HELP!! My semi-formal is on the 17th and I justtt got a cold yesterday and now I have a runny nose, stuffed up. It would be OKAY with me, except I have to sing at graduation!! What do i do?! Its LESS than a week away now..Im so mad and I dont know what to do. How can i get better besides resting?

I'm a singer too...

Drink tea with lemon and hunny.
Garggle (spelling) warm salt water.
Put a humidifier that circulates steam/water into your room while you sleep.
Boil some water over the stove, and use the steam to help you breath.

(im 15/f)ok so im starting a band. and 2 of them are guys, 19. And one of them started comming earlyer last week... and he sang all these love songs.. it kinda creeped me out.. and then when the other guy showed up he was all normal again. But then when he was trying to show my something on the drums he put his hands over mine while holding the sticks. (like they do in movies you know? when a guy likes a girl..) it felt ocward too.. but hes also been like really nice to my parents too.. like trying to impress them. Its really freaking me out and i dont know if i even want to be in the band with them anymore.. and we just go together too.

K. So you don't like him.
Tell him honestly because you don't want him to join your band, and then if you don't return his feelings, he will probably be all awkard with you and want to LEAVE your band.

Just tell him straight out that you don't want a "relationship" to interfere with music.

If he is any protector of music, he will completely understand!! :)

What's the best season of Sex and the City? I'm going to go rent one of them but I don't know which one to rent, I've seen bits and pieces throughout the whole show and don't need to start from the first season, so which one should I rent?

You know, I wouldn't be able to give you an exact season. I love them oh so much.

But, I would just suggest you watch it from beginning to end, even though you say you don't want to start from the 1st season.

Have a Sex and the City Marathon with your friends!! They are so fun and you can just sleep over each other houses during the summer vacation!

hey, today my crush dropped a major hint for me to give him my phone number, but i didnt...its cause my parents dont know about him, and i feel really uncomfortable talking to them about guys unless im going out with them and want to go to the movies or something...what should i do? i really like this guy and i want him to call me, but i dont want my parents to know!! please help!!! ill rate...

One things for sure, even if it's uncomfortable, I think you should tell your parents, because the less anxiety that's on your mind, the less you will have to worry about... AND MORE you can concentrate on your crush.

Your parents will be very happy that you shared this part with them, and be confident and have trust in their daughter... JUST BY TELLING THEM. TRUST ME, parents love this stuff.

I just think you should just tell your parents, even though you don't want too...



If not, I'd just advise you to just hang out with him and start getting to know him as friends.. if you still like him, then good for you! :)

Okay. so. i'm 14-years, female, and live in alabama. I've been told soooo many times that i should try out for american idol, however, i have to be 16. I really want to be noticed. I've had voice lessons, and competed in vocal competitions. I realllly need some advice on how to be noticed..i've search for talent auditions and whatnot near me..and had NO luck whatsoever. i need an agent. help me please. xox7hearts;ash

There's no really way to get noticed, unless if you have some very good connections. Personally, a scout went up to me while I was shopping in the mall if I wanted to model for Playboy. Little did they know I'm only 17. lol. It's the most random-ist stuff ever.

But, since you do vocal competitions, and I used too... ask your conductor if he/she knows anything about possible nation-wide competitions because I'm sure there will be scouts/agents looking for new talent to sign up.

My friend has one, and it's been quite the latest trend at my school.

How much are you supposed to tip your hair stylist if you're getting your hair highlighted? (The price is around $50-$75)

I tip depending on how much I like it.
Obviously, I tip a standard 15%, come and go if the service was horrible.
And then I look at all the pluses, it came out really nice, time efficeient, etc.. and then maybe add a bonus.

I have had the same hair stylist since I was in middle school and she never accepts my tips anymore because she's done my hair forever. But yeah.

I have to go over to my grandpas, and i dont want to....any idea on how to get out of it?

It's probably too late, but you know what, I would just say to suck it up and go.
I'm sure you probably never really see your grandparents all that often, and I'm positive they appreciate and enjoy the fact when they finally get to see you.


Do us a favor, for future reference, respect the elderly.
You never know when something might happen, and you'd regret not spending time with them.

Usually, most people after stepping right out from a shower and putting gel in their her, and scrunching it, usually lets it dry naturally.

ok...my best guy friend's name is ryan. his and my friends are/were like determined to get us two to hook up. i thought i could do it since we were already close and everything...but when i actually got into the situation, neither of us could like...bring ourselves to do it.

I'm not really sure what the particular situation is.. so I'll just give you a general type answer...


Hooking up with your best friends would not be the advice I would give to you... for usually, something MIGHT happen, and it would ruin your friendship.
But, be completely honest with the guy that you want to hook up with, and I'm sure he's just as confused as you, so it will really be help to him, because he probably isn't sure what to do either.

Ok.. so im 14/f 5'7" and 113 lb.s. Im trying to loose some weight.. well .. fat on my stomach.. and i was wondering if any one knew any good workout plans. workouts. or anything to help. Also.. ive been waiting for Yoga Booty ballet to come to stores.. and i was wondering if anyone knew when it as coming... also.. i do yoga sometimes.. once in a while lol.. and i jump on the trampoline alot.. i have young cousins and i often.. almost every day actually.. run around with them having water wars and stuff.. i also have my own pull up bar in my door.. so if you have any workouts involving any thing like that i appreciate your help... `

I SWEAR TO THIS WORKOUT... and I do intense yoga with my friends... not only is it a support system, but you have a hell of a time, and you look good. :)


Warm-up and Cardio
Jog, jump rope, or walk briskly for 5 minutes. Roll your neck and wrists and stretch your quads and hamstrings. For 30 minutes do a heart-rate raising activity that you enjoy, like running, skating, etc. Then do these...

