By remembering he wasnt very smart. He was a dog. He had no feelings for you. Except his recocnition of your voice. And he remembers you feeding him.

That's so ironic, because i am going through the same thing! We got rid of my cat that i have had since i was three!!! It was ssoooo sad. I still think about her, but i tell myself that she is happier where she isnow then when she was here(whether that may be true or not) I completely can relate. Just give yourself time to heal- it won't happen overnight. Write me back and we can grieve together :(

theres a lot of options you can do...you can visit him maybe every once in a while...you can just wait a little while longer and youll get over it eventually or you can get a new maybe even better pet that can replace him

Losing a pet is like losing a loved one. Whenever anyone loses a beloved pet, emotion often overcomes us. I'd like to be the great adivisor who could help you, but in once losing a beloved pet myself, I can't. All I can tell you is what helped pull me through to this very day. I keep every picture and write down every fond memory I had with that animal. It may not bring your pet back and it certainly wont help the pain, but remembering the good times, even if you're fighting back tears, I promise, that you'll always have a smile on your face. When you feel ready enough, and if your living quarters allow it, I'd suggest getting a animal of the same type. The best way to keep the memory of your beloved pet alive, if you can handle it, name him MacII. Some can't handle that, because it reminds them too much of their lost pet, but if you can, it helped me remember my lost pet, maybe it'll help you too.

Losing a pet is sad, but realize that there will be more opportunities for pets. My 3 adult cats (two had kittens to take care of) got a hold of a dead bat...with rabies...and then they gave it to the kittens, so we had to put all 3 and 15 kittens (there were two litters, one each for two cats) to sleep. I cried for days and days. So getting rid of him, you'll know, that somebody will be taking care of him. Whereas, God is taking care of my cats now. So I'm not so sad anymore...

Remembering the good times, can make you cry, maybe one day later on, you'll get another dog just like him!!! and yes, you may even named him "Mac Jr." ;) that name sounds pretty suave =D haha, good luck with that hun

xoxo

It's hard to lose a pet, but you should try to get over it and move on. There will be more pets in your life. Ask your parents for another dog or some other pet if you can't get another dog.
P.S. Trust me this works. I lost 4 cats but then i got a hamster and a doggie and it made me feel so much better.

Try getting a new pet, not to replace Mac, but to take your mind off of him. Don't remind yourself of Mac, and instead try spending time with friends and family, so that you aren't left alone enabling you to think about Mac.

Its not easy to get over a loved one ( even if it is a pet ) but i would recamend that you keep a picture of your dog in your room, and when you feel your self crying think of how happy he is now, even if he isent with you.

Ask your mom if you can go visit the dog once in a while, until you grow out of the sadness.

Well what is good is that you know that you loved him very much but one thing that you can do becausei had the same happen to me is that you realize all the good times you had with you dog and they become good/great memories. You can also just spend time keeping busy with friends and stuff like that. Hope i helped

I can feel your pain...before I was born my mom had a dog and she got really sick to the point that when I was 7 she had to be put to sleep, I remember sitting on the kitchen floor with my dog and my mom crying, knowing when I come home from school that day that she won't be there for me to play with. Eventually I learned to move on, we had gotten another dog which I didn't like much so we got rid of him..then had gotten another dog a month l8r....I love that dog and she is great till this day she is almost 10 years old and I see she'll be gone in a year and 2..3 years l8r after getting her we got another dog...now that we have 2...the youngest one we have...somewhat reminds me of the one that was put to sleep when I was 7..she fun, adorable and cute..I know I'll be in tears when she is gone as well, I try not remember, but I know its hard to lose a pet you love. So I suggest talking to your parents and getting a new animal. It doesn't have to be a dog it can be a cat or a bird. I hope I helped, if you need anything you can just drop one in, I'm open to anything.

ok. so i know exactly how you feel.
i had a dog since i was like 6 and about a year or two ago we had to get rid of her because my mom had allergic reactions. anyway... i did the same thing... crying..and all that.

so, you might want to try doing more activities like sports or music or hanging out with your friends more to make it easier to let him go and stop crying over him. if you really still want a dog, promise yourself that when you're in college or out of it... you'll buy yourself one.

if this doesn't help... ask again!

hope i helped!

Okay, I recently had a pet to get ran over and i was gloomy for months it is okay to be sad, you really CANT get over it i loved my puppy and obviously u loved yours dont try to get over it but if you are living close to the people/person that bought it ask them if you can come over and play with it sometimes but if your not living close to it it is okay to weep.
