what is the best eyeliner to use that is not expensive...thanx..♥ kasey

Eyeliner that is cheap and good at the same time is incredibly hard to find. Wet 'n' Wild Kohl Kajal is pretty good, but isn't sold at very many places. If you want eyeliner that is cheap, just use plain old black eyeshadow. Take the sponge, sponge it on your eyelids, sponge it on the barrier between the eyelash and the red part, and wipe away any excess. Because eyeshadow is a powder, it stays on all day

For english we have to get verses from songs from other people and try to figure out what we think the song is trying to say. So could anyone who wants to send me their favorite verse from their favorite song? Or just your favorite verse from any song you like? Thanks so much. I need them by tonight.♥

"Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from the Phantom of the Opera. Beautiful song!!! The lyrics alone are great:

You were once my one companion . . .you were all
that mattered . . .You were once a friend and father - then my world was shattered . . .

Wishing you were somehow here again . . .wishing you were somehow near . . .Sometimes it seemed
if I just dreamed,somehow you would be here . . .
Wishing I could hear your voice again . . . knowing that I never would . . .Dreaming of you
won't help me to do all that you dreamed I could . . .

Passing bells and sculpted angels, cold and monumental, seem, for you, the wrong companions -
you were warm and gentle . . .

Too many years fighting back tears . . .why can't the past just die . . .?

Wishing you were somehow here again . . .knowing we must say goodbye . . .Try to forgive . . .
teach me to live . . .give me the strength
to try!

No more memories, no more silent tears! No more gazing across the wasted years! Help me say
goodbye...

Or "For Good" from "Wicked":
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a sky bird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you

Because I knew you

I have been changed for good

And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the thing I've done you blame me for

But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share

And none of it seems to matter anymore

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood

Who can say if I've been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better

And because I knew you...

Because I knew you...

Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good.

right so my freind peirced her ear with a third hole by herself using a needle yesterday. it looks fine today. i want a belly button peircin, but my mom will never let me. should i ask my freind to do it for me? what are some safety measures i should take?

DON'T DO IT. It's very, very dangerous, and around your navel area, you could do serious damage. Your earlobe isn't a really sensitive area, it's just a piece of skin so it's not as bad. Your navel has many nerve endings. Don't you do it yourself, and don't have anyone else do it. Self-piercing in general is dangerous.

Hi there,

I'm part of the anti-Christmas Coalition, who have been campaigning for the last few years to destroy Christmas across the world. We have been concentrating our forces in America, since this is the land that most actively promotes Christmas as both a commercial and religious holiday. We are an anti-capitalism and anti-religion group, who see an attack on Christmas as being a two-birds-with-one-stone job.

Anyway, my request for advice is this: how can we better prosecute our War on Christmas through legal means? We'd love to wring Bill O'Reilly's neck, obviously, along with the necks of a number of other prominent Christian commentators, but if we are to survive and spread our campaigns, we need to be out of jail. Already we've come up with the obvious one (the ending of 25th December as a Federal holiday, for which we use the argument that this violates the Church-State separation guaranteed in the Constitution), but need more ideas.

So could we get some suggestions?

To be perfectly honest, I think you should just give up. You can try to campaign, but people will laugh and won't give it a second thought. Christmas is a traditional holiday. If you don't like religion, that's your business. Billions of people are Christian and celebrate Christmas. It's been around for thousands of years. If you don't like Christmas, you don't have to. There are many people who don't. But whether you like it or not, Christmas is an industry. You might as well try to stop the stock market. Many countries in Latin America are Catholic countries and will forever celebrate Christmas, no matter how hard your organization tries. Be realistic. You're not going to change almost a whole continent.

So.. why do you think teens place more emphasis on their appearance?

Teens are self-conscious about their appearance. They want to feel beautiful, and are influenced by the media with supermodels and actresses, more so than adults. Adults are equal, in terms of age, with the supermodels and actresses that they don't need to feel inferior, and are mature enough to look beyond they way someone looks. Teenagers look up to celebrities, because celebrities are big and beautiful, and they're still growing and stuff. About the being mature enough to look beyond looks, teenagers want to be accepted by their peers. Basically, even if they're not conscious of it, they want to attract the opposite sex. Man must keep its population moving and reproduce. It's all a survival thing. Everybody, teen or not, wants to be beautiful, You can study this more in anthropology.

