really, the best way to deal with relationships is honesty. it's really hard but it's true. so maybe he's not returning your calls or e-mails because he's a bit lost himself or like the columnist answered before he, there is that chance that he has moved on in that time frame between together and not even speaking.

so i suggest you be straightforward. next time you SEE him bring it up. tell him you're sorry about how things ended and that with this new found information it's gotten you thinking about how great it use to be. and just see what happens from there.

dont even bother with this guy. if he liked you enough, he wouldn't have hurt you by making out with 7th graders [and i really hope he's not any older than a sophomore] and making out with this other girl. it doesn't matter if hes been waiting to see her for 10 years, he startd something with you and he can't just leave that when he leaves the state.

my freshman year i wasted alot of time with this one guy that said he really liked me [and granted maybe he did] but he would always be doing stuff with other girls. so maybe our situations arent entirely the same, but one thing that i had to end up learning was that it didn't matter if he liked me, he didn't like me enough to not hurt me. i kept clinging on to the thought of us because i thought that yeah he liked me, so i can change him. but it's not like that. the truth is that he doesn't care enough to keep what you two have, sacred. and no girl deserves that.

yes. usually when you start they're long and then sometimes they even out to only 3 days throughout the next year.

i've got a friend that's like that too. his mom took off when he was a kid and he only has his dad and grandmother. his step mother isnt really in the picture alot...anyways his dad isn't in very good health nor is his grandmothers.

the only reason i mentioned all of that is that i know how you feel and to remind you that you're not alone.

life ends. sucks to hear but true. you can't worry about these things now. because if you do then it's goign to consume you to the point where you overlooked the fact that you have time now to be with her. i know that everyone will probably be telling you similiar things but it's true. it's something that you can hear but won't mean anything until you really believe it.

the problem is alot of people waste time fearing it, and don't even realize how much of it has passed them by in their fear.

reputations aren't really that important. they seem like they are but they're really not. so don't think so mcuh about that.

my advice to you is to stay friends with her but from a distance. don't get yourself too attached with her because her behavior is very reckless and could acutally harm her and if youre too close, it can harm you too. distance the friendship. that doesn't mean stop being friends with her entirely. you can still help her out and stick by her every once in a while but only as a good friend.

if you've talked about this with her before then there's really nothing more you can do. you've voiced your opinon and given your advice, it's time for her to either listen and take it or continue what she's doing.

i've been in this situation before in freshman year. and i myself know how far i'll be going with a guy but this friend i had had way different views on things than me. she was an amazing friend but she did really stupid stuff and it really hurt our friendship. there's a line that you set for yourself. everyone has it. and if you keep hanging out with her, she can eventually influence you to push your own line further back more and more. and like i said, that could eventually do you harm. so stay smart.

hey i really feel you on this one. my best friend in 8th grade started cutting herself over a guy and it was maybe the worst 4 months of my life. she was in the same situation, her mom was really critical on her and she was always obessed with her weight and looking beautiful [even though she already was].

the one thing you cannot do is push it and make it seem liek youre angry. because if youre angry then it's going to give her less of a reason to want to stop. treat this like a disease, not a problem. you can't get angry at someone for having cancer, it's not their fault. look at cutting the same way. be there for her, and listen to her and try to get her to open up and make her see that there are different ways of venting and ranting out problems than mutilating yourself.

majority of the time, even if they know death is a certainty, people still do things to hurt themselves only to feel "alive" and to "feel the pain". most people that attempt suicide will regret it those last few seconds before they do it.

first and foremost do not abandon her. she already feels lost and confused and losing you can only make things worse. take it inch by inch, not mile by mile. start with small things that bother her and then ease yourself into helping her with bigger problems.

i spent my entire christmas break and a few months before and after that talking to her on the phone everynight and being there for her no matter what. it sounds hopeless but it really isn't.

for us, so many people kept pressuring her to stop and getitng angry with her that she startd to pick up drinking so we had an intervention wiht the school counselor. but that may not be the best for your situation since every thing is different. but just remember to keep that option open, adults can help. the right ones atleast.

the thing with shy girls [shy people in general]is that theyll do something un expected when they feel something else. take notice of things, like if she ever blushes when you say something to her, if she's ever fighting a smile when you say something. look for things that seem out of place or not usual and that'll tell you if she likes you or not.

