peeps, you cant tell everyone tampons are evil or never to use them because its a different story for everyone. Just because you cant use them, dont discourage others. i listened to you and never tried tampons, one day i had a swimming party and had to use one, I will NEVER go back to pads again!!!! tampons are soooo much better and you only get shock syndrome if a tampon is left in for over 2 days its very serious, but it takes a LONG time to happen. Dont discourage anyone from using them. I did experience pain at first and if you have pain while taking it out, try leaving it in longer thats what i found works for me! ]
Actually, there is a science to it. It really is harmful to you body, even if it doesn't feel harmful.
User above me, obviously you cannot read or follow links or you would grasp this concept.
Here, another link that can clearly explain to you why tampons DO cause your body harm:

If cancer is a risk then...how can it be a person by person thing? Again, please read for your own health! Wow.

I definately recommend pads for your menstrual cycle. Pads can be worn during light days, heavy days, and even simple discharge days. Tampons can only be worn during your actual period or your risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome increases dramatically. You also do not need to worry about waking in the middle of the night to change your pad if you're not a heavy bleeder; however, with tampons they MUST be changed every 6 - 8 hours or bacteria will multiply so quickly it can cause some severe problems.
Symptoms of TSS include high fever, vomiting or diarrhea, severe muscle aches, a feeling of extreme weakness or dizziness, and a rash that looks like a sunburn. If you ever have these symptoms while wearing a tampon, remove it and tell an adult immediately. Have someone take you to the nearest emergency room as soon as possible.
When I tried tampons I ended up passing out over and over again within seconds of insertion. My body was obviously screaming at me that something was terribly wrong although nothing was painful at all. I often wonder if some other women have experienced this and thought it was normal because it definately is not okay to experience. I really believe it dramatically shocked my body and that's why I passed out.
My first gynecologist I had actually told me that tampons increased my risk of cancer. My mother had cancer before in her vagina area and was told to NEVER wear tampons again because if there is any cancerous cells in there it will irritate them and cause them to begin multiplying if they aren't already. My mother was also told to tell her female children this too since we are higher risk for that sort of cancer. I asked my first gynecologist about it and he definately recommended not using tampons because of the increase cancer risk.
The longer you leave a tampon in, the higher risk of TSS you are taking. Bacteria begin to grow in the warm, moist environment of your vagina. These bacteria can grow within the tampon, enter the body from inside the vagina, then invade the bloodstream, releasing toxins that can cause a very severe, life-threatening illness.
Tampons also pull a bit of your vaginal lining out when being removed, believe it or not. This is why many women who use tampons aren't as sensitive as they once were inside of their vaginas and why many tampon-users suffer from yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. The tampon also can leave particles behind from it, causing bacteria and yeast to grow on it. Another case is that women are frequently needing to purchase personal lubricant for sexual activities because their bodies have stopped producing enough natural lubricant to engage in such activities without problems.
The ripping of your flesh and leaving particles of material behind cannot be avoided when using tampons and could very well be why you experience discomfort with removal. I would be big money on that being the reason it is painful to remove tampons from your body. This will not go away until you become somewhat desensitized down there--and what woman truly wants that?! Please consider switching products for your own health and safety.
Here are some good websites about why women should stay clear of tampon-usage. Theses sites are pretty darn interesting:

As a very last note, you may want to check out menstrual cups. Here is a link to a question about some and my answer is pretty thorough when explaining them:

When you first do it might, thats how it was with me, especially if the tampon is really full, then it pushes against the walls of your vagina, and it hurts if your not used to it. Thats what happened to me. I guess you get used to it after a while, but the first few times is hell!

No, it's not suppose to hurt. Either your using tampon's too big for you or their too dry. Try finding a tampon that fits you well, because their not suppose to hurt. You could try reading the box too, maybe your doing something wrong.

No. Make sure you aren't using tampons too big for you and make sure you aren't taking them out too soon. Sometimes, if they haven't been in long enough, they are dry which makes it hurt more to take out. ]
No its not supposed to hurt. ]
If it does hurt when you take a tampon out there could be a possibility you didn't let it absorb enough ummm...liquid.Now if you can't leave it in any longer because you have exceeded the maximum time limit then consider using a lower absorbancy level of tampon.Otherwise no,it really shouldn't hurt when you remove it.Do make sure, however, that you relax when you are pulling it out. ]
it shouldn't hurt... maybe you have too big a size tampon.. talk to your mom, i know it might be embarrasing but would you rather go through pain? ]
you might have the wrong size in.. you should check your size and consider changing.. hope ive helped =) ]
Yeah, I don't like using them. It soaks up all the blood and expands to fit your body so it's harder to take out then it was to put in and very uncomfortable. Perhaps you should consider a slim fitting brand of tampons so they are smaller and such or change them more often so they don't have as much blood in them so it won't be as expanded and won't hurt as much. I just prefer not using them. Either that or you just aren't leaving them in long enough so they don't have enough blood absorbed and their dry. That'll hurt. Are you putting them in wrong? That could also be a part of your problem. xo hope i helped ]
When you take out the tampon, relax your muscles. Take it out slowly. Also, you may just need a smaller tampon. Hope I helped!

Supposed to hurt? no but sometimes it does especailly if your not used to using them. the more you use them the less it hurts! trust me! it will all me okay. please rate
xoxo not so confused ]
Sometimes, You just need a smaller one or buy pearl. ]
It shouldn't. Some things that will help:
1. Not changing your tampon every time you pee. It needs a chance to soak up some blood; if it doesn't have enough you could experience a weird pulling or tugging sensation when you remove it. A good guide is to change it roughly every four or five hours.
2. Buying smaller tampons. They make mini-tampons, which will help inserting and removing.
3. Take a few deep breaths before pulling the tampon out. Try to relax. And, this might sound strange but it CAN help, sometimes you can actually push them out....this involves using the muscles you would use to push a baby out. The tampon will not pop out, but your vaginal muscles will be helping you as you pull the string.
If you try these methods and are still experiencing pain, then I'd speak to a doctor. ]
No, it's not supposed to hurt. Did you leave your tampon in for at least 4-7 hours or are you using the wrong size? That's usually the problem when it hurts to take out a tampon. Hope I helped :)

it hurts me...but just relax when you take it out, it might also be that it's dry! hope this helps!