Hey I'm 13 years old and I'm a really advanced reader for my age (just so you know). It doesn't mean I can read/understand adult books but whatever! I really want a list of GOOD books from like all genres!! If you could give me the title, author, and genre of the books you're suggesting that would be great!

One of my favorite books of all time is "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux. The story is about Erik, a mysterious, dangerous and ruined genius (to be precise, a composer, engineer, magician, architect, ventriloquist and an expert with the Punjab Lasso) with a mutilated face who terrorizes the Paris Opera House, which he lives beneath while taking Christine Daee, the beautiful soprano whom he loves under his wing and attepts to seduce her. Of course, since he's so ugly, he doesn't stand a chance with Raoul, the "charming" and handsome young viscount, Christine's old childhood boyfriend. Actually, he's a sappy twerp, but he's portrayed as that. Immediately, the Phantom gets jealous, kidnaps her and makes her a prisoner of his home in the cellars of the Opera. It's a very dramatic novel, and you won't want to put it down. It's also very sad. You really feel for the Phantom because he has such a tragic story. The musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the movie was based on this novel.

"The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien is a great adventure story, while at the same time gives off a kind of cozy feel. It's a great book. It's the prelude to the Lord of the Rings series

ok im looking for the LONGEST LASTING makeup out there. (and not to expensive either)

I need foundationn

Foundation - BenNye is pretty good.

Eyeliner - Wet 'n' Wild Kohl Kajal. DON'T DO MAYBELLINE. It's so overrated. Their eyeliner starts to smudge and fall off in an hour.

Turquoise eyeliner - Rimmel comes in many different colors. So does Morbid Makeup, and they should both have turquoise

My parents have been telling me Santa Claus is real..I mean I am trying to believe but my parents have given off to MANY clues. I asked my mom the other day and she gave me the whole pep talk. Is Santa Claus real or is it his "helpers" who live w/ me?

Well, I don't think that the physical being of Santa actually exists, but the spirit of Santa is what really exists. Here's something that might be of interest:

Dear Editor—

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, “If you see it in The Sun, it’s so.” Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O’Hanlon

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby’s rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

what does the spanish word mierda mean in english?

It means shit. Not like "solid waste," but shit.

[view]

what does it mean wen peeps say things are classic? like if someone tells some one off, they say "classic..." and what does it mean when somethings overrated? like peeps say "phones r 2 overrated" and stuff like that? i know this is random... but i rate high for good answers!!

First:

Classic means really old-school. The "oldest trick in the book." Like a pie in the face is just about the oldest novelty, or a child being told off for dipping his sister's pigtails in ink. A classic, get it???

Overrated means that people act like it's way better than it actually is. Like you might say "Harry Potter is so overrated. Everybody likes it so much, but Robin Hood is way better."

Im in a new relationship. Before we started going out we were besttt friends. sO my bf told me he doesnt know about anything right now. Hes very confused. He wants things to work but he has to figure things out. I told him i would stick by him and he can figure out what he needs to. He really is sweet..he caress about me and doesnt want to hurt me. I told him I want it to work also and I am going to stick by him, give it a shot at least. He said things are going too fast..i guess the transistion from friends to more than friends..plus our friends are acting weird about us (i hate when PEOPLE ruin a relationship) He said maybe hes just feeling weird because this is all new to him..hes just so confused. I like him a lot and i dont know what to do to help him get his feelings straight? after he told he all this online, he called me which is a good sign. it shows he really does want it to work right? what are some things i can do to show him our relationship can be great. im aiming for nonphysical things ...activities..games..things to talk about because he wants to take it slow and i have no problem with that. please help me .5's for anyone who tries..thank you so much

Hey, wsup? Sorry you had to wait so long to get an answer. I've been really busy and haven't had time to give this question some real thought.

