Tangled hair

Question Posted Wednesday June 8 2005, 3:55 pm

My hair has been extra tangled lately. In the morning it takes 10 minutes to brush out my wet hair. Can anyone suggest some products to cure this problem. My first thought was Johnson & Johnson's No More Tangles shampoo, but isn't that for little kids?

Neutrogena Deep Conditioner works well. Put it all over your hair in the shower. Then start washing your body with soap or whatever to allow the conditioner to sink in and start working. That should be enough time. Then, while you are washing out the conditioner, gently start combing your hair with a wide-toothed comb. When you get out of the shower, it should be less tangly.

That shampoo does work somewhat, but here's what I do: You know those 'squeezy' brushes with the balls on the ends of the bristles? Use those and comb from the bottom up to work out the tangles. Don't worry about whether shampoo or conditioner is 'childish', but if it works! I hope I was helpful.

I find kids and baby shampoo doesn't work very well unless your hair isn't thick. I would vote for Redken conditioner. It's a little expensive but it's absolutely wonderful.

Haha. actually baby shampoo is great for your hair. but I also have thick hair, so i use pantene light conditioning spray right after i get out of the shower. it works great. xox♥ash.

I suggest buying a Shampoo and Conditioner that is for dry and damaged hair, because thats what causes tangles is when your dry or damaged hair rubs together and tangles itself..or buy a good professional shampoo..

use lots of conditioner, thats what my sister does becuase she has extremely curly hair. she also uses patiene pro v (& so do i).. if you put about two drops (size of quarters) in your hands, and just run it though evenly, (when you rinse out your hair, get the tangles out) im sure it'll be easier.

hope it works out doll <3

MHScutie87 answered Thursday June 9 2005, 10:17 pm:
nah it works for most hair types. also try thermasilk conditioner. it works really good! when your drying your hair, try not to rub it that hard w/ the towel because doing that can make it really tangly. or you can try leave in conditioner!

good luck- :)

haha. I've never tried it, but I'm sure Johnson&Johnson's would probably work. I mean, it's hair... what the hell is the difference?

I have naturally straight hair, but I know that my friend's use John Frieda's Frizz-Ease and it works like magic for them. :)

Also, this might be off subject, but it's really bad to brush your hair when it's wet. lol. Yeah, I know. It adds to dead hairs and split ends! Just some more advice!

GOODLUCK LOVELY!

Halfpint answered Thursday June 9 2005, 9:46 pm:
Don't brush! Use a wide tooth comb. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Leave in conditioner works well. Be sure to look for something light as to not get a build up and look greasy. READ labels... it's very important.

I use Paul Mitchells "Super Skinny". It works good. You pump some of the gel into your hand and then first run it through the ends and then work your way up until your hair isn't tangled anymore. I would recommend it. I'm not quite sure on the price, since I'm not the one who bought it, but you could check it out. If its in a good price range, you might want to give it a try.

Nexus Ensure is the absolute greatest detangler conditioner. The Johnson and Johnson may work too, yeah the scent is for kids so that might be a problem to you, but the product should work ok.
