im a 16 year old guy and anytime i do physical activities (i.e. gym class, basketball, baseball, running and other sports.)i end up soaked afterwards and some of my friends are somewhat sweaty. I would assume its because im out of shape but i beat most other atheletes. I think it might be because i am fat. Im 5'9 and weigh 197lbs. Some is muscle but some is fat so idk. Can anyone tell me why this is and what i can do to be less sweaty?

You are totally normal. Being overweight makes your body hold in more heat. The excess sweating will go away as you drop weight, or your cardiovascular fitness increases.
If you want to play football, and you plan on being a lineman don't plan on losing any weight. :-)
Pretty much any other sport you play continuously, will facilitate you achieving your body's ideal weight.
Don't listen to anyone who says that they are 5 foot nine and way so many pounds, so you should be like them.
Physical builds vary wildly. There are 6'4" linebackers who are built just like me (huge) and there are 6'4" marathon runners who are built like bamboo.
Linebackers will not ever be running any marathons, and wouldn't you just love to see a football game where all the lineman were built like marathon runners? :-)
As long as you stay active your body will do its own thing and achieve its own ideal weight.
Stay happy, stay active and let the world keep their opinions to themselves.
montrealfan answered Saturday June 11 2005, 7:21 pm: i calculated your body mass and you are overweight my advice would be to keep playing sports and sewating because sweat sheds those extra pounds and you can throw in some weights situps, pushups and diet pop, yogurt, popcorn(popcorn is a healthy snack in moderation),and to join a community sport club or group. also for when you are exercising at home you can listen to your favorite music or music that gets you moving. hope i helped rate me.

Teza answered Saturday June 11 2005, 12:59 pm: Ive also looked it up and it could be a disorder. All guys sweat a lot and its really no big deal. You are just burning calories and fat off of your body which is a good thing. Exersise daily and you will get used to the sweating. Sweat is caused by fluids but dont drink much soda. The best to drink when you are exersising or in gym is water or Gaidorate (sp) Hope I helped! ♥___eX oOh [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
luv2swim109 answered Saturday June 11 2005, 11:46 am: there is not really a was. because the only way is to not drink water. sweat is caused from the amount of fluids you drink. but it wouldne be a good idea to stop drinking because you could get dehidrated (sp). sry if i didnt really help. its best if you just keep yourself where you are now
ideals answered Saturday June 11 2005, 11:45 am: You could have some disorder that you sweat a lot, my brother claims to have it, it's pretty funny.
But, either way I'm not sure if you can get it checked or not, or even it's there's some pill you can take...?
But, you know what, everyone sweats like hell, and probably your friends are just too embarassed to show it or just not open about it.
It's all good. =)
GOODLUCK LOVELY!
Let me know how everything works out! :)

1Cutiewitabooti answered Saturday June 11 2005, 11:16 am: Well guys sweat and it's no big deal. If guys didn't sweat than that would be really unattractive. Girls sweat too but just a lot less , but it's okay if you sweat. And your not fat your just big. Most of it is probably muscle but you just dont know. Not unless you have blubber and stuff. But just work out at the gym and get a membership if you already dont have one [ 1Cutiewitabooti's advice column | Ask 1Cutiewitabooti A Question ]
xooLEMONADEoxx13 answered Saturday June 11 2005, 10:48 am: after i read your question i went online and looked up sweat. what i think you have is excessive sweating or otherwise known as hyperhidrosis a disorder whereby the sweat glands produce an abnormal amount of perspiration. the websites all seem to reccomend maxim so maybe you should check that out. hope i helped.