So here's what you should do. Let him know that everything is ALRIGHT. He's confused because he's suddenly having different feelings about this girl that he once was just friends with. If he's worried that the relationship won't work out, let him know that he doesn't have to worry about anything...he has NOTHING to lose. A relationship can only fall if you make it fall. Take him out to see a movie, or something of the sort at first to break the ice. A dinner or a walk might seem a little awkward at first, because you have to think of something to say all the time, but once you guys have romantically gotten used to each other, it shouldn't be a problem

i feel sooo bad! my friend thinks shes soo amazing, and so talented, and she sings all the time. when she sings everyone either laughs or tells her to shut up. its.... really... really.. bad. i dont know what to tell her. i dont want to hurt her, but shes just embarassing herself! our school musical auditions just happened, and she was shooked when she didnt get called back from the lead. what can i do do help her :/ im 15/f is that helps at all. thank you!

That poor girl. Don't tell her directly that her voice is terrible. It would be cruel, and would really hurt her feelings. When the conversation rolls along to music and singing, suggest that she take voice lessons. The thing about voice lessons is that you don't have to be really really good or really really bad. If you tell her that, she won't know whether you think she's musically talented, or musically challenged. And most importantly, she'll learn to sing.

ok, im 13 and he is 13 or 14 and he kind of good looking but not really but he is really funny and smartand kind ect. anyway he goes to my religion class and we used to have it every monday but it is over until the winter or spring. he told me to chosse winter and we could be in the same class so I said "ok I will" on the last day he asked me my sn but I dont have one yet so he gave me his and wrote (4 when u do ) and a smile face, my step brother told me that he likes me so he asked him on line and he said no I like this girl named Liz. But when I left to go somewhere he said he wanted to talk to me and tell me something but I havent been on line yet so I wasr wondering if he does like me, and if I should ask him myself if he wants to go Ice skating with me? should I or not?

No, I don't think he likes you. Just because he wants your SN and wants to talk to you doesnt mean he likes you. He wouldn't say he likes a different girl if he likes you. I mean, he might say "no, I don't like her" but never that he likes someone else. Don't ever get your hopes up over guys, because they're completely unpredictable and you could be in for an unpleasant surprise. I hope that for your own good you didn't accidentally tell a friend "Omg :insert name here: likes me!!!" Ohhh boy, then you're in for a living hell. And you shouldn't ask him to go ice-skating, because he doesn't like you back, and you're only 13. I mean, if you're like 20 you can ask a guy to go ice-skating as a friend, because guys aren't such a big deal, but when you're 13, nobody goes ice-skating with a guy who's not their best friend. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with it, but it would seem rather odd.

Im 13-f and i'm in theatre. They auditioned me for a part and it was the part that I really wanted and I didnt get it I got stuck with this whole other stupid thing. Im not even in the play. I know im a good actress and its my dream but they wont give me a chance. I feel like my dream is cruched. what should I do?

You've just learned a very valuable lesson the hard way. The show business is a very rough place to make a living. For every broadway star out there, there's always another actress who is as good if not better. Some of the best actresses never get roles. Last year, I was in the show "The Wizard of Oz." I worked my ass off (4 hours straight before Audition Day!) trying to get the part of the Wicked Witch, and I gave a great audition. In my opinion, the best audition. But the director gave the part to this other girl, who hadn't worked nearly as hard as I did, didn't even want the part, and didn't give as good an audition as I did. And what was I?! One of the singing poppies in the poppy scene. I was onstage ONCE. I feel your pain. Honey, I think you should wait around for another play to come, and try to get a role again. But there's no guarantee. If you'd like to talk about it, you can drop a word in my inbox

I really like to act and the auditions for the school play are in december. I do a lot of acting outside of school. I have been acting ever since 1st grade. At the moment I am taking 2 theatre classes. But last year I didn't get into the school play. I was actually crying. I knew I could do it but I didn't. The problem is, I can't sing and the play is always a musical. When I act in front of people it's a peice of cake but when I sing I just can't do it. I really want to be in this play! Any advice? I'll rate a 5 if the advice is helpful.

If you can't sing, than there is no way that you'll get into this musical. You might want to try a voice teacher, but if you don't have the money or time, here are some tips:

1. If you can't sing, there is almost always a low-ranged character. Go for a character that sings in a normal voice, rather than up high. People who are new to singing generally find it much easier to start off in a normal voice, because it takes a while to build up a head voice if you're not used to it.

2. Don't make the mistake that many beginners make by trying to lilt the voice to sound like a pop star/rock star/whatever and/or pushing your voice. First, it sounds horrible and is bad for your voice, and the casting director will cringe. Trust me on this, this is such a peeve for casting directors that they will just say "Okaaaaay, you can just be an extra." It might sound good to you, but the rest of the world will cover their ears. There's a complete different kind of music for that, and that kind of music will never be in a musical. Second, it makes it way easier to get out of tune.

