yeah it's gonna be swollen. i had mine done before. if you got it done w/ an ear peircing gun thought you might want to go get it changed to a hoop if it isn't already a hoop because studs in the cartilage tend to get infected. that's what happened to mine but if you got it done with a needle then you're totally fine. hope i didn't scare ya. any more peircing advice. come ask me *AliCia*

Yes. Mine was a little bit infected for a while but the key is dont take the earing out AT ALL [don't even change it leave the one that you got it pierced with in for 6-12 weeks]. What happened with mine was it was the earring itself so after i switched to the earing I have now it was fine.

Karen answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 3:10 pm:
Yup, it's normal, the swelling will go down in a few days! Also, you may get a bump next to it at the end if you sleep on the side that your cartilage is pierced on but don't worry, that will go away too! Just keep on cleaning it! Hope I helped :)

OcherryfaerieO answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 1:10 am:
Of course it is! Your body isn't used to having a hole there! You'll see redness and swelling for a few days, then it should get better! Remember to put rubbing achohal (or the ear soultion your ear piercer gave you) every day to prevent infection! Hope i helped end your worries!

PinkLady4863 answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 1:02 am:
yes, it is completely normal, it just means that a vein or blood vessel has been broken, nothing to worry about it will heal soon. but it may leave a faded bruise around the piercing, but that will go away too.
