This question is for someone who knows a lot about nutrition and working out.
Okay, I just started to work out for about an hour and fifteen minutes a day at the gym (cardio). I get hungry afterwards. I'm trying to lose weight (I'm a female, if that helps at all, and I'm not trying to build more muscle), so what foods would be okay to eat after a workout? Thanks in advance!

They are sweet and very filling.
Not only that, but they make your complexion better also. lol.
After a hard work out, don't immediately sit down or jump into the fridge, I usually take a 30minutes for my body to "cool down" before I go eat.
And when you're working out, it's really good to drink gatorade because it has "extra" stuff that water doesn't to help prevent cramps or having your muscles tighten up.
Also, you can chew on icecubs during the 30 minute wait.
GOODLUCK LOVELY!
Let me know how everything works out! :)
If you have any more questions or need follow up advice, please by all means feel free to ask me.

Lights_Fade_Out answered Wednesday June 8 2005, 11:06 am: Its natrual to get hungry after working out. Try eating power bars and drinking a LOT of water and some power drinks. Eat things that are high in protein and carbs. Fruit, veggies, but mostly power bars. They are really good for people while and after they exersize.
hope this helped...ask me anything else if you'd like. =D

calamityz answered Tuesday June 7 2005, 2:30 pm: After a long cardiovascular work out you body will be craving energy. Carbohydrates such as fruit or bread is probably what would satisfy you. Part of the problem may be that you aren't eating anything before; eating one of the mentioned foods about an hour before you work out may help you not feel as hungary afterwards (but don't eat too close to your work out becuase you may feel sick, though I'm sure you knew that). Good luck with your work outs. [ calamityz's advice column | Ask calamityz A Question ]
2tyfruty answered Tuesday June 7 2005, 2:05 am: I like to eat balance trail mix bars. they are completely balaned and has 16 g of protein. They don't taste funny either just normal trail mix or yogurt bars. if that doesn't work, try fruit or celary with peanut butter. Good LUck=)