3. Breathing is key. Before you sing a phrase, take a deep breath. Your ribcage should expand, and don't let your shoulders rise. A breath should be secret. Don't let the world know that you're taking a breath.

4. As long as you stay in tune, rhythm and volume, and have lots of expression, you won't do too bad.

5. For your audition song, choose an upbeat song with short phrases. It takes lots of technique to sing long, smooth legato phrases in a normal voice. The song "Buenos Aires" from EVITA is a perfect choice. It's not too hard, very lively and upbeat, low and makes you sound better than you actually are. You can get it on the EVITA soundtrack, the one with Patti LuPone or Madonna.

6. Sell the piece! Your goal is to enchant your audience. Even if you have a terrible voice, a smile and an outstanding acting job will make up for it. Make the audience want to watch you. SHOW OFF.

The 4 most overdone songs that you want to avoid because the director will cringe:

1. "On My Own" from Les Miserables

2. "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera (It used to be great, but it's sung by so many sleazy pop stars that it's lost its magic. It's only good when sung by the Phantom and the Phantom alone, or Sarah Brightman)

3. "Think of Me" from The Phantom of the Opera
4. "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" from EVITA. Beautiful, but too common. EVERYONE does that song. Directors won't cringe, but it definitely will not make much of an impression.

Best of luck with your audition!!! It would be much more helpful if you could tell us what this musical is, and I can look it up for you and help you better.

What are some good musicals like Rent and Wicked?

You've got a great taste in musicals! Both are awesome

Here are my favorites:

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

my all-time favorite!!! The music is absolutely sublime, unique and darkly beautiful. The story that follows is dramatic and tragic. A despairing, ruined composer with a mutilated face terrorizes the Paris Opera house which he lives beneath, while at the same time attempting to seduce Christine, his beautiful young ingenue by enchanting her with his music and teaching her how to sing
The most memorable songs are "The Point of No Return," "The Music of the Night," and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"

EVITA

EVITA is about a prostitute who works her way up the chain and becomes the wife of Juan Peron, Argentina's dictator. Basically, she becomes very rich, glamorous and beautiful, seduces the nation and tries to help the working class, because she feels their pain and was once one of them. The story ends with her death at 33 from ovarian cancer. It's a little hard to follow if you're not familiar with Eva Peron, but it's still worth it with its awesome staging and upbeat, heart-wrenching numbers.

The most memorable numbers were "Don't Cry For Me Argentina," "Buenos Aires" "Oh What A Circus"

CHICAGO and CABARET for the more sexy, racy stuff

A Summary of Chicago:

Roxy Hart, a dancer aspiring to have her own vaudeville act in the 1920s, is arrested for killing her husband (I'm not going to explain why, but he was being an asshole). With the help of Billy Flynn, Chicago's greatest lawyer, Roxy may not have to go to the Gallows...

Some memorable songs from Chicago:

"All That Jazz"
"I Can't Do it Alone"
"Roxy"

Cabaret is really hard to summarize, but it's great. It takes place in Germany right before Hitler comes to power, and, much like RENT, each character has their own little story, understand? The story follows a cabaret singer, her writer boyfriend, the innkeeper at the inn that he stays at and the man who courts her, and some other people.
Some memorable songs from Cabaret:

"Mein Herr"
"The Pineapple"
"Wilkommen Bienvenue"

LES MISERABLES

Right up there with the Phantom. Les Miserables is about Jean Valjean. He was punished for 20 years just for stealing "a mouthful of bread" as he put it. Soon, he breaks out, is taken in by a kind priest, and embezzles the priest's silver candlesticks. The priest promises to let him have them as long as he becomes an honest man and redeems his soul to God. Throughout the play, we watch Valjean's efforts made to become a good man. But at the same time, he must keep in disguise, for he's still being hunted down to be put back in jail for that bread...The numbers are beautiful and lift your soul. I love it.

The most memorable numbers are "Do You Hear The People Sing," "Red and Black," and "On My Own/I Dreamed A Dream"

Sweeney Todd, anyone? Sweeney Todd is so underrated!!!
