Ugh.. seriously.. GET TAMPONS! They are soo much better & no, they don't hurt. If you're really scared though, get "Teen" sized ones. They're made for our little bodies :)! And the best part, you can't even tell that you're wearing tampons! You can't even feel them! (If you can, then either it's to big or you have it in wrong!)

I tried a MILLION times during camp because we were going creek hiking i tried over 20 TIMEs and it just wouldn't go in. Its true tampons ARE better then pads but maybe if you tried or too scared just stick to pads and once you get older and you're period gets more heavier then thats the time for you to go for it and try. *muah good luck * <3

OcherryfaerieO answered Saturday December 4 2004, 7:45 pm:
This is somethings that most girls deal with at one time or another. Just relax and don't worry. Tampons generally don't hurt, even the first time... but you HAVE to get tampons with applicatiors and that are 'teen' or 'slender'. All you have to do is slide in the applicator a little way and then push it to get the tampon in. (sorry that was a little too much info.. but i hope the extra info helps) While tampons are nice becasue they do leave things nice and clean, remember to wash your hands before and after putting them in.. and also never wear them to bed or for more than 8 hours. If you do you run the risk of getting a really bad infection.. i forget the name tho. Also.. talk to your mother or another trusted adult female friend for more advice. A book that might help inform you more would be "the period book" I hope this helps! Good luck!

No, it does not hurt at all!! You have nothing to worry about! And also, you don't even know it's there. Don't worry, it'll be ok. It's nothing, and when you use one, you'll think "I was afraid of THAT?!" yes, tampons are better because they're not messy, and u can swim with tampons in.

Eyesinoceanwaves answered Saturday December 4 2004, 3:36 pm:
Well to be honest I use pads still and a lot of my friends do. I've tried tampons and in my opinion they're not taht great. They don't hurt, just the first time it feels uncomfortable. I think no matter what you use during your period, it's going to be messy. You shouldn't use tampons just because you've heard that they are better or it's the "cool" thing to do. I have a friend who was afriad to use tampons too so she asked me to come into the bathroom with her. So she tried but was afraid. If you're uncomfortable before even trying to use one, then you shouldn't attempt to use them. You won't be looked at as weird either.

Well i dont use one but if your not ready to use one then dont. Usually you dont have to use one when you first get your period. I've heard that tampons are pretty easy to use. If your not sure of how to use it ask your mom or read the box.

hey hun, tampons are alot easier, however its your preference. anyways- yea using a tampon for the first time was scary for me too.. but the thing is, i ws only 9 years old when i got mine. so when i first started using them i was 10 and really didnt know too much about my body. it might hurt, it being your first time, however it didnt hurt me. there are different size tampons and i used the smallest kind (jouniors). i think that if you get the small ones and get plastic applicators it wont hurt as bad, if at all. good luck

No, it did'nt hurt me. Just get a mirror and find the hole because you wont find it without a mirror. Well this is gross but it looks like two little butt cheeks...:/ sorry for the detail. no it doesnt hurt. but it might if you have a peice of skin called hymen i think. if thats in the way, then your just going to have to push that thing up then it will break and it wont hurt anymore!

Tampons have never hurt me. I suggest buying the "teen" kind when you're first starting off. They're slimmer and are less likely to cause discomfort.

tampons are much better then pads... if your soo afraid that is sickens you... don't use one... but tampons have so many more benefits... you can swim, wear tight pants, have less of a mess not even feel it... etc... tampons dont hurt if their inserted properly. just get the right absorbency... if your first using them... then use junior tampons and you'll be fine. they won't hurt at first... but maybe just feel awkward. for directions there is always a slip of paper inside the tampon box for directions! goood luck hun! hope i helped!