usually hooked up means more of a one night stand sort of thing. like no real relationship, just one night of 'fun and passion'.

going out is more of the relationship line. as in youre my boyfriend, i'm yours blah blah blah.

it's not really up to me to tell you which is better-- but i can give you my opinion.

i am in love with love. i truly am. no matter how many times i get hurt i'm always still out there ready for the next guy because i love that feeling you get when you talk to someone for hours and really connect and i love those butterfly feelings and all that junk. so i'd much rather have a relatiosnhip than a 'friends with benefits' or 'casualty.' but it's strictly up to you which ever you prefer.

generally its about 2-3 weeks after intercourse. some women dont even get morning sickness. it's not an abnormality, it's just chance. some women do, some women don't. morning sickness is one of your body's hormones re-acting to the fertilized egg. so it just depends when your body gets that wake up call.

don't freak out too much. if this guy is as great as you make him out to be then he'll be loyal. the last thing you want to do is smother him. if you smother him with too much love or questions then he'll start feeling trapped (which could start doubts in him). tell him that you do trust him and that you care about him alot. keep things as casual as they've always been. don't bring up too many questions about these new girls in his class. let him bring it up if he wants. remind yourself that YOU ARE A GREAT CATCH and that he doesn't control your life. if you don't have self confidence in yourself, then you can't expect your sweetheart to, right?

saying IF he cheats on you, it's not the end of the world. life will go on and you will find so many other great guys. if he does cheat, dont let it slide. break up with him now before it gets too hard and you become too much of a pushover for stupid things HE does. because it doesn't matter if he does like you, he didn't like and care about you enough to not hurt you.

if you're trying to steer away from anything sexual.. then do something that'll remind him of how great you are. like go back to your first date site or plan a late night picnic. just do something that is memorable to the both of you. for a 2 month with one of my ex's i took him to the spot where we first kissed and told him how things havent changed between us from the first moment we went out to now. also, you can bring a little wooden box or something and put a hershey's kiss in the box everytime you miss him. then when you come back you can give it to him and be like, "i put a kiss in there everytime i wanted to kiss you." get creative, i know you can come up with a billion things

there's certain creams that supermodels and such use to get rid of those circles. you can go up to any department and ask them over the counter for the name of it. i don't use much "make up products" so i wouldn't be able to give you a specific name.

i sometimes have that problem too, and i get alot of sleep occasionally. your eyes just need to be awaken, so try putting a cold, damp rag or towel or something over them for a few minutes.

it also works on blotchy, or swollen eyes (like from after crying). i use to get into fights all the time with my mom and end up crying at night and in the morning my eyes looked funky lol.

don't sweat it. highschool isn't all as bad as they make it out to be in the movies. infact, most of the drama that ever goes in is because of preps. (one of the reasons i sort of didnt fall into their crowd). as of looks, this is probably one of the best places to be different or stand out, because everyone is like that. highschool is so big and there's so many diverse people that you getting picked on will be an unlikely. if it helps, i'm asian too lol. and though i'm not as obese as you're making yourself out to be, which i dobut you really are, i'm pretty short (even for an asian). i'm going into my sophomore year and honestly, besides the tremendous homework and hard thinking skills, highschool is fun.

definately be patient with the guys. i felt like that as well when i first started highschool and now i sort of regret getting so into guys when i should have focused more on school (nerd to the max, yeah i know). there's alot of bad guys out in highschool, so don't wear your heart on your sleeve too often.

yikes, that's a tough one. try sitting down with your mom and telling her that though you understand she's looking out for you and just wants you to be safe, you'd reallllly appreciate it if you could start casually dating, instead of only being able to date someone when they're about to leave. it's sort of a longshot but you just gotta keep trying and keep up their trust and faith. tell her that she knows you're a good kid and wouldn't ever want to do anything to hurt the trust you two have.

everyone feels like that atlaest once in their life. you're not alone. i was into a guy for 4 years, i didnt like him as much as you but i know a little of what you're going through.

you do have a purpose and a life. you had a life before he was in it. it does get easier with time. your feelings will eventually fade (though it may not seem like it now) but people like that, they'll always have a place in your heart. but over time your body and mind starts building defences and figuring out ways of getting around him. it's just natural. and it just takes a crapload of time. i know that many people have probably told you all of this over and over but it's the truth.
