yes or no I live in an apartment with my mom. We want to get a cat and the landlady said we can if it doesn't have any claws. We aren't sure if thats ok to do to a cat. I no one other person who has a cat like this and the cat seems happy. What do you think?

Declawing a cat is ok to the cats health but it is giving it no defense if it ever got out. It wouldn't be able to climb a tree or scratch a dog. It would have no protection so if you get a cat and you have it declawed I would be very careful not to let it out at ALL. ]
well my cat is declawed and he's happy.you should get one that is declawed...

Cat's don't really need claws. The only reason they have them is to protect themself. Getting a cat declawed, as long as it is going to be an indoor cat, should be fine. ]
Declawing a cat is fine. It's just, if they're let out, they can't really protect themselves that great, so be sure, it is an indoor cat. Cats who have been declawed, tend to be calmer as well.

my cat doesnt have claws. shes 20. seriously. like im not even kidding. omg. why do think im kidding. im not joking. GOSH STOP CALLING ME A LIAR ]
declaw it besides it will be best for your forniture (sp?) and it just hurts for a few days also it prob wont run away ]
Well, the cat should be cept indoor's if it get's de-clawed. But I think it is totaly a "yes" ]
it's okay. they just can't go outside because if they get lost they have no way to defend themselves but when you have their claws removed they leave the back ones in so the cat could fight a little bit. your cat will still "scratch" things but it won't leave marks

alot of people qet their cats declawed. tha thinq is is that when it happens it causes the cat pain buht afterwards they are fine. so that is ah perfectly fine idea. HOPE ii HELPED!!
ex'`*oh ...me ]
Its perfectly okay to declaw a cat. Most people declaw the front ones, because just in the event that the cat gets out it has to have the back ones to defend itself, and also it cant claw up furniture or walls with its back claws. but yes its perfectly safe. ]
Get it declawed, even if i didnt HAVE to i would..it just makes it so much easier, they dont scatch up any furniture or put holes in anything and they ecspecially cant scratch you then.I have a few cats, all declawed, they get back to normal like a week later it will be finee i promise:-) ]
declaw him/her. it would make life so much easier. think about it. you won't get all scratched up, the furniture won't get all scratched up...it would be great! and declaw him/her with he/she is a kitten b/c if he/she grows up without claws then the cat will find alternitive ways to do things. but if you wait to declaw him/her until he/she is a ful grown cat, he/she might just think that he/she can't do nething without his/her claws and become lazy and not want to play... Trust me, i've had experiance with this... i would know. ]
My cat is declawed, and it didn't phase him at all. You may read on the internet or other sources about how it could be considered inhumane. I am a strict vegan and animal rights person, and I wouldn't have my cat declawed if I didn't think that it wasn't going to hurt him. We talked it over with the vet, my vet has 4 cats, 3 declawed and the only reason that the 4th isn't is because it got hit by a car and they rescued it, and its too risky to put it under anestesia. You just have to get this litter called Yesterdays News or something like it (recycled newspaper pellets) because its softer on their paws, and you have to start getting them used to it a couple weeks before the surgery. When they get home, they may be sore for a day or so, but then are perfectly fine. As an alternative, check with your landlady to see if she would accept it if your cat had SoftPaws, cat claw covers that make it so they still have their claws, but they have a plastic coating and can't scratch. Good luck! ]
Hey Hun! I dont think its a good idea because just say what if the cat gets out into the wild it cant defend itself against anything, because theres really all cats have.
Hope I Helped!

Yes that's fine..it's actually better..that way they don't scratch you or the furniture! It doesn't affect them as long as it's an inside cat! So go ahead and get yourself a cat l0l...they're so cute!! ♥ ]
It is fine to de-claw an indoor cat. Claws are not nessiscary for cats that aren't let outside, because they don't need them to climb or protect themselves in a fight.
It is kinder on the cat to de-claw when they are young. You'll need a vet to do the sugery for you, and it will cost a tidy bit. After your cat is declawed, don't let it outside. ]
well i have three cats all with claws. they have sertain breeds that dont have claws im pretty sure. but de-clawing a cat.. it can go both ways hhappy or sad. you should ask a cat breeder.

i think the only reason you are not suposed to get them declawed is incase they get loose and have to defend themselves but as long as its staying inside and it will NEVER get out you should be ok ]
its okay to get it declawed but u cant let it go outside freely because it wont be able to climb or fight for its safety.
