Well, I think that you can bring your bible to school if you want, but just keep in mind that there are other religions than Christianity and you should be open to diversity of other people. I am religious too, but I don't go to church because my family isn't really religious. For me, my religion is just a quiet personal thing that I do alone. Everyone has their own way of worshipping God so basically you can't make someone like God but you can share your ideas, religion, and beliefs to other people and maybe they will like the idea of it and want to try it.

There is actually an ammendment/law against combining church (the bible..God...etc.) and state (public/legal facilites such as court rooms and public school). So it's not a good idea to bring it to school and flaunt it around (however, if it does make you more comfortable, bring it and read it in private). It is great that you are connected with your religion, but it is NOT okay to shove it in people's faces. Talk little to people about religion, enough to give them the idea of God and religion, but don't condem them to Hell if they don't jump on your band wagon, right away, or at all. It's disrespectful and very intimidating. Try to be put in their shoes also, would you like it if someone tried to convert you to be a different religion?
Try to bring your friends to scoal gatherings at your church, not necessarily the mass itsself, but just little pancake breakfasts, or cookouts if they are available. And if your church doesn't have these things, talk to your religious-ed coordinator (or the priest) at the church and see if you can get some started for kids your own age. It will be a good way to meet more friends who accept your views on God easier, and it will be a good way to introduce your friends who don't like God as much as you do, to the idea of religion slowly.

Good luck!

I'm glad you're comfortable in your faith. I often bring a Bible to school, because I run a Bible study. bring it if you wish, but don't flash it around, shove it in others faces, or reading aloud from it. Many schools and or states have laws against you preaching, but you may quietly read it or start a club after school to discuss and learn from the Bible, but go through your proper school channels to do this.

You are legally allowed to carry your Bible, and as long as you do it quietly and unobtrusively, you will not be harrassed for it.

As for spreading God, well, if you're evangelizing in school, there are legal repercussions depending on how you do it, and it's, frankly, rude. If you came up to me and told me about Jesus, I'd tell you to shove off, because it's school, not Sunday school or Church. I'd suggest starting a Bible Study or Christian Group after school to help you feel as if you've spread the Lord's word, but going to random people or reading from the Bible, or passing out flyers, whatever, will not help you, I can guarentee you.

Disclaimer-Kelsabelsa is against all forms of evangelism and only wishes to help make the more unuobtrusive.

♥I'm not religious, and don't follow the bible, but I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing yours to school. You love god and that is all that matters, if other people have a problem with it, it's actually them with the problem. The number one thing you HAVE to be aware of is to not force your religion on anyone, if they aren't interested, just accept that. I don't believe in God but I am very open minded and always listen to what people have to say, not everyone is like that though, they might get offended. Do what you think is best and what will make you happy. Although, some schools (including mine) don't allow anything religious (example: No bibles, religion related shirts, etc.). If your school allows it, I say go for it.

if you do get hurt because of bringing your Bible, it's persecution and you're suffering for the sake of Christ. what better way to suffer than for Christ's sake? it's hard to share the Gospel with friends...i've lost many friends because they didn't want to listen to all my *Bible talk*. a way that you can though is if you see them doing something you know is wrong, tell them why it's wrong and back it up using scripture. another way is to invite them to go to your youth group, or sunday worship. spreading the gospel to others isn't all about preaching to them, it can come through your actions. if people look at you and say *there's something different about him/her.* and they see the love you have for God in your life, that's spreading it around.

Don't be afraid to share the Word of God. THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO YOU! If someone tries to hurt you, turn them in. You have the freedom of speech, press, and religion on your side. It is not against the law to bring your Bible to school, by all means, do so! I encourage it. Don't make a big show about it, but read your Bible whenever you can, and pray before you eat. When someone asks you for help, tell them you'll pray for them, and ask them how you can help them. When God puts the Holy Spirit on your heart, and you feel led to, talk to someone about God. It's commonly called wittnessing, but that's really hard to spell. Talk to people about God, join a Christian group. Is there a Bible Bowl group at your school or something? Join it! Just be as filled with the spirit as you can, without being... fanatical.

This is something i love to hear because it means that you are taking that extra step closer to god and that you want to show others your faith. I think you should deffinitly do it because this is what jesus did, he was spreading gods word even though he knew it was going to cost him his life. Spread the word, and if others critiscize you then there the only ones who are going to suffer. DO IT!!!!! talk to me if you need my advice!!!