Tone your arms- do a REAL push up, not those girly pussy ones. Do 3 sets of six.

Bench Press- Lie on your back, holding a 3-5 lb weight in each hand. Make sure arms are perpendicular, and then extend fully. Do 3 sets of eight.

Strengthen your back- lie on your stomach w/ legs straight and arms extended in front of you. Raise your left arm and right leg at the same time, and then lower them. Next, raise your right arm and left leg at the same time, and then repeat. This is 1 rep. Do three sets of 10.

Flatten your abs- Crunches and Trunk twists. Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet on the floor... Do 3 sets of 8 regular crunches, and then do 3 sets of eight switching sides. Rise to the sitting position as you twist your body to the right, then return, then go to the left.

Firm your legs and butt- Lunges do three sets of eight reps, one set is both right and left. Reverse hurdle- Stand about a foot away from a chair with both hands on the back of it. Bring your right leg up and to the side w/ your knee bend... then extend it behin you to the back. Do 3 sets of 6 reps. One set is both right and left legs.

My picture on Advicenators uploaded but it looks huge! It takes up half the page, but on my Xanga site its the small normal size, how do I make it smaller on advicenators?

XANGA automanically resizes your pictures when you upload them, unlike advicenators.
I'm not sure if you have photoshop, but if you do, you can just simply resize your pictures so that is has smaller pixels/ or even crop it.

If you have no ideal about what I'm talking about, feel free to comment on my xanga, burnbooks, with the picture, and I'll resize it for you!

I had a friend sleepover last night, and now she wont get up!!!!!! I've tried everything, and i'm absolutly starving! What should I do?!

im a 16 year old guy and anytime i do physical activities (i.e. gym class, basketball, baseball, running and other sports.)i end up soaked afterwards and some of my friends are somewhat sweaty. I would assume its because im out of shape but i beat most other atheletes. I think it might be because i am fat. Im 5'9 and weigh 197lbs. Some is muscle but some is fat so idk. Can anyone tell me why this is and what i can do to be less sweaty?

You could have some disorder that you sweat a lot, my brother claims to have it, it's pretty funny.
But, either way I'm not sure if you can get it checked or not, or even it's there's some pill you can take...?
But, you know what, everyone sweats like hell, and probably your friends are just too embarassed to show it or just not open about it.

Screw what other people think.
As long as you're happy, nothing else should really matter.
And if being outgoing and stuff made you happy, then do it!!!! :)

This question is for someone who knows a lot about nutrition and working out.

Okay, I just started to work out for about an hour and fifteen minutes a day at the gym (cardio). I get hungry afterwards. I'm trying to lose weight (I'm a female, if that helps at all, and I'm not trying to build more muscle), so what foods would be okay to eat after a workout? Thanks in advance!

Apples will be your best friend.
They are sweet and very filling.
Not only that, but they make your complexion better also. lol.
After a hard work out, don't immediately sit down or jump into the fridge, I usually take a 30minutes for my body to "cool down" before I go eat.
And when you're working out, it's really good to drink gatorade because it has "extra" stuff that water doesn't to help prevent cramps or having your muscles tighten up.
Also, you can chew on icecubs during the 30 minute wait.

i would really like to be more healthy. you know, toned muscles, eat healthy foods, etc. the thing is, i know exactly how to do it, what foods to eat, what to avoid, great exercises, etc. the only problem is i can NEVER be motivated enough to stick to a healthy lifestyle. reading through all this health advice really gets me excited about being healthier and such, but then when i actually go try it, i am never motivated enough to follow through! any tips?

Every girl has this problem, and every girl usually has the same concept about working out.

You know what, just make it fun.
I do yoga 5days a week for 1-2 hours with my best friends... and it's just so much fun because you're having a great time (laughing your asses off) and you're all working at the same goal.

Your friends will be your support group, and you know, it's better to lose weight with other sopport and people who are going through the same things as you.

My first advice is for you to get a group of friends who are interested in the long term plan of just working out and staying fit, and just set up times where everyone is free and to work out together at different houses, whenever.

You feel great after you're done, and you stay in shape. :)



Also, my friends and I have a "journal" where we stick pictures of celebrites for encouragement, yes, it sounds lame, but you know, if it works, than it works.

well....i've been having such a hard time lately....i've been sooo stressed out with school and stuff.i know its almost over but its really a pain.in school today i wasnt acting myself and everyone was asking me what was wrong.im not even sure what is wrong.my mom constantly hassles me to the point of my wanting to stab myself and im really afraid that if i dont do sumthing soon them im gonna end up killin myself or something.please help me!!!!!!!

First, don't even talk about suicide.
I'm not even sure what you're stressed, maybe homework or studying but, maybe the problem is that you're not scheduling/making use of your time efficiently.

Like everyday, I make a list on what I need to do, I keep a daily calender and I just rank everything in order of importance, and just follow through.


Also, if you really need to take a "break" I would advise you to sit your parents down and tell them the stress that you're under and if possibly you could take a day or 2 from school to reboot and you catch up on whatever you're stressing about.
