For every broadway star out there, there's always another actress who is as good if not better. Some of the best actresses never get roles. Last year, I was in the show "The Wizard of Oz." I worked my ass off (4 hours straight before Audition Day!) trying to get the part of the Wicked Witch, and I gave a great audition. In my opinion, the best audition. But the director gave the part to this other girl, who hadn't worked nearly as hard as I did, didn't even want the part, and didn't give as good an audition as I did. And what was I?! One of the singing poppies in the poppy scene. I was onstage ONCE. I feel your pain. Honey, I think you should wait around for another play to come, and try to get a role again. But there's no guarantee. If you'd like to talk about it, you can drop a word in my inbox [ TheHeadHonchoPoncho57's advice column | Ask TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 A Question ]

If acting is your passion don't let this one thing get you down. Just keep doing what you did, work hard, and it will pay of in the end! And keep auditioning!!!! xiicarebareiix answered Saturday October 8 2005, 4:55 pm: your dream is not crushed. trust me. if you work really hard and you show you are dedicated, people will be more open to you. and, no offence, but you sound REALLY concieted when you say u know ur a good actress. but dont worry. you'll get there eventually. let me know if you get a cool part next time!
Shannyo answered Saturday October 1 2005, 9:52 pm: Well...I can tell you from personal experience that you don't and will not always get every dream role you want in theater. The hard part of it is just that. It does not mean you are not talented or that you don't show potential, it just means that it was not your time. Your time will come though. Theater is about learning all aspects of it, the stage props, the sound, the sets, costumes, and finally, performing. Once you have learned and experiences all the aspects of theater-you only lead yourself to the lead role. Keep your chin up-work hard, learn everything you can and know that your time too will come. Look into local summer learning programs at your local theater-volunteer at your local theater. Someone is bound to see your talent, and from that point on...all the world's a stage. Break a leg! LoveNJstyle answered Monday September 19 2005, 3:35 pm: dont freak out! your still young! where i do theatre, everyone has to read a part for a lead and then they place you accordingly. the older participants get better parts. just do your best in whatever you got then next audition show them what your made of. (everyone has felt this way, trust me!) i have a prof. that works with us...he also does miss america pagents, etc, and he said that once you get into the business, 49 agencies/shows will reject you but if you stick around for the 50th, youll get the part. if you really wanna get some experience to help you, join another theatre group for another show then go back to the original one. goodluck! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
*ashlee* answered Sunday September 18 2005, 10:29 pm: you could just be one of those people like on american idol. where you think you can act and all your friends are too nice to tell you that you suck. thats just a thought. but you could learn all the parts for character you wanted to be, then poison the person who has your part the night of the play. then run and get into costume and show everyone it should have been your part anyway and how good you are. (i saw it in a movie once)
..or you could just try out for the next play. [ *ashlee*'s advice column | Ask *ashlee* A Question ]
