sshelbyy answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 11:07 pm: I used to have braces and for the first few times (like twice) i got pink and blue and weird colors. But then I got tired of looking like a little kid and my teeth looked like they had food in them, so I just asked for SILVER and I liked it so i got it everytime for the rest of the 2 years I had my braces. It's really plain, but it matches everything, and its more mature looking. :] [ sshelbyy's advice column | Ask sshelbyy A Question ]

xoMarisox answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 5:22 pm: I would say navy, or pink, or light blue. Nothing too bright and def. not brown, yellow, or red. They show off and look kind of weird. Purple are good too. Good luck! [ xoMarisox's advice column | Ask xoMarisox A Question ]
HeartsLiesFriends answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 5:05 pm: You mean elastics?? lol. Either silver or gray. Those two mix well with your braces, and dont stick out like yellow or white. If you have anything stuck in your braces, they easily stick out and are more visible. Dont try to mix to seasonal colors, they dont always look good :]. Also i would suggest getting clear elastics, it might make the braces more uninvisible. But im not too sure, because i havent tried those yet. HOPE I HELPED :D [ HeartsLiesFriends's advice column | Ask HeartsLiesFriends A Question ]
Kr4z3y_Ch3lly answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 4:58 pm: basically what me and my friends did was go with the holidays that were coming for each month.
hah. i was in like 6th-7th grade though so thats why. its pritty lame but it works so your not sitting there for like..5 years trying to think of a color.
but mainly i got pink alot. and baby blue. umm. what else...idk my orthodontist had a bunch of diff. colors so i just picked one that i felt like wearing that month. so yea. just pick what you feel like wearing!
BrokenWings answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 4:29 pm: Red because red is blatently the best colour ever and its kinda making a statement, ok so I have braces, so what?! If youre getting them, flaunt them as a fashion accessory, sounds stupid, but if you think about it, its really not.
orphans answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 3:42 pm: choose the color depending on if it matches you. if you have blue eyes, for ex, get a light blue color. DONT get yellow/orange/white, because theyll make your teeth look yellow. i never had braces, but i still know. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
Sapphire_Lily answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 3:41 pm: Well I have grey and they do actually look nice while not standing out and that way you know your braces will never clash with what your wearing(lol sounds so dum but they do!). However I got a dark blue a couple of months back and people kept telling me how funky they looked. So you know, if you dont want people to comment on them stick to grey but change is good sometimes and it feels good to stand out and be noticed with a brighter colour, like an extra accessory. SaraMichelle answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 1:52 pm: you have plenty of color choices. they have a wheel with a bunch of colors on them. the color is of the rubber band they put over the bracket so it doesnt cut you. the bracket is either silver or clear ( clear obvsiouly costs more ) if your getting silver, pick a good color...girls pink, purple, light blue or a shiny color or a green...you know anything works. you can also switch it when you go back for your monthly visit. so dont be too concerned with it! thisismydance answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 1:40 pm: not white. i saw white on a girl... and it looked so gross. it looked like she didnt want them to show so she got white but her teeth werent white... so it made her teeth look yellow but her teeth werent yellow it was just the contrast from the white. and it made her teeth look huge. so dont get white. it just plain doesnt look good. id go with your fave color or the color that you wear most... maybe the color of your bathing suit if you plan on swimming alot this summer? or if your really into matching... id say go for a green. NinjaNeer answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 11:54 am: Whatever you do...don't get seasonal colours! All my friends made the same mistake, and got red and green for Christmas... then they looked silly in February! [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
duce answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 11:35 am: i work for an orthodontist and to be honest with you... there are NO colors to pick from. Its either the silver or the clear. The colors you are probably referring to is the elastic colors you get to choose when they "tie" you in. Clear is more expensive, but my boss doesnt like to use them. selectopaque answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 9:25 am: You should ask about getting porcelain braces. That way, you won't have any metal in your mouth except for the tiny bar going across. The porcelain will blend in with your teeth, and you can get bands that are the same color.
Otherwise, the silver blends in the most and makes it look like you have less in your mouth. Don't get grey, grey tends to look greenish, but the silver blends in with the metal.
Porcelain braces are 200 extra dollars, at least at my ortho. But, 200 extra isn't much considereing how much your parents will already be paying for braces, and it will make you soo much more confidant about having stuff on your teeth because you can barely tell they're there. hco_babe answered Tuesday February 28 2006, 8:50 am: get plain silver! its the only color that doesnt really stand out. when you get bright colors, they stand out and look tacky. [ hco_babe's advice column | Ask hco_babe A Question ]