Bless you! What a pure heart the Lord must see in you. The Bible says not to be afraid because the Lord is with you - Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world - In this world you will have trials, but take courage, I (Jesus) have overcome the world - Trust in the Lord with all your heart. On and on go the promises.

I am going to assume you are in a public school. I am not a lawyer, but the last time I looked, the teachers can't spread the Word, but YOU CAN. There will be students and teachers that will be offended. Satan may even use them to try and discourage you. But there are also Christian teachers teaching in the public schools that long for students to rise above the persecution and there are students that long to know the truth. If spreading the Word has been laid on your heart this heavy, it's time to rise up and take action.

God has not given you a spirit of fear. That's from satan. Satan will place fear on those who threaten his evil kingdom. Just remember, we are in a spiritual battle that rages all around us everyday. But we as Christians are conquerors already because of what Jesus did on the cross. And our mission is to advance God's Kingdom by spreading His Word. So rejoice and count it all joy, the evil one must find you to be a threat! He wouldn't waste his time on someone who is doing nothing to spread the truth. Pray for courage. God will give it to you freely, but you must take the step of opening your mouth and loving those who are perishing.

Jesus was persecuted and the Bible says we will be too, but we have divine protection - nothing can happen to you outside of God's control. Trust Him and move forward.

As far as how to do it: The best way I have found is to ask them questions. Something like this: Have you ever lied? Have you ever hated someone? Have you ever taken something that wasn't yours regardless of the value? (If they are honest, they will say yes to these questions) Then you say: So you admit that you are a lying murderous thief. Well, according to the Bible.....Then you challenge them on what the Bible says about sin. When they have heard why they need a Savior, it will be easier for you to offer them the hope in Christ. A doctor doesn't offer a solution to a person's illness without first explaining what the illness is.

I will pray for you and feel free to ask me anything else.

LoveNJstyle answered Wednesday July 6 2005, 11:00 am:
well heres a way to spread good: do it by making yourself an example of a child of god. do good things for others and just do what god wants you to do. i dont reccomend preaching and getting people involved in your religion tho, not because they will think you are odd but because people choose theyre own religion and have no desire to change just because someone brings a bible to school. i think a more practicle way to do this is to wear a cross necklace or a wwjd bracelet to show that you support god in your life. honestly, i dont think ive heard of anyone getting hurt by someone for doing that...(if you are catholic, one of the beatitudes says something about that) but people around you will get annoyed by it, really its not the best idea...people dont appreciate the effort. try participating more in your mass/service by reading or singing or being a greeter to welcome everyone to worship. hope this helps, stay true! <3

I don't remember where the courts left off on the issue, but I believe it was decided that a person could take a religious text to a public school so long as they did not promote any religion.

So, go ahead and take it with you, just don't start reading aloud in front of the class (unless it's classroom appropriate, as in a few select cases). Your campus might also have a small Christian group that meets during lunch time or something. If not, feel free to start one.

I would recommend asking your friends if they'd like to go to your youth group with you or something. That's what I did in high school - every Wednesday, they'd all come over for dinner, go with us to youth group, and we'd take them home.

And I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY DISCOURAGE "spReading God". Religion is a VERY peRsonal and pRivate matteR!! Each peRson must deicide which Religion to follow, if any at all, allllllll by themselves. If you want the bRutal tRuth.. if you begin to "spRead God" people will think you'Re a MAJOR weiRdo and will keep theiR distance.

Again, it doesn't matteR what people think, but if you can avoid such things, I STRONGLY and SEVERELY suggest you do so.

hey i would suggest not doing that because people don't like to have ANY religion forced on them. so if your bringing your bible to school to 'inform' other people then i would say thats not a good idea. however, if your just brining it for personal 'comfort' then i think that would be okay.

but you should save the 'spreading god' for things outside of school okay? because im warning you that people may be offended.

hope this helps- :)

I dont think it`s bad to bring your bible to school because, it`s what you believe in, it`s your faith. If you love God that much, then bring it in for a day, sure, kids might look at you funny for a minute, if they do just tell them that it`s your religion, and you`re proud of it. Maybe ask your parents first.. to see what they think, but if they don`t think it`s such and ok idea then don`t bring it in.

hope this helps!
