.7
70 pounds: 13.7

Anything below 18.5 is underweight. I suggest that you go to your doctor and he can give you a specific eating plan or send you to a dietician. While you may think that eating junk food will help you gain weight, you're really not doing your body a whole lot of good. It is still empty calories and can still harm your body in other ways, and it seems that your metabolism is so fast that eating the junk food isn't going to help you gain weight. Go see your doctor, because you are very underweight, and he can put you on a plan that can help you.

Something thats REALLY fun, just because its so random and stupid is this.

Where everybody is sitting, put a couple of things to do. Like, when they hear such and such word, they do such and such action. Like you would start it by saying "Hi everybody!" and then someone's card would say "When you hear somebody say "Hi Everybody" get up and say "ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD!" and then somebody else would do something when they hear iceberg dead ahead, and so on. Its so random and it starts itself off, its a ton of fun if your friends are random and won't stand there and be like "What the hell?" Good luck!

i have limewire and i think it screwed my computer up.. my computer doesnt work that well AT ALL .. so do you think limewire is makeing my computer mess up? should i delete it? or if its not limewire.. what is it

Limewire is a file-sharing program, so there is a good chance that it WAS limewire. What you need to do, is delete limewire. First un-install it, then delete all of its folders. After that, you need to run a virus checker (I recommend Norton) to see if your computer indeed has a virus, and if you can just delete it or if more action needs to be taken. Good luck.

I live in an apartment with my mom. We want to get a cat and the landlady said we can if it doesn't have any claws. We aren't sure if thats ok to do to a cat. I no one other person who has a cat like this and the cat seems happy. What do you think?

My cat is declawed, and it didn't phase him at all. You may read on the internet or other sources about how it could be considered inhumane. I am a strict vegan and animal rights person, and I wouldn't have my cat declawed if I didn't think that it wasn't going to hurt him. We talked it over with the vet, my vet has 4 cats, 3 declawed and the only reason that the 4th isn't is because it got hit by a car and they rescued it, and its too risky to put it under anestesia. You just have to get this litter called Yesterdays News or something like it (recycled newspaper pellets) because its softer on their paws, and you have to start getting them used to it a couple weeks before the surgery. When they get home, they may be sore for a day or so, but then are perfectly fine. As an alternative, check with your landlady to see if she would accept it if your cat had SoftPaws, cat claw covers that make it so they still have their claws, but they have a plastic coating and can't scratch. My brother is getting married next month. He lives in Washington and we have to fly there for the wedding. I am scared to death to fly and I really don't even want to go if I have to. Should I say something to my parents? Should I just go and hope it doesn't crash? HELP!

I was EXTREMELY scared of airplanes the first time I went on one, too. But honestly, now every time I see an airplane up in the sky I wish I was on it, I loved flying so much. I would go, because its a very important day for your brother. To help get over your fears of flying, REMEMBER that THOUSDANDS of flights go out a day, and one crashes maybe every 6 months, IF that. I'll let you do the math. ;) Also, airports nowadays are very busy, because of security and such. Keep yourself wrapped up in what you need to do next. Like, "Now I need to go pick up my ticket." "now I need to go through the first wave of security." OKay now I need to go check my luggage" and so forth, and then you shouldn't have too much anxiety about flying until time comes that you're sitting on the airplane. But then you take off, and I can almost promise you'll like it. Good luck!

Do you think its okay to teach your child to hit someone back if they hit him first?

It really depends on your feelings as a parent, mostly. But do keep in mind that policy in most schools is that if there is mutual combat, no matter who threw the first punch, both kids will be punished.

I am babysitting for this wild kid on Friday evening. He is a good boy age 7. BUT, he is everywhere at once! Any ideas on what kind of calming things I can do to entertain him so he isn't running through the house like a little maniac? I can just see him falling into sharp corners and things!

Try going outside (preferably in a FENCED IN area..) and letting him run off a lot of his energy in the first hour or so. Then when you come back inside, put in a movie and dim the lights (or turn them out completely) so he gets sleepier. If he will drink it, try something like warm milk or caffine free hot tea to settle him down. This should make him calm down greatly, and the only time you should really have to deal with a wild child is when you are outside playing games. Good luck!

well first i am 14/f, and anyone makes fun of my question in anyway, i will report you and get you banned. and well people who are willing to help, please help i need help ASAP. my problem is this. i am crushing on a gay guy. i just met him and he first denied that he was, but today he told me and my friend that he is gay. but he is fits so perfect for my dream prince. he likes stuff i like, and such. not to mention he is sooo hot.

You can't turn them straight just for your own sake. Even if he wanted to be straight for himself, he would just be kidding himself. Have you ever seen those things on Oprah where like the guy or girl gets married to the opposite sex, because they convinced themself that they were straight and then came out to their spouse because they had a desire for their same sex. While you might really want to go out with him, its just not good for you or him. You'd be living a lie. So just be friends, and enjoy what you have, not what you want.

What does the phrase "wearing your heart on your sleeve" mean?

It means you show your true feelings all the time. Your "heart" or where emotions come from, being worn on your sleeve for all to see.

i write lyrics to songs and i write poetry and stuff a lot but i don't know where i can show it off without it getting stolen from me. do any of you know where i can display my poems/songs to where people won't take them and say they are thiers?

I use www.poets.com People can still steal your poetry, but they can't post it on the site and if somebody finds them stealing your poems, its actually illgeal as poets.com gives the writer of the poem full copyright to it. The only downside is that it costs I think $4.95 a month, but its a great site, you can post your poem and people will rate it and give you feedback on it, and you can do the same to other people's poems.

Hi i am a 23 years old muslim girl from leicester. Nowadays i am recieving numorous witheld number calls and threatening text messages. I have had a relationship with a guy who i have no contact with. First when i recieved the text i thought they were send to wrong number. But it's everyday now that i recieve them. Each one has threatening message like "i will kidnap you" unless i do what he wants. Now he has warned me that he is going to send pictures of my relationship with the guy to my parents. I am very scared and confused and can't even sleep. I don't want my parents to know because my dad has recently had an heart operation and i can hurt them.

Please help me find a solution to this problem as i can't go to the police or tell family or friends.

While I understand that you might not want to tell family or friends, whoever is calling you is a threat to your safety, and the police need to be told. Even if it is just a prank, its better to be safe than sorry. Since you are of legal age, the police won't have to tell your parents anything about it. The police know what they're doing, and deal with situations like that frequently. They will be able to trace the calls and find out who is making them, and take the necessary actions.

Okay, you know how bed sheets have a certain number thread count? What does that mean?

The higher number of thread count - the higher quality the sheets. It means it has more threads per square inch, making the sheets more durable and usually thicker.

okay well i really really like this guy. and whenever im around him i get the butterflies... i mean hes soo different from any other guy ive met.. but i feel like ive really been giving him mixed signals.. like one day i would be flirting with him and the next day i would like barely talk to him.. and i think that might one day just make him lose interest in me.. i have no clue why im like this around him at times.. i no im not nervouse or shy around him.. it just happens.. please please help me i rate high for good answers..

Well, there's really no question in this "question", but I'll help you the best I can. I would really make a conscious effort to act about the same way around him every day. If you really are afraid that one day he will lose intrest in you, then ask him out. It used to be wrong for girls to ask guys out, but its not that way anymore. If you don't feel comfortable, find a friend to ask him out for you, but guys really like it when a girl is brave enough to ask them out. Good luck! If you need more help leave another in my inbox.
